I wrote a review for this Fairstone location way back in 2018. I oddly can't find the business listing, but found this one. So, here we go again.
I wanted to do another consolidation loan. The process was straightforward, likely because I am a repeat customer with a good track record paying off my last loan.
Things have changed since I last applied for a loan here. Folks that I worked with years ago are gone from this location. Instead, I worked with Quynh, a patient and sweet woman, who stepped me through everything from the documentation needed, to the payment process.
Applying for a consolidation loan is fairly straightforward. You need to present some form of ID with your photo on it (passport or driver's licence work best), a copy of your recent paystub, and a voided cheque. Your payments come out of your chequing account automatically, which makes paying your loan off easy.
I didn't need to drop by the place to start my application. I was in the area and decided to drop by to check things out.
You can submit your forms online, which I did. Quynh had sent me a couple of links. I submitted my driver's licence because my passport has holes in it that void its validity until I get my new passport. You are also required to take a selfie, matching your current mugshot with your photo ID.
My paystub submission was easy, thanks to downloading a copy from my workplace's portal. It was the same case with my voided cheque. I downloaded it online by logging in to my bank account.
Quynh had a super long day. She called me at 6 pm and asked me if she could process my loan the following day. I was good with it. She seemed to be so pleased that I had submitted all my supporting documents quickly that she managed to squeeze in processing my application. She stayed till 7 pm while waiting for her hubby to pick her up.
I appreciated her dedication and effort. She exhibited such exceptional customer service that I had not expected. I even repeated that I was okay having things finalized the next day, but she was good going ahead with processing my application.
Interest rates vary depending on what type of loan you are getting. I'm on a bi-weekly payment schedule, so it's good. I also have the option to make more payments to pay it off faster, which I like.
I met the branch manager, Mahla, earlier this week. She was personable. She seems to work and talk at a faster pace than most folks in the office.
If you do visit this location, parking can be a challenge, depending on when you go. If you go at noon, you are competing with valuable parking spots in front of eateries, including a rice rolls place that I like. I went at around 2 pm on a Monday and parking was a breeze.
Quynh is a gem. If you do need a loan, or home or auto insurance, I'd recommend working with her. She is competent, nice, and reliable. You will be in good hands.
