Once arriving to the little island, we began exploring the things that make their home there. Waylon was an EXCELLENT guide. I felt like I was in a marine science class - the explanation about each species was so interesting. A word of caution that have kayaked before- the kayaks seem more like a cross between kayak and canoe so it was a little more challenging to paddle/steer. It did not detract from the experience ... added a little frustration for one of us and a lot of laughter from the other.

Our guide said he would check in one and would reach out to his boss to see if we could get a refund for the other. My fiance has kayaked before, I have not, but we were both very nervous. Our "instructions" were just a quick overview of which way to paddle to go which direction and we headed off. We very quickly after being sent into the water got pulled back by the current and got stuck between the boats docked in the marina. Our guide rowed past with the rest of our group and off they went to the island while we were stuck in the marina. We were holding onto the dock for dear life while other boaters looked on at us and it took at least 10 minutes since the group had left before I got a call from our guide asking where we were. He finally came back to us to help us out after I had already climbed out of the kayak onto the dock and merely said "sorry you couldn't make it out" before leaving us to get back to the group on the island. I have never been more humiliated in my life and I'm very disappointed that this is how our vacation ended.

You sign a waiver and you have to weigh between 70 to 250 pounds for the zip line. Our two tour guides Jaeda and Spencer were amazing. As someone who's never zip lined before, they were comforting and patient. I think this zip line tour was good for beginners and kids. I think there were 10(?) zip lines that were approx 300 feet each. I'd prefer a longer one next time!

He explained to us were to go, how to use the kayaks and made sure we were comfortable in our kayaks. The area is full of osprey and we seen many. Also seen lots of wildlife including many different heron species. Also seen crabs and redfish. There are many houses to see along the way with some big boats parked along the waterway. Handicapped accessible parking directly in front of launch. Very quiet and scenic. It is wintertime & cold, so I did not get to see the normal wildlife like turtles and alligators, beavers. Tons of birds. Launch is only open from 8AM to 5PM daily. Nature Center is also a short stroll away.
