The best thing about Fairwater Park is the views it offers you when you've made it to the highest central area of the park. On a clear day you can see over the Bristol Channel and right up into the South Wales Valleys. Nearby, there's a pond with a pond-dipping platform that offers a habitat for plenty of local wildlife, including newts (if you can spot them).
The other thing Fairwater Park is well-known for is its ski slope: it's home to Cardiff Ski and Snowboarding Centre (www.skicardiff.com), which has a 100 metre long slope and a ski lift, and offers lessons or ad hoc recreational skiing.
Apart from that, the park combines open grassy areas, woodland, and water features, with a little valley running through the park formed by Fairwater Brook. read more
