We left our unit spotless, yet they illegally withheld $776.04 from our $1,945.00 deposit. They charged us: $267.78 for "maintenance" and broken blinds that were already damaged before we moved in (and documented on our move-in sheet) $300.00 for painting/hole repair from pre-existing wall damage and a shelf installed by management before our lease even started. $208.26 in random "Sales Tax" that they cannot explain or justify (the actual tax on our cleaning bill was only $22.50). We sent full video proof, move-in inspection screenshots, and formal dispute letters, but they refuse to handle accounts fairly or correct their bogus charges. Save yourself the headache and avoid this company at all costs. See you in court, Continental.

This is a college town, so he is usually swamped at work, but is always on top of apartment issues and easy to contact. Maintenance is quick too; our fridge broke in the middle of the night and we left a voice message on the office phone. He was on vacation but his staff sent the maintenance men over first thing in the morning (at 8.30am and I was still asleep) and by 10am we had a new fridge. We had NO HEAT for over a month in the dead winter. They tried to fix this by giving us space heaters which when plugged in would blow out the circuit. Our shower was non existent. The shower had a pole coming out of the wall. They told us to either move back into the no heat apartment or live in the new unit and shower in the old one. For the rest of the year we were living in unit 1 while showering in unit 2. On top of everything, they never distributed our heat compensation they promised us. Anytime we had any issues we would call maintenance or file a report and they would come days after. I have not a single good word to say about them. SAVE YOURSELF THE STRESS. We told him we would take it and asked what he needed from us. He told us we needed to fill out the application and drop that off with the deposit check. "This place just opened up, no one has seen it yet and no one else is scheduled to view anything the rest of the day, so you don't have to rush. Just put everything in a folder and slide it through the mailbox slot in the door and I'll get it on Monday when I come in." Sounds like a done deal, except... I go into work on that Sunday and notice an email from him saying that someone stopped in at 4:30 on Friday wanting to look at it and filled out everything on the spot for the apartment, so unfortunately, it's no longer available. So let me get this straight, after telling you we could give you everything that day, you tell us that it's not necessary and to drop everything off over the weekend. Then you go and sell the place out from under us? That's what you would call "unprofessional". After that experience, they could offer me a place for free and I'd still turn them down.
