Clean and spacious room, lobby is bright and breakfast included (basic food, but good enough to get full). Staff is friendly. Only bad side is my room was on the freeway side, pretty loud noise from the window. read more

Stayed here this past weekend and I felt so good about my choice to book here. The rooms were nice, clean, spacious, and had great air conditioning. We had breakfast there as well using the waffle maker. My family and I really enjoyed it. Yovan and Jesse are what took the trip over the top. Yovan was very polite and helpful when we arrived. I made a mistake in my booking and he was patient and reassuring and helped me get everything squared away. I booked one day instead of the two we would need. He made sure I understood the different rooms and check in/out times and everything. Jesse was also a pleasure helping and answering all the quesutons I had that I asked during our stay. He was patient and attentive as well. I feel like, when you go to a hotel youve never been to, these are the kind of people you would love to be there to help guide you. Thank you for a worry free stay. Take care. read more

The rooms were clean and so was the Inn itself. I did have an issue with housekeeping. Left the room at 10 a.m. taking the do not disturb card off the door. I returned at 12 midnight to find the beds were not made and the bathroom was not cleaned. My son also had the same issue with his room. When we checked out the supervisor told me it was up to me to inform the innkeeper to make sure the room was cleaned. Naturally the housekeeping staff said the Do Not Disturb card was still on the door. Just a poor excuse as that was not the case. read more

I was a bit apprehensive about staying here due to the bad reviews, but decided to book anyways because I would be using my bonvoy points. Friendly Staff: the front desk gentleman that helped me was extremely friendly and talkative. There was another staff member that approached me at the coffee station, and was also very friendly. Nice to have the staff engage the patrons. Coffee station: they have a self serve coffee station. Descent coffee and convenient. Fitness Center: it's small, but glad I was able to get some cardio in during my stay. They have 2 treadmills, an elliptical, and weights. Room: the carpet did have a funky smell, but other than that, the room was clean and just needed to place to sleep. I would stay here again if in the area. read more

Stay here in September 2024. It was a lovely stay. Yovan and Marisa were great hostesses. The location is near everything you need; food, supplies, entertainment, and shopping. if you are looking for a clean, affordable, comfortable place to stay; try this location. read more

I'm writing this review to share an incredibly disappointing and discriminatory experience my friend recently had at Fairfield Inn. She was driving with her husband, who uses a wheelchair, when they got a flat tire and pulled into the hotel's parking lot for safety. She asked if she could leave her husband inside for a short time while she went to get help. Shockingly, the hotel refused--simply because he wasn't a *guest*. She was told that if she had a reservation, it would be fine for him to stay. But because they weren't guests, he couldn't wait there--even though he's disabled and clearly needed a safe, accessible place while she handled the emergency. This policy feels discriminatory and completely lacking in human compassion. Denying someone a safe space solely because they use a wheelchair and aren't paying customers is unacceptable. Accessibility is not just about ramps--it's about dignity and basic human decency. Fairfield Inn, do better read more

Front desk customer service extremely rude and poor knowledge on literally everything. They changed me $100 for my service dog " because they shampoo and clean floors after every stay with an animal ", yet while i was there , there was VOMIT on the hallway floor which never got cleaned ! Ended up having to pay nearly $300 for 1 night . Never again ! Not worth it ! read more

In town for business and this is a nice hotel near our job site. Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and organized breakfast area. Thank you breakfast lady keeping the breakfast bar stocked and clean. The missing star is for the rooms. The rooms are pretty large but with so little use. Room feels empty and a bit outdated. Common area is well kept and looks refreshing and bright. Clean and organized. Will be back if in town again. read more

Worst hotel experience ever! Runnnn, don't walk runnnnn from this hotel. Do NOT stay here. Management and front desk staff were awful.

Lovely hotel, very nice friendly reception Clerk. A bit pricey $150 for a single person and AAA discount. Good: I like that they had soap, conditioner and shampoo in refillable bottles on the wall to save all the plastic waste. Breakfast was decent with lots of options. Coffee was good. . .Not too wimpy as in most places. Not so good: The television did not work for changing channels, etc. very screwy menu. Maybe the battery was low but it was too annoying so I gave up. Bottle of water available in the room for $5!!! Sheesh. Location of ice machine not obvious. Curtains very sheer. No chance of walking around in the underwear here. They could not find my membership-who knows what benefit that is anyway. Neither morning or evening clerk and the provided phone number and website had no option to find it. read more

All four stars are for the gentleman in charge of breakfast in the morning. Whatever he makes, he should make more. The lack of fifth star was because of an issue I made the front desk aware of (room 223) but will spare Fairfield Inn on Yelp the details of said complaint.... Hopefully they addressed it. read more

We owe our good stay to Yovon. He was here to check us in and he cracked us up the whole time. I used to work for Marriott and worked at a Fairfield Inn once upon a time. We are super loyal to Marriott brands. We have stayed at some really fantastic Marriott products and great destination locations. What I want to emphasize is that this was a great stay. We came for a wedding and our whole family stayed here. It was a very enjoyable hotel. All of the housekeepers were friendly. Though we didn't expect to have housekeeping service since our stay was 2 nights, a nice young lady stopped by to see if we wanted our room cleaned. The location of this hotel was perfect for us. Convenient to everything we needed. The staff was amazing and friendly. Yovon teased that he was going to come with us to the wedding. He should have. He would have made a great addition to our family. Lastly, the things that exceeded our expectations were the breakfast and the conditions of the rooms. Everything was very nice at breakfast and was more food than we expected. The rooms were well maintained and the bed was very comfortable. read more

I like Marriott a lot and Fairfield is my go to lodging while traveling. For the days I stayed at this Fairfield, they had a bit lower rate than another Fairfield near by. I was very impressed with this hotel. We arrived around 10pm, the gentle was very kind at check in, we had asked since we drove 4 hours in for a funeral that if it was possible to do late check out since we just need an extra hour to get showered to go back home. The gentleman said it would be no issue to just let the morning person working know. I was so relieved. We stayed on the 3rd floor and everything was clean and cozy. We woke up for breakfast before heading out to a funeral and they had great options such as oatmeal, eggs, waffles, bagels, and juice. Worth the stay as it's complimentary breakfast. We headed to let the lady about the late check out and she said oh there's too many late checkout already that we couldn't. I was very disappointed as the gentleman said there would be no issue at all and he understood we only needed an hour to come back and get our things and just shower. Well the lady dressed very nice with brown hair, was straight rude and all i said just literally an hour or even 30 mins... well we ended up just paying for another day so we could come back and freshen up, but then she was like oh we might need to change rooms, but thankfully we kept same room but had to spend that extra 140 for all we needed was an hour that the gentleman the night of check in said oh no problem. So knowing we paid for the extra day, we delayed another couple hours to visit with family so the room wouldn't go to waste, but it was so unprofessional, since there were so many late checkout already that we couldn't get just 45/1hr as we drove from Pasadena the night before. It was unfair as we asked, but since others were able to, why not us, we didn't ask for much. So even though the hotel was great, the customer service needs to be worked on with the communication as the clerk the night before gave us his word there will be no issue at all, then the morning lady just said no, but others got a yes, what singled us a part. It was very upsetting as well, then when we tried to book through the lady, she said no we have to book through online and not through her, which why?? That didn't make sense to me, we could not just book at the front desk for the extra night we paid for. She said go online, so indeed i went online and did it, more of a headache as i was already going through personal things. Started so positive with the gentleman at night being so great then one rude morning person who i guess woke up on the wrong side of the bed and decided to not be accommodating, not even trying to help me book in person. I was shocked why. If we come up in the future, i really wished to stay here as i enjoyed the hotel, but service is most important. read more

My wife and I stayed here on June 16-17. This is the second time we booked to stay here, well of course because this place is very nice and affordable. We were coming down from Redding and needed somewhere to stay before we went to Morro Bay, CA. Love this location also, because it's near plenty of restaurants and our favorite restaurant called Apple's Annie. Highly recommended if you haven't been. When we checked in, Jackie made a great first impression. She was very friendly and helpful. As we checked into our first room it was musky and ask for another room. Jackie didn't hesitate to find a second room for us and also gave us snacks and bottle water which I was surprised and grateful for. So the first thing we notice going to our second room is the smell was much better. We checked the bathroom and it was cleaned and satanized! All and all the overnight stay was good, they had no breakfast and many amenities were closed like the gym. The hotel also was doing some kind of renovations. That's all, remember everyone to support your local business! YAH bless you! Stay safe! read more

So the first thing you'll notice about this place is that it's right off the North bound 99. You literally exit the freeway and it's right there to your left. The 2nd thing you will notice about this place is the smell right when you open your car door. All you smell is manure. Because you are in the middle of farm country, it's not that surprising. One thing I noticed about this place is they have next to no AC running in the lobby, hallway or elevator. Good thing they only have 3 floors, because if it was much higher, my shirt would have been soaking wet. After getting off the elevator and entering the hallway, you will notice the age of this place and it definitely needs a makeover. When we entered the room, the manure smell made it's way indoors and it was very unpleasant. Luckily, we had Tide fabric spray to take away some of the odor. Our room was nice and clean, but does still look it's age. I love the fact that there is a separation of the living room and bedroom. You are presented with large flat screens, but the one in the bedroom is about 5" bigger I believe. The bed was nice and comfy but if you are a side sleeper like me, you will not like their pillows. I don't want to say it's hard, but it did kind of hurt when lying on my side. The location of hotel is not very well lit and I believe it's right next to a Smart & Final. There are a few fast food places very close by, but I know if I would walk around at night here. Not to say that I saw anything sketchy, it's just dark and who knows what's lurking around at night. read more

Good room. Comfortable. Clean. Liked that they had housekeeping refreshing the room daily. TV should be easier to readjust to see from other than sitting on the bed. Good breakfast. Coffee is barely okay. It was morning and I needed coffee, so I drank it; I didn't drink it because of the taste. Freeway noise from 99 was very noticeable in my room (#331). I am not bothered by noise when I sleep, but I was very aware of the freeway noise. Hotel should put something in to deaden the sound -- better window?; different type of "curtain"? Ask to stay in a room ending in 28, 30, 32, or 34 if noise bothers you. read more

I stayed here a night and it was great. Nice room, looked like it had been renovated fairly recently, with mini fridge and microwave. They also have frozen meals and ramen for purchase. I did have to ask for a comforter from the front desk. She was very helpful and friendly. I especially liked that you can watch Netflix or whatever streaming service you have on their TVs. Rooms were ok, but the one and only elevator was out of service. Not up to Marriott standards.

I had 5 rooms booked at this hotel, the pricing for two did not match my reservations on the app. The desk clerk couldn't figure out why the prices were different (+100 per night more). She ended up calling over a female manager who gave heavy attitude and essentially told me there was nothing she could do. I even showed her proof on my phone that there was a pretty significant pricing error, she wasn't having it. I asked to speak with a manager above her, and the " General Manager", Mickey, came out of his office in a pair of basket ball shorts and a T-shirt. I didn't really care, but it did strike me as being a little unprofessional. Whatever, so long as he handled the issue. Long story short, and against the female manager's wishes, Mickey adjusted the room price to match my app. I was a little perturbed but happy they did the right thing. BUT THEN, up in my room, I begin to unpack and had taken my shoes off. Standing in front of the nightstand next to the bed, I noticed my socks were pretty wet. I went and grabbed a white towel from the bathroom and placed it on the carpet that was wet thinking it was probably just water or something. My curiosity got the best of me; I lifted the towel up to see the color of the liquid, and to my dismay, it was a yellow-brownish color. What in the world could that be?! There was no way I wanted to stay in a room with a puddle of yellow liquid next to my bed for the next 3 nights. I immediately went downstairs to talk to the GM (in his basketball shorts smh); unfortunately, he showed little concern. First words out of his mouth were not, "I'm really sorry about that." Instead he proceeded to tell me that he wished I would have come down sooner. Now mind you, I had only been in my room 20 minutes max. He said the cleaning crew had just gone home for the night and he was all booked, which meant he couldn't move me to another room. I expressed my concerns about the room being unsanitary and he literally offered to check me out of my room. When I asked him where I would go, he said, "I don't know, but we're all booked here." I had 4 other rooms there, I couldn't leave. I asked for a discount, he offered me $30! I said, "really? What about refunding me this one night" he said, "we'll you're staying in the room", I said "not by choice." After going back and forth, he ended up only giving me $75 off the room and basically said I was lucky to get that. After returning to my room I began to look around and noticed the room looked pretty shabby. It wasn't cleaned well to begin with. Carpet didn't appear to be vacuumed, headboards has some sort of splashes/stains on them, the pillows cases had stains on them. And by the way, I never received an apology from the GM about the condition of my room or experience. No follow up on the situation or anything. I left this hotel with a very bad impression. Being an Elite Marriott member, I don't think I've ever experienced such poor and unconcerned care at any other hotel. Very surprised by this experience. This hotel is not ran with very much professionalism. Every time I saw the GM during my 4 day stay, he was in a pair of basket ball shorts and a T-shirt. Not sure if he is living at the hotel part time or what, but his SUV never left from the hotel guest unloading zone area in the very front of the hotel. I just expected more I guess. I did contact Marriott Customer service, but they too felt it wasn't that big of a deal. Marriott dropped the ball this time around. read more

We stayed at the Fairfield Inn & Suites for two nights while in town for a wedding in Tulare. The room is very clean and it was a very pleasant experience that exceeded my expectations. I chose this property since it was newer than others in the area. I was in room 306 and there was a whirling noise coming from outside that was going on all night. To help block out the noise, I put ear buds in to listen to music. Being that I don't normally sleep with ear buds in, I wasn't able to sleep. Another issue is the smell of mildew from the bathroom. There also was not a vinyl/plastic shower curtain but only a fabric one. Perhaps the staff forgot to put one up. Thinking about it, it's usually the plastic curtain that smells and needs replaced. Since there isn't one, it must be something else causing the smell. As a frequent traveler and a platinum member of Marriott, this is my worst experience and also the first time I've posted negative feedback but if it's 3am and I can't get to sleep, I feel the need to share my thoughts. read more

Their housekeeping stole a very expensive sweater from me! When I called to ask management about it they simply denied it. Do not stay here.

BEWARE! RESERVATIONS DON'T GUARANTEE YOU A ROOM! Although it is written in your confirmation letter that a reservation guarantees you a room, don't be surprised if they do not honor it. My friend had booked 2 suites for our group of 10 people, a month or so before Memorial Day weekend. He even called a week before just to make sure the rooms were reserved. When we reached the hotel, they gave us some spiel about how the computer system had gone haywire and was double booking people. So instead of the 2 suites that had been confirmed (TWICE! Once in email, and once on the phone) they were going to "down grade" us to 2 standard rooms....with an $8 discount....how thoughtful. Well, after about an hour of talking to corporate and explaining it over with the manager, we were able to convince them to lower the price, and to at least provide us with a refrigerator. Now, if that wasn't enough, when the maid came to clean our room, they picked up the towels that we had placed on the floor, and hung them back up on the rack...makeup residue and all, AND for some reason, laid one out on one of the beds. That is disgusting! Usually if a towel is placed on the floor, it means it's been used right? Never seen that before. We ended up calling the front desk to get fresh towels. The only positive thing I could say about this place is that the breakfast tastes really good, and the location is great with Starbucks, Smart & Final, 99 cent only store, Walmart, and the outlets that are within walking distance. To save yourself the headache, I'd advise you search the other hotels in the area. read more

BEWARE OF THIS HOTEL AND STAFF!!!! I booked a room about 10 months prior to my stay for about $117 per night. I would be in town for a trade show. 6 months after my reservation with confirmation number was made they called and told me the rate was going up to $400 per night and if I didn't like it, too bad. They cancelled my reservation and now it's too late to book another room in the area for that trade show. They do not honor their commitment. Additionally I have stayed in this hotel in past years and it is probably the worst Marriott property I have stayed at. Last year the room smelled like mold. read more

Tulare Marriott is my favorite Fairfield I have stayed out. I have stayed over 170 nights at Marriott hotels and the TVs here are in the top 5 for sure! Comfortable beds, great customer service, and they will upgrade if they have the availability (and your status allows). This is my third stop here in the last two months and I will for sure keep coming back. Keep up the great service and your nice looking place! I saw a negative review about the booking process. It appears that they didn't understand that you obviously need to have a Marriott account set up. Also, Marriott has a 800 number, website, and phone app that you can book a room from. I booked a room from my app in less than 2 min the day of. If you are a "normal" Marriott user, this hotel with far exceed your expectations and will raise the bar! read more

Horrible booking and check-out experience According to my family, the actual room was fine but my experience booking the room was horrible. I gifted the room to family after their wedding and when I called to book the room and cover the cost I was placed on hold for 6 min. When I called back I was attempted to be placed on hold again. Before going on hold I expressed frustration with already being on hold for 6 min. The young lady on the phone unapologetically explained there was nothing she could do but put me on hold because the system was down. I let her know she should have advised me to call back at some point and not leave me to hold with no explanation. I called back to book, the system was up and then I was told I cannot pay with all of my info over the phone without filling out forms, if not my family would be charged at check-in. I left an event, came to the hotel, filled out a release for my card, gave my card that was swiped and was told they will just have to check in and no card needed. Not only was my family charged, they were charged $180+ and I was quoted $139. After having my family call me about the charges and having to spend time on the phone sorting it all out, I was told there was an incidental charge I should have been told about that I was not, my card never swiped and was not on file and then my card was charged $152. So several different prices. This was a frustrating experience and was exactly what i wanted to avoid. I wanted my family to have a hassle free comfortable stay. read more

This is a brand new hotel, located EXTREMELY close to the 99 Northbound on and off ramps. It's a little hard to find in you are coming from the north or trying to get south after your stay, but it's super easy. The single most amazing thing about the hotel is that they manage to keep it smelling like sunshine and love... In Tulare! Tulare smells like it is home to over 300,000 cows... Not hating on cows, cheese or dairies, but cows, well, smell like cows. 4.5 stars! The decor is cheerful and modern and the staff is super nice. Rooms are spacious and they give you big fluffy pillows. The towels could be a little better (if Marriott is going to tattoo their name on the brand). There are tons of outlets for your cell phones and free wifi that's actually half decent. The breakfast bar has a waffle maker for fresh waffles, breakfast sandwiches that you nuke, hard boiled eggs, cereal, oatmeal, toast, coffee, tea, etc. nice dining area and lobby. It looks like someone's uber cool living room. Love it. The hotel is located next to the outlet mall, near all sorts of commercial areas and conveniences. I don't really write reviews on hotel cuz most of the time I forget when I tell myself I would do it when I get home. But, this one I just have to so I'll remember the pros and cons. I'll keep it short cuz I need to hit the road. So, here's the skinny. Pros: * Decent good quality breakfast (they have boiled eggs cuz I don't eat those fake scrambled eggs). Plus, their bacon has that medium thickness so it's not those cheap bacon. I don't usually do bfast in hotels cuz I just grab mine when I hit the road, but when I was getting ready the smell of it has been luring me to go downstairs! * TV in dining hall is on Fox News!! * The staff in the dining area took my empty plates, I was somewhat surprised and delighted cuz usually I throw them myself. * The water pressure in shower is good. Cons: * Not so clean, I found a little trash in the trash can, I got there it was there. And one of the beds, the sheet has a little dirt mark. * My room was next to the freeway, it was loud. I'm a type of person that sleep right away when my head hit the pillow. This time, it took me a while. * Hair blow dryer doesn't dry hair * I'll spare the details, promptness of housekeeping falls short. I meant to keep this short, oh well. But the gist of it all -- I noted to self that I will not stay here anymore. Had I not went downstairs, they will have less stars. Now, I guess if I have to stay here again, I'd request the opposite wing of the hotel. read more
