I worked with a woman named Sharon, she has no clue how to speak to people let alone people grieving over a loved one passing away. Not to mention the fact it was difficult for her to answer any of my questions, she got up while I was speaking and walked out of the room. They were not a place I would trust with my family and certainly not someone that was called on my behalf. They took it upon themselves to take over without any authorization and when I mention that to Sharon she told me to file a claim with the state and it was not her problem. Needless to say I called several other homes in the area and they have had similar complaints about them. I was so grateful to the Funeral Home I went with 20 minutes away. All I can say is run far from this place and don't give yourself extra stress (especially when you're trying to cope with the grief) dealing with these people.

Our local one came in with the cheapest cremation costs. A friend recommended Casper and it was almost half the cost from what our family funeral home quoted us. That was with a discount as well! I called Casper about 2 months beforehand and they were very detailed and provided all the info that was needed. I had multiple phone calls with them and they were able to assist me even though I was in California. I mostly spoke with Jake and Colton during this process. When I arrived Saturday was the only day I could go down and we had a snowstorm the day prior. Roads were pretty bad and they were able to accommodate me even though they had a service going on. Parking can be a nightmare there, I parked a few blocks away near a barber shop. I would recommend this place to everyone!! I was truly blown away by their service and empathy.

I thought telling my young daughters their beloved…read moreGrandfather had died just days after Christmas was the worst thing I'd ever done, but taking my suddenly bereaved mother-in-law to Auclair Funeral Home was worse. We were greeted by a woman (Sue?) who plopped done and quickly said, "So, Mrs. Rezendes, what are we doing today?" as casually as taking an order at McDonald's. We proceeded to tentatively explain that her beloved husband had died just the day prior and we weren't quite sure. She brusquely asked again about our plans, of which we had none, and offered very little solutions. When I asked about a short service on the coming weekend, Dec. 31-Jan. 2, she said it would be tough because "the New Year's holiday screwed us" and staff was limited. The experience was the exact opposite of what my mother-in-law and her sons needed, so the second time she left the room to check her calendar I followed her out, at the request of my family. I asked her if she could "please, bring it down a notch" because my mother-in-law was very upset and emotional, and she had a visceral, angry reaction. She said, "what the hell are you talking about?". I gave the examples above and asked that she speak with a bit more care. She rolled her eyes and yelled to her (husband?) Adam to get out here to deal with me. I thought Adam might diffuse the situation because clearly the bereaved should be respected, however he quickly said "no, we don't need this" and told me to leave. He followed me back to my family and told them to get out because they couldn't work with us. Never in my life have I been so disrespected, and on an extremely trying, emotional day. I expected care and compassion and was instead treated in the worst possible way. Luckily, we were able to make an appointment at Hathaway Family Funeral Homes, also in Fall River, that same day and received the service we expected from utmost professionals, for roughly the same price. The space was larger, more inviting, and staffed with warm, loving family members who would never treat anyone the way the Auclair family treated us. Do yourself and your loved ones a favor and stay far away. PS - my husband posted a similar Google review shortly after our meeting (it used to appear above Rich B's review). Rest assured we will copy and paste this for as long as it takes to spread the word, regardless of how many times Auclair removes it.

It's sad when a cemetery such as this one is all but forgotten from people's minds and hearts. It's…read moreone of those "gems" you find out of luck. Griffin Street Cemetery has a ton of history and stands proud as the first cemetery ever built in New Bedford. Early settlers are buried here as well as other local figures of historical significance. It would be a great joy to see this location pop up on the map and become part of the citizens memories. The area around the land is encroaching upon it and eventually it might be gone I fear. It is possible that I am a bit paranoid but it is a healthy paranoia stemming from my love for history and landmarks. If people conduct a search this very second on this location they will find articles and articles of information. New Bedford's library has a few pieces of material that people can read up on and they are actually good reads. It goes without saying that if we care about our home city, we can at the least, invest some of our time in showing them gratitude. To the people who don't live here or have lived here, I rated the place 5 stars out of respect for the dead. Regardless of whether a person was good or bad, we all deserve our peace.
