I had to go out and buy a professional spray/deodorizer to help with the smell. Could I have requested a new room, yes but I attempted to remedy it myself. I first asked the housekeeper to help with the smell, she just handed me Lysol. Which made it worse. Lots of stains on carpet and walls. So make sure to not be barefooted walking around. There were old food crumbs along side the walls. Which means carpet was not thoroughly vacuumed or not vacuumed at all. Breakfast was ok. Basic breakfast items that was just in warmers (sausage and eggs) and make your own waffle option. Overall , it can be a decent stay. It could just been my room that got skipped in the detailed cleaning. I may possible give it another try next time I come to town. Will request a walk through first

The last 2 times I have stayed it has started going downhill. This past weekend was the straw that broke the camel's back. Was terrible from the moment of check in, I didn't get the kind of room I booked and then was told my the manager I didn't book the suite room and would have to keep the room they had for me. And from that point it went downhill. I dealt with getting bathmats to dry on after a shower to broken locks on the door, not having a deadbolt because it didn't line up and my keys being deactivated. I dealt with rude staff members at the front desk, to filth under the bed, to a peeling ceiling and pop stains behind the bathroom barn door running down the wall. Stay away from this place they just don't care about the consumer. Called complaint line and because they are a franchise corporate doesn't have rule of any kind over them. I won't stay there again and recommend no one else does. Run don't walk to the nearest hotel and stay there.

I spent time in both a normal room and an executive suite. Both rooms were great while the suite had to be almost 3x bigger. Breakfast food was decent and is the normal quick and hot Holiday Express food. For some reason the cinnamon roles are always delicious. This is a great location as well. You are two exits from grocery stores and the two restaurant strips. Another 20 minutes from downtown Memphis.

This weekend though, there were some kids baseball teams here and they were loud but I couldn't hear them. Awesome. I've been to a few of these and they are all about the same. Comfy, great locations, new and about the right price. Shop it on this or some other sites for great price. Rooms are plenty big for plus one and pets. Staff was nice. Very well located for a quick over night stop or a few days. Shopping, food, Walmart, all located very close by. Great place. P.S. Two issues that brought the rating down to a 4 start. I tried top contact the housekeeping dept. No answer. Tried the front desk, no answer. This wad unsatisfactory in my book. Then in the am, as I was about to shower, I stepped into the shower and let me say I was highly lucky that I was holding on to the grab bars. The shower floor was very slippery. I love a clean shower but don't leave the Clorox on the floor. This could be very dangerous for anybody. Highly unsatisfactory and dangerous. Sorry Home 2. I do like you.

They did have coffee available all day so that was a plus. The hotel is located behind a shopping plaza near the highway. Im afraid what the other hotels are like in the area as this was rated the best; best of the worst possibly.

However I am surprised they never offered a discount or any kind of "for your troubles" thing. 1st- the lobby was okay and the staff was nice but the carpet in the hallways and the elevator were dirty. 2nd - When I got to my room there was no remote so as I look for it and instead found garbage and a lot of dust behind the dresser and under the bed, against the walls. 3rd- There was some kind of something in the air that burned my eyes, but only while I was in the room, not outside or in the main lobby or other parts of facility. When I requested a new room they didn't have any. 4th- I decided I can make it work since it was only one night but then I pulled back my sheets and found dried food and sauce between the sheets and the bedspread. Of course housekeeping was gone so they just gave me an extra set of sheets. It was an uncomfortable night. This location should be reviewed by the Hilton folks. NOTE - My co-worker had no issues with his room. It looks like I just drew the short straw this time around.

The staff was fantastic. Jessica, Katherine, Annie, Tina, Michelle, Scott, Shaneika, and Mary--sorry if I missed anyone. I mention their names because they need to be recognized for their professional service. When you travel and stay at a location, you want to be taken care of and these fine folks did an outstanding job. So if you stay at this location, you will have a great experience like I had. The reason for 4 stars not five, the breakfast should be till 10 am not 9am M-F, till 10am on weekends. It's not the staff's, fault but corporate's, and the pool needs to be resurfaced, once again not the staff's fault. I would definitely stay here again.

The rooms however have seen a steady aging that are in need of serious updating. Interiors doors don't close all the way. Toilets bolts are often loose causing a rocking motion if not careful. During a current stay, the pair of reading lights didn't work, and the light switch by the door had black tape over it. The rooms are the truest definition of basic. Not exactly sure what's going on here but the rooms need attention.

When I arrived at my assigned room, I was surprised to find that the bed had already been slept in. I returned to the front desk to request another room and asked if there were any available on the first floor. The clerk gave me a key card without any apology and seemed more focused on whatever he was doing at a table in the lobby than on addressing my concerns. The second room--located right next to the first--was also disappointing. The dishwasher was still running with dirty dishes inside, the body wash in the shower was actually a shampoo bottle with "BW" written over the label in marker, the toilet paper holder was broken and spun in circles, the mirror was dirty, and none of the trash cans had liners properly placed inside. Breakfast was equally underwhelming: premade sandwiches, half-cooked quiche, and limited options. The only fresh item I found was a banana tucked under a juice shelf. To make matters worse, while eating I overheard a desk clerk or manager openly criticizing a guest who had experienced problems the night before. I travel monthly and almost always choose Marriott properties. For comparison, the Fairfield Inn in Olive Branch--though older and currently under renovation--has consistently provided excellent stays. This particular hotel is less than five years old, yet the quality fell far short of expectations. To top it off, I never received the usual post-stay email inviting me to share feedback. Unfortunately, this is not a property I would return to. Marriott should take a closer look at this location to ensure it meets the standards loyal members expect.
