A dangerous slick bathtub, one that induced a fall.
    Mark E.

Never in my far too many years of traveling have I seen a hotel with less competent, abusive, and just plain ignorant staff members. The rooms were fine, it's what it is at that price range and the location is good if you have business or things to do in the area. I am disabled and asked for a disabled room. What they gave me was a room with a bathtub that wasn't quite as high as one in a home and a handheld shower device that didn't work. In addition, the hotel failed to apply a gripping service or rubberized mat to the tub so it was as slick as ice. I fell in the tub during my time at the hotel and it was reported to the front desk. Their only response was 'we are ADA compliant and we can show you the paper'. Not a word like I'm sorry, are you okay, are you hurt, sorry that happened, here's a free cup of coffee...nothing like that. It was immediate CYA time for the front desk people. I contacted Marriott via Twitter and their response was that it was a franchisee's problem and they would contact the franchisee. I contacted the franchisee, Schahet Hotels, myself and again the answer was "we are ADA compliant and I can show you the paper'. The same exact answer from the front desk, which tells me it's rehearsed big time. When I asked people at the hotel and the franchisee why they didn't just put a mat or non-slip treatment in the tub, both groups of people answered that there is a fabric bath mat to step on when I get out of the tub. I was trying to get them to use or find a rubberized bath mat that costs $15 to $20 at Amazon. It's like these people, including the corporate people, had no idea what I was talking about and never heard of such a thing. I understand that this was a low tier Marriott property, but that doesn't excuse the staff for knowing how to keep their guests safe and comply with Federal law. If this is the way they react if somebody falls in one of their showers, I would be very very concerned how they would act in the event of something like a fire at the property. They are completely unprepared and their property is completely unacceptable. Stay away.

Service comes in hot and polished, with thoughtful touches (like luxury robes and umbrellas) that feel less like extras and more like part of the composition. The room leans indulgent: down pillows and marble showers with acoustics that, dare I say, will have you sounding like Whitney Houston on karaoke night. Set in downtown Carmel, you're a short stroll from steakhouse showstoppers and easygoing breweries, high notes, low notes, all within half a mile. Even the gym keeps tempo: Pelotons, free weights, cables, kettlebells, and a fridge stocked full of spring water. It's a stay that swings refined, a little indulgent, and effortlessly in rhythm.

I contacted him twice during my stay getting no response. I Was not given the room I booked, and upon check in, the front desk staff told me the hotel was fully booked and the only room they cold give was one overlooking a construction site. The food was horrible. I ordered room service on one of my five night stay. And, I am pretty sure I was served table scraps. When ordering dinner, I asked if it would be served on a dinning cart? The person that took the order replied, " No We Don't do that. You should should have a table in the room ". I did have a small table, bed side doubling as a night stand holding a lamp. The only other option was to dine in the bed, which I did. The burger was cold in the center, cheese was congealed and fries had probably been cooked and reheated at least four times. The Door men (probably young college guys) were great! I Will not choose this hotel on an upcoming visit to Indy. Beware! 5 Star room rates! Not accompanied by 5 star service, food or staff.

It's relatively…read moreclose to Carmel's Arts & Design District and has a handful of restaurants within walking/wheeling distance. I visited the hotel while participating in an event. It's a four-level hotel. It offers connecting rooms, free parking, free WiFi, digital key, an on-site restaurant (I know the breakfast buffet is now $14), an indoor saltwater pool, fitness center, business center, and is in the middle of a residential area with a mix of apartment communities and businesses surrounding it. There's also a patio with a fire pit. I checked in around 4pm - after the allowed 3pm. When I'm on this event, I sometimes get in early, however, I was pretty busy in Carmel. I reserved and received an accessible room, at least by their own definitions. It's accessibility is definitely a bit weak by ADA standards. I am a wheelchair user who was in room 328 and there was definitely barely enough room between the bed and the large dresser. I literally rubbed. If you're in a larger wheelchair or motorized chair, you definitely don't want this room. That said, bed height was good. This was a room with a bathtub that has grab bars - not ideal but workable (and does meet ADA). I had identified being a wheelchair user in my reservation - so I'm a bit disappointed to be placed in as room where it was difficult (but not impossible) to navigate. If it had been impossible, I'd have requested a change. The free WiFi works well. You can upgrade to a premium experience for $4.95 a day. There were handles on the curtain that make it easy for a wheelchair user to open and close them- nice touch. The doorway is relatively light. Elevators are roomy enough for a wheelchair and multiple guests. The lobby is nice and dining area comfortable. I had dinner at a surrounding restaurant, however, I did stay in the hotel for breakfast and was pleased. The main employee I dealt with was friendly and helpful. I had asked for a copy of the city newspaper, however, they didn't have one (they do offer a free USA Today). Overall, this was a positive experience. While the accessibility for a wheelchair user in my room was somewhat disappointing, it was for the most part workable and other accessibility issues were as expected. I would likely return here, however, I might explore a different room to see if I could get a little more comfortable with navigation. The hotel seems to be a bit older and could use a bit of a touch-up, however, it was clean, comfortable, and this was a good stay.

No complaints other than I left my swimsuit in the bathroom, called them the SAME DAY as check out. They said they would put it in the lost and found and when my husband went back 6 days later, they could not find. More annoying than anything. It's replaceable but I gave the my name and room number all before my checkout time, so there was no gap in when I left and when another person would've come in.

The suites were very clean, large and well appointed with full sized fridge, toaster oven, microwave and kitchen. Popcorn and dish soap on hand for you, too. Housekeeping comes quickly (tip them, of course) and does a good job. Plenty of storage, a laundry hamper, ironing board, etc., two TVs, decent lighting and seating throughout. It was quiet and the bed was comfortable. The shower was adequate, the toiletries were fine and the vanity lighting was sufficient; air flow was such that the shower did not steam up the mirror and a fan turned on along with the light in the bath/WC area. There was a lovely patio out back with lots of comfy seating. The breakfast was pretty terrific in a comfy area (ice and drinks available 24/7) and all the staffers we encountered were helpful and friendly. The hallways and elevators were a little shabby, but other common areas were great. I looked but did not find a safe for valuables. After our first night, we returned from breakfast to find our rooms were being serviced by housekeeping; unlike the situation in other hotels, the housekeeper did not confirm our identity or block us from simply walking into the room. We discovered another person - a 9-year-old child - quietly relaxing on the sofa while she worked. It turned out to be no problem in our situation, but the lack of a safe and these security issues would give me real concern had we kept valuables, confidential materials or anything dangerous in our room. As it was, I kept the "no housekeeping" magnet on the doorframe after our second night. With that exception, it was pretty perfect for what we wanted. Not upscale in any way, but with everything you needed.

I arrived around 7:00 PM and checked into Room 707 (1 King bed). After a full day of travel, I specifically chose Drury because I expected a safe, clean, and reliable place to rest. I parked, brought my luggage in, and went straight to the room planning to shower, take my medication, and go to sleep since I still had another four hours of driving the next day. When I pulled back the sheets, the bed was covered in pubic hair. This was absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. I immediately called guest services to report it. I was exhausted and did not want to move rooms, so I informed them I would sleep in the chair instead. For a hotel charging $178.00 per night, this should never happen. Someone clearly did not clean the room or change the sheets. It also makes me question how often this happens if guests don't inspect the bedding before getting in. Cleanliness is the bare minimum expectation, especially at this price point. I was truly disappointed and believe I should be fully refunded for this stay. Drury needs to do better.
