Stayed here for the first time as I had a few free nights that were expiring and it was the cheapest option without having to burn more points. Although I definitely remember stopping in 2018 when my friends were staying here for Coachella! Had a standard two queen room as I was actually not able to be upgraded through my status. I guess it's harder for two queens than one king. Aside from that, the room was fine. Beds were of usual Marriott quality, the bathroom is pretty big. Only thing I wasn't a fan of was the decor, but Fairfield Inn has its own style so it is what it is. Staff here were friendly, but my experience with them was basically limited to check in, picking up some extra towels from housekeeping, and check out. Location is a bit isolated as it is a newer property as compared to the other hotels in the area (i.e., Courtyard and Residence Inn are further south). But it is generally within driving distance of most places. Only places that are walking distance are La Quinta Brewing Co., Subway, and Jack in the Box. There is a free breakfast, but I didn't wake up early enough to take advantage of it. Parking is free, which is not a guarantee with a lot of hotels these days. Overally, it was a perfectly serviceable stay. My preference is to stay at other hotels in the area, but this wasn't bad.

    Messy but not a dealbreaker

3.75 This Fairfield delivered what is to be expected, comfortable and convenient stay. There's no wow to this location, but they are very centrally located off the main freeway and the room was ample in space and critter free. My only critique is the bathroom walls looked like there had been some painting done but the walls were not wiped down. Just looked unnecessarily messy. The splatter was all over both sides. Overall, it provided a clean and easy stay for our quick stay.

The work area in a suite. (This particulate TV didn't work though)

This is my second time staying here. I wouldn't say it say is was a bad stay, but just a very average experience. First, and not the fault of this location, but the website was acting weird when I tried to change the reservation. I actually made the reservation about 7 weeks ago for the total price of $179 on a Saturday night. 2 days before I was supposed to be there, I checked the rates again and it gave me $129! so, I cancelled the one room and got another reservation. I prepaid the room to get an extra discount and even checked in from home when I received the email. I did ask for, not expecting to get it, early check in for 11am, but I did ask for it. I also asked for a higher floor (there are only 4). I then signed up for text alerts when my room ready. Day of arrival - no texts, no emails, nothing. The reason I asked for 11am check in was because I wouldn't be able to check in until after 10pm if I couldn't check in before noon. Since I didn't receive a text, I checked in around 10:15pm. Well, lo and behold, they still had reservations for 2 rooms, and neither was prepaid! This is where the staff gets 5 stars. She cancelled the extra room and gave me the suite (only $20 more) which was my 2nd reservation and STILL cheaper than my first. They put a $100 hold on the card for incidentals, of which I have no clue what that might be. There is no restaurant, no pay per view movies, and nothing to really charge to the room. They do have a small "corner marker" that was pretty sparse that maybe you can charge you room? I don't know because it was pretty sad. I would go to the nearby AMPM before getting something here. The suite is nice. It's basically a longer room with a sofa, 2nd TV and work area. I like Fairfield Inn's because of the fridge and microwave. I wish all hotels had a mini fridge, so extra bonus here. Otherwise, the room was OK and functional. I was kind of hoping for a bathrobe, but no dice. The shampoo, body wash, conditioner, are attached to the wall so there's no stealing extra shampoo for home. I completely understand why they've gone this route, but I still get weirded out by communal dispensers. I assume they are sanitized like everything else. I popped open my laptop. Internet connection was fine. Then turned on the 2nd TV. They have Netflix, YouTube, and others, which I think are free, or you can sign in if you have an account already set with your favorites. There's a way to log off everything you signed in to and also a message saying everything will be reset when you check out. A nice touch. Problem was, I couldn't get past the main menu! When I selected TV or YouTube, the screen went blank. I tried turning it off then back on and the same thing happened. Boooo! Luckily, the TV by the bed worked just fine, but still annoying. I learned very quickly the walls are super thin and you can hear everything in the hallway. In fact, there was knock on a door and I thought it was mine! It wasn't. I do like that they have a cover over the peep hole so people can't look in from the hallway. Nice touch. The bed was comfortable enough. The lamps are a bright white rather than warm light which I personally just find annoying. Not the type of light I want to be exposed of right before bed. I was awoken a few times by the noise in the hallway, especially in the morning. Not good. I swear I could hear everything. Ugh. The free breakfast was OK. Fairly standard. Only issue here was they had sausage links and waffles but no forks! At least none I could fine. They did have 2 sections for spoons though. Did someone forget the forks? Finally, I 'm getting ready to leave and was disappointed you couldn't check out through the TV. It's possible you can check out through the app, but I'm partial to the TV check out where you can see you bill. Luckily, no other customers were at the front desk so check out was a breeze and I was on my way. One thing to know about this location is the area has been recently developed and there is a still a lot of undeveloped land around it, which means a lot of sand gets blown around, especially on your car. A thorough washing of my car was needed just from being there about 12 hours. None of the negative things would prevent me staying here again if the price is right. The people were nice which at least made me feel welcome.

Do not stay here if you have sleep apnea and use a cpap machine, or need any constant power bedside. The hotel has motion sensors throughout the room, that turn off all of the power outlets. How did I find out? I woke up last night gasping for air, with my cpap mask on. I then moved to check my machine, and it powered back on. I spoke with the on duty manager and he didn't give a fuck and said that their outlets that are connected to the motion sensor have the ground on top, and that is common knowledge. Yet when I told him I stay in Marriott branded hotels more than 100 nights per year, and this is the first time I've ever had this happen, he shrugged. After calling the Titanium line, they had the hotel bring me an extension cord. Marriott International

This is our second time staying here.... First time since Covid.....Checked in by phone but we still needed a key‍‍ Anyway, the place is still new so everything is great.... Our room is large with a living space, very nice.... The room is very quiet which I love.... can't here the traffic in the corridor or the elevator all night......In fact I can't here the elevator at all..... Great blackout drapes....my husband also loved the small gym area..... Our housekeeper "Yes" that's what she said to call her was the bomb.... No matter what we asked for... YAYA" has a smile on her face.... And will go out of her way to help you.... Thank you YaYa! You deserve to move up.....The customer loves you.... Sometimes it takes management awhile to see who is really customer oriented... the lady that checked us in could use a few tips from you.... She was okay, but you are friendly and always smiling, and helpful!

We were invited by a friend to this so call private golf club to eat. There were literally teenagers working there. The way they dress, talk and no ideas on working in a restaurant or even hospitality. Food presentation was awful and the taste was dried and salty. They never came out to see what we needed. As a customer we had to constantly tell them what to do for all the basic that they should have been trained in. We order coffee. A cup was of coffee was brought out. Where is the creamer. Then creamer was brought out. Can we get a spoon to stir please. Constant back and forth. No self awareness of what is needed on the table or what goes with what. We can hear them laughing aloud in the restaurant as there were only 2 tables with customers including us. We heard recently there was a change of the executive chef, that did not help in quality of the food. But i think they need to re-evaluate the restaurant management and its priority. It appears this club and restaurant services senior people with money, and being private club on a Friday and in Pauma Valley with no nearby restaurants , except for some decent ones in the casinos, they settle for this restaurant. Truly my last time here and will let people know. Hire cooks and service people that want to be in the hospitality business. Not teenagers.

So what differentiates this from other Palm Springs area resorts? The service, by far. The property is phenomenal and the upkeep and maintenance is good, on par with other places. For example, at the pool, we found straws from the previous guest, etc. not a deal breaker, but something to observe. But everyone I interacted with genuinely seemed like they wanted us to have a good time. If it was fake, it was very good acting. From the valet to check in, amazing! Javier checked us in. 7 out of 5. Stress free. The pool area, 8 out of 5. Off the charts. Attention management: I stay at a lot of hotels and resorts. And though I'm sometimes overly generous with my ratings, I can honestly say Dru is the best server I've had, ever. She should run the joint! I wish I could give her a raise. Evan was pretty bad ass too and should be commended! Will I be back? 100 percent. Amazing property, rooms are great, staff is awesome. The rooms are a bit underwhelming compared to the rest of the property, but the overall experience more than makes up for it. The pools, grounds, and amenities make this a great place to spend a long weekend. I'd definitely recommend staying here--just be prepared if you're visiting in the summer. The 104-degree desert heat is no joke, so plan on spending plenty of time in the pool and staying hydrated!

They do recommend you come a little early to view and enjoy the main building where the cactus garden was but we were a little behind and made it right before the tour started. The tour host 7 person per guided tours. We start off at check in and then met with our guide, Hema. At the beginning you start off on the golf carts where your guide gives you an introduction to the family and the property. The gate into the main residence is around the corner from the public property. It's amazing to see how someone turned a barren desert landscape into an oasis. The brief cart ride to main door was quite nice. A massive golf property hidden in the desert. Once you approached the main property, it's welcomed by a massive water feature. A knock on the double doors lead you into the lobby of the house. Just walking into the property, it's a true MCM oasis. To find out the property only has just the primary bedroom was insane as it was massive. Theres no picture allowed inside but outside was fine. Hema, very detailed in everything she explained was very sweet and detail oriented. Walking through the different rooms and seeing all the amazing things collected by both Walter and Leonore Annenberg was quite interesting. The office which house all of Walter's work, pictures of family, friends and political figures. The different room that's in the main house, their amazing artwork which some are the original pieces. Then you have the way they lived, very elegantly. Each room had their own unique style. The designer and architect sure had their hands full with detail designed of everything on site. The furniture, one of a kind design with amazing embroidery. Walter had an amazing collection of artwork and sculptures. Seeing them throughout the house and the way it was displayed in different room of the house was spectacular. Even the kitchen was nice. Still fully functional as it's still used for summits. The outside alone is one in a million. The massive property with many lakes that is fully stocked for fishing. The golf course which is a golfers heaven. And then you have the pool with a million dollar view of the mountains as the backdrop. Not only the main house, there's the guest house which is utilized for guest. And they're know by different color rooms. And by that, it's fully decorated in the color palette. That building also all looks out to the pool and mountain. Leonore, with her favorite color yellow also had a rose garden designed in the property. The tour lets you inside the lives of the Annenberg and the amazing lives they've lived. Housing major political figures, celebrities and the amazing parties had. The massive art collection and endless photos of everyone, it was a sight to see. This is a tour worth checking out and learning about the Annenberg. Plus, Hema our tour guide was excellent.
