I had a heart transplant in June and was looking forward to my first getaway in Ocean City at this property. Unfortunately, my check-in experience was a complete disappointment -- in fact, a disaster. Upon arrival, I informed the front desk that I had a **service animal** with me. The first two questions the front desk agent asked were: 1. *What is your medical condition?* 2. *Can you show your service animal's credentials?* Both questions are **clear violations of Marriott policy and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)**, which only allow staff to ask: - Is the service animal required because of a disability? - What work or task has the animal been trained to perform? As I was gathering my thoughts to respond appropriately, an **Assistant General Manager** approached in an **unprofessional and aggressive** manner, escalating the situation instead of resolving it. In my 35 years of staying at Marriott properties, I have never been treated in such a **rude, condescending, and hostile** way. When I asked questions about Marriott's policy, his response was, *"You live in Bethesda, go to the headquarters and ask yourself."* He also said, *"I'm not going back and forth with you, and you can leave the property with no refund."* His tone and behavior created a **hostile environment**, which was especially distressing given my recent medical recovery. I contacted **Marriott Customer Care** to open a case but was told that any case would be routed back to the property's management. To avoid potential retaliation during my stay, I decided to wait until check-out to report the incident formally. This experience left me extremely disappointed and disheartened. Marriott has always been my preferred hotel brand, but the management at this property failed to uphold the company's values of respect, inclusivity, and guest care. **Recommendation:** I strongly advise travelers with disabilities or service animals to avoid this property until management undergoes proper **ADA compliance and customer service training**. read more

Hotel advertising states steps away from waterfront, which is not true as pictured! When i arrived to this hotel I asked the hotel front desk staff, very nice young man Victor to Cancel my reservation due to false advertisement on the website. He told me that the charges had not gone through but to contact the manger tomorrow. As a Marriott platinum member I then contacted the Bonvoy loyalty program to inform the of my reservation complaint. At this that time the Bonvoy customer agent said they would open a case which they did to make sure if the charges were applied I would be refunded. The very next day I contacted Fairfield Inn front desk and was informed I would be refunded by a very nice lady whom name I didn't get but this took place 8 March 2025 at 2:40. The conversation went well and we hung up. The very next day 9 March 2025 at 1:54, I received a harassing phone call from a Chad saying that the charges would be applied to my credit card because they gave me complementary upgrade to my room and then I canceled. I explained to Chad I never got an upgrade because I never checked in, I only walked in and saw no water near the property so I asked to have my reservation canceled by the front desk which took place. I also explained to him that as a platinum Bonvoy member I was already eligible for a enhanced room upgrade and they were only at 30 percent occupancy since this is Ocean City off season, so they had not given me anything I was not eligible to receive. But the most important point I made to him was I never even checked in to any room. I also stated I left his hotel and checked into another Marroitt hotel, The Courtyard Ocean City which actually is steps away from water fun. He again started to lecture me stating since I open the case he had charged my credit for the cancellation reservation fees. At that point I told him I would report it as a fraudulent charge since I had just received a call the day prior stating the cancellation fee would not be charged. When we hung up I called Bonvoy and open another case, about the new conversation with Chad. The Bonvoy representative at this time told me Chad lied in his notes to Bonvoy saying I was a no show for my reservation and that's why they wanted to charge me. As the representative and I spoke he could see from phone records that I had been to the hotel Fairfield on that Friday 7 March. The case has been escalated to a Bonvoy loyalty manger. I would not stay at the Fairfield inn & suites ocean city because Chad had no loyalty or integrity towards a loyal customer who has supported all Marriott hotels for over 40 years. read more

Nice CLEAN hotel - they were cleaning very well. I'm quite a clean freak and I was very happy with our room and just watching them clean the other areas was encouraging! They were all so nice and helpful! We were very pleased with the customer service. Everyone at the front desk was helpful and courteous. They extended our checkout and was very kind about it. The complimentary breakfast was so good that my husband overate each time. lol. The lady overseeing it was meticulous and awesome to make sure everyone was satisfied! We were so happy to find a great place to stay and only a block from the beach! read more

The room is all I had issues with everything else was honestly fine. The front desk staff was friendly and listened. The cleaning crew needs to be looked at though. There was blood on the door (see pictures) and they only cleaned the inside part not the whole thing. We stayed for one night only. Next time we will be staying somewhere else. I found no signs of bedbugs though and that was a big plus for me. The location is an easy enough walk to the beach and plenty of places to eat around there also. You will not be bored there that's for sure. I give this place 2 stars because with Covid being a scary thing already seeing blood and the possibility of blood-born pathogens just makes it worse. read more

I was in town on a work trip. Great front desk staff. They were very welcoming. Even the General Manager was helping the guest at the front desk. That's a great sign of leadership and how he treats his staff. Room was nice and clean. Awesome location to the boardwalk. It was a short 2-3 minute walk to the beach and boardwalk. They include breakfast with your stay. The food was better at this location than other Marriott locations I've stayed at. There were many families with kids so it must be very family friendly. They had an indoor heated pool, but it wasn't very big and it got a little crowded. They charge for parking, but their parking area is very limited so park your vehicle there as soon as you get a parking stall. If everything you do is in walking distance than just leave your vehicle parked on property otherwise street parking is a nightmare in the area. Overall I would recommend this property and I would definitely return and stay again if I'm ever in the area in the future. read more

Newer OC lodging destination. Very modern and "green." Rooms very clean and comfortable. HVAC is very, very quiet for a Fairfield property. Wifi worked fine. Just a couple of issues: streaming tv very temperamental as we couldn't get it to work most of the weekend and, when it did work, it cut out mid program. Not good. The breakfast selection could be more appealing and plentiful. Out of cheese omelettes? That's sacrilege, but, hey, it's complimentary. Despite these nuances, I recommend this property. read more

Our two night stay at Fairfield Inn & Suites was above and beyond. I knew that Fairfield was a newer hotel (just a year old), which is why I wanted to give it a try. I am extremely pleased and impressed with my stay here. I was able to check in early, Maria was the one who checked us in - she was very welcoming and friendly. We had 2 queen bed with balcony, non-smoking room. The AC in the room was super cold, large, clean, and spacious room. Breakfast was amazing with different options - see photo. There was staff on site cleaning up and restocking anything that was getting low. In the elevator, there was a sign that indicated the breakfast zones -green, yellow, and red zone. The zones indicated the times it would be busy during breakfast. I went around 9am both mornings, not that many people there but a few. I really wanted to visit the indoor pool and fitness center, but wasn't able to do so. Both are located on the third floor - same level my room was. I did go peek and they look just like the pictures on their website! So if you are interested in utilizing those amenities, feel free cause they are there. The hotel is a 2 block walk to the beach. We are basically on 25th St after we cross the street from Philadelphia Ave (though the crosswalk light took a while to change but that is nothing to worry about) Right across the street is the Happy Jack Pancake House, as well as a Sunsations store. Super close to everything. I highly recommend to stay here and give them a try. I hope they will continue doing what they doing and not disappoint us Ocean City visitors! I like to stay closer to the top of north end of the boardwalk. Let's face facts - hotels in OC are overpriced dumps with poor service. This place is newer and I like the location. So, because it's newer, it is a little nicer than most OC hotels that are rundown. If I could give 3.5 stars I would but there are no bells and whistles here that would warrant more. There were some weird issues that might be because it is newer or because it was early in the season. Most issues concerned housekeeping type issues. There are are no couches in the rooms. So, if you have a guest (like a child), that can't share a bed, you're SOL. There are no cots or fold outs available because the rooms are too small. The floor in our room was a fake hardwood floor which was kind of weird. But I suppose that makes sense. There was only one regular coffee and one decaf in the room. Thankfully, one adult was able to function (barely) until they had their caffeine fix. The shampoo and conditioner had been opened. Maybe they're trying to make it more environmentally sound by not stocking the room with new products, but it made it seem that housekeeping is a little sloppy (maybe so, maybe not). For some reason, they move coffee pots upstairs out of the lobby into the room where they serve breakfast in the morning. Perhaps they don't have additional pots for the lobby!?!!. So, when looking for coffee, we had to venture back upstairs. Netflix app on the TV which they advertised didn't work (it rained a lot during our stay). Issues above aside, the bed was comfortable and I like the location. So, I'd stay again - but I'd only do it soon because I fear that the Fairfield Inn could become another typical OC hotel (overpriced, dated and marked by lackluster customer service). read more

By far, the absolute worst hotel we have ever stayed in!!!! At check in, nobody was at the desk to check us in, rooms are disgusting! In a whole week we were here, we were unable to get room service! It came down to us going to a store and getting laundry soap and washing our own towels! People have to leave their trash outside in hallways, because nobody will service the rooms!!! The complementary breakfast, hardly even served! People called in and there was nobody to make breakfast! WTH Marriott! We have been your loyal members for 18 years! Do not stay at this place!!! Watch out for 3 different charges, and employees who doesn't how to do their job. I have stayed at many hotels and I have never experienced this. I booked a week vacation for my parents and paid in full on may 20th for $1327 and also authorized for damage charges with my card so they don't pay for anything and when they were trying to check in and check out whoever the smartest person at the reception tried to charge their card. So today when they are checking out, my parents called me saying they need my card info which I gave and they charged me $1605 on top of what I have already paid back in may. Also $80 on my parents card. I called them then The lady named ray said "no we didn't charge your card $1605" so I'm like " then why I do have a charge on my account that happened today?" I mean what is wrong with you lady? How in the world you don't know how to do your job and why in the world anyone will keep her? Charging us 3 times isn't acceptable. I have disputed the last charge and I will not recommend this place to anyone. It's unbelievable!!!! Whoever the owner or manager is pls contact me!!!! read more

I have had the worse experience at this particular hotel. My children and I arrived late last night, and we're giving a hotel room overlooking a damn trailer park. Now to the hotel management's credit they attempted to accommodate me and move my room... However they just simply move us one floor up to another room with the same damn trailer park view. Buyer be aware, if they tell you it's a partial Bayview... That's nonsense. It's a view of a trailer park. The weather wasn't great today so we decided to go to the pool, but to our surprise the pool is no bigger than two king size beds. Awful. Do not stay in this hotel you will regret it. I attempted to change my hotel reservation, via Marriott corporate. However I quickly learned that refunds are up to the discretion of the Fairfield management. Needless to say they were not interested in providing me with any refund so that I could change hotels. What started out as a pleasant family vacation turn into a damn nightmare. read more

I LOVE Ocean City, but I'll admit--it's hard to find a hotel that doesn't feel dirty, old, and cost a million dollars. I am SO happy I found Fairfield Inn and Suites. It has a beautiful view of the bay, and it's 2 short blocks from the ocean. It's quiet, clean, and it seems like it's brand new. I love the location because it's so close to the beach without being right on top of everything. The view from the balcony is awesome! Breakfast is included, and we were really happy with the selection. It was a fairly typical breakfast spread, but it was perfect for our family. The hotel was pretty packed when we went, but they kept the breakfast area clean and well-stocked. I can't remember how much we paid, but I remember thinking that it was a decent price for Ocean City. We will definitely stay here again! read more

If you're looking to travel somewhere that feels safe and clean, this is not the place. None of the housekeepers wear masks as they turn over the rooms, and they don't wear masks when they see guests walking in the hallway. We spoke with the front desk, and masks were still not used. Up to 10 people can use the pool at a time, but that is WAY to many - there is no way you can stay 6 feet apart with that number. Also, the pool is filthy - the water is yellow, and there was a disposable mask covered in short little hairs floating in it, as well as what looked like a wet bloody tissue on the pool desk. read more

Management, Please give her a raise :) Update- wrote that when I was drunk but my review still stands. Great hotel, brand new. It's only been open 3 weeks. Yash, the gentleman when I was checking out was very kind as well. I definitely prefer staying at a chain hotel where you know it's clean and they actually change linens. I'd pay the price for this hotel any day. Trust me, you're better off booking this hotel or the Hilton, Holiday Inn, Courtyard Marriott etc. You do NOT want to stay at a 50/night dirty motel with bedbugs. Just google bedbug hotels ocean city. They had complimentary breakfast which most hotels do not offer.The entire staff was very nice and welcoming. Our room was very clean. It isn't beachfront but we got a nice bay view. They have a tiny indoor pool that has a cabana and can open up to become a rooftop pool. Great stay, would def recommend to my friends and come again. My room had two televisions. Overall 5 of 5 and I would pay the price anytime. Fairfield is also cheaper than the Hilton and courtyard Marriott their prices start at around 500/night. Good bones and great location but there are idiosyncrasies. First the pros. Good location, covered parking, newish building, standard Fairfield amenities. Idiosyncrasies: no outside shower or sand hose, extremely inconsistent housekeeping-the young lady from Bulgaria was terrible, the others were great. No towels in the pool area one day. Would stay again-good value. Could be four stars if they upped their game.Views: rooms on the south side look out over a trailer park but have expansive views of the Bay and a small view of the ocean. Rooms on the north side look out on a boat canal and condos but would have much less expansive views of the Bay. read more

My stay in this hotel was not pleasurable. The hotel is under 3 years old, this was my third and last time staying there. When I check in I requested a room with two queen beds and a balcony I received a handicap. I did not request a handicap room when I asked the manager to change my room they indicated there were no rooms available. Mysteriously a room became available, after I was attempting to call Marriott Customer Care, however the bathroom had rust around the tub, sink was stopped up toilet paper in toilet and wallpaper tearing from the ceiling because of leaks. I stayed in the room uncomfortably and contacted customer care. Of course customer service had the manager of the hotel contact me who offered me $100. I paid $616 for the room. She called with the standard jargon. I'm on my way to the BBB. I'm requesting all of my money for this uncomfortable stay. Mind you, all of the other guests seemed to receive what they requested--why treat me any differently. Been a customer if Marriott fir over 25 years. Not any more! read more

I stayed with my mother and daughters for an overnight. The hotel was clean and the rooms were comfortable and clean. Though the hotel met my expectations for a basic hotel the people who work here set it apart. We had excellent customer service and everyone was helpful, kind, and upbeat. This is my new favorite hotel in ocean city next to fagers island. This was my first stay at this hotel and although we only stayed one night i was highly impressed. The room , the customer service was all excellent. I wanted to stay an additional night but the rooms was sold out due to it being Memorial Day weekend. Michael at the front desk provided us with phenomenal service. I had booked my stay online and prepaid for the wrong day, and frantically called the hotel at 5:15 in the morning the day of our trip. He answered the phone and graciously made a series of calls to his supervisor and reservations staff to help us get a refund and get us on the waitlist for the night we needed, which was sold out. Thankfully someone cancelled, and we were able to stay in the room. The hotel is very new, about 3 months old, and is very clean and modern. Many of the rooms have nice bay views, and the hotel is a 2-block walk from the boardwalk at 25th street, right at the end. I loved how quiet the area was. 4 stars total because of the thin hotel room walls! We had a connecting room with a young family, and even through the 2 doors I could hear every word of their conversations. Otherwise, very clean room with comfortable beds and a great bathroom. I was nervous about this hotel because some of the comments mentioned the cleanliness of the rooms. I was so happy to find the complete opposite. We had a good stay. The room (and bathroom) was clean and perfect for our stay. We stayed in a room facing the water and it was so relaxing. They actually upgraded our room without me asking. What I will say is it was extremely humid in the room and hard to regulate the temperature, but that's to be expected at the beach. Would stay here again and recommend to others. read more

Hotel is very new. But I spent a lot more $ to try this place. It was too late at night to say anything but the bed wasnt clean. Dirty sandy sheets- I think the maid was lazy and didnt= change the sheets which was gross. Its pretty easy to tell if they were freshly laundered- They werent. The hot breakfast was not edible. The scrambled eggs- didnt taste like real eggs. the sausage was odd tasting. The only thing OK was the OJ. The balcony had a good view. Had some studid kids making noist in the halls until someone told them to shut up. All in all, Not worth the money read more

My husband and I spent our wedding night here and I can't say enough nice things about this place! The staff was friendly, our room was pristinely clean and in order, and the complimentary breakfast in the morning was delicious! We stayed at this hotel at the end of summer where there is not much people left on the beach and the hotels weren't fully booked. We had great service since the breakfast did not have any traffic and the parking was not full and the price can not be beaten. So if you're like me and have a room full of teenagers next to you - you can imagine what you get the listen to at 2 am. The pool is tiny (like shockingly small) and the breakfast is a joke. This past weekend I had to attend a cheerleading competition at the convention center and this Marriott was 4 mins away from it. This hotel was one of the best far as looks or slight luxury than most hotels in OC. Their rooms are more updated. The serve an amazing free breakfast from 6am to 10am. The only thing about this hotel is they only have 2 suites with 2 beds. All of their other rooms are King Beds with various styles. The rooms had a microwave and refrigerator and all of the rooms have a balcony. They have lots of parking in the front and back of the hotel. They have a indoor pool and fitness center on the 3rd floor (which was my floor and I hated the noise and the pool smell.) All of their staff was polite from the Breakfast attendants, front desk employees, and the random ones walking past. I really recommend this hotel if looking for a more updated feel than the normal OC Hotels, it's just s tad more experience. read more

The hotel is nice - modern looking and bright. However, for a new hotel, it was pretty dirty. Rooms were clean but the floors elevators stairs are filthy - so when you see that it makes you wonder what else may be left filthy. And the beds are very hard - all of us are complaining about aches from the beds. Won't stay here again. read more

Convienient hotel for Ocean City Stay. You do have to cross the highway to get to the beach, so it could be stressful with little kids, but it's not a long walk to the beach. Once on the beach there is a public restroom a block or two to the left at the tram station at 27th. The very end of the boardwalk. The life guards in this area were great. Some local food options in walking distance. So about the hotel itself- at first I was upset that there was sand in the sheets, but I suppose there's only so much you can get out of the washing machine at a beach resort. All other signs pointed to good maintenance. When we spilled and cleaned the floor with our own icy clean wipes there wasn't ANY black on the wipe, which I expect much worse in a hotel. So that impressed me. The included breakfast was pretty good. The kids loved the make your own waffles, there was plenty of fruit options, some cereal, breads, oatmeal and scrambled eggs, omelette and turkey sausage and bacon. Plenty to choose from. Covered parking, never had trouble getting a spot. No good views. There was a dock on one side and other hotels and the other side was a camper/trailer park. Pool is tiny, no shower to rinse off before going in. Gym is like two treadmills an elliptical and some weights. So not the hotel if any of that's what you want. But a pretty clean option with breakfast included and a few blocks from the beach. read more

If I could I'd give this no stars. Fairfeild is owned by Marriott and I expected better. Of course it looks beautiful and it appears clean. But remember you are there to sleep. Our first room we left a pear on the desk while we went to look for the pool. Came back to find hundreds of ants. We wiped them away and put the pear in the fridge. But the ants were everywhere so I requested a different room which they quickly gave to us. Unfortunately the beds creaked whenever anyone turned at night. Then the smoke detector was on the wall by the bed and it has stone light the flashed all night making getting to sleep difficult. I had to sleep with the sheet over my face. Lastly..the pool. The smallest pool I have ever seen, no way any swimming could happen it that pool. So my plea is this...if you are going to sport the Marriott brand remember the comfort and sleep ability should be considered in each and every room. read more

Sits right next to a trailer park and the bay is mosquitos and if no bugs then you choke on the repellent. So upset with how much Marriott wanted for my hard earned rewards to stay here. read more

Yessss!! Thank you for having this clean and modern hotel that is so convenient to the beach! I was struggling to find a really nice hotel by Ocean City, considering that there are alot of tourists and places may not have the time to renovate or thoroughly clean for that matter. I was so happy to find this discovery and it is only a short 2 block walk to the beach. The check in and check out was so easy and accommodating. I wish I knew the name of the lady with the long hair who helped us out. We called at about 1pm to see if we can get our room early and ready, and Alas, it is! That is always a huge plus especially after driving so long and wanting to visit the beach as early or as much as you can. We felt safe with their parking space as well. We had a small balcony which was great as well. The bathroom was super clean and appreciated the aesthetics that the shower knob was not directly under the shower head so you don't have to bend on or go under the water if you're already coming out. They have free wifi, and complimentary breakfast. Thank you so much for having veggie sausages. As someone who is starting to try and eat healthy, this was much appreciated. Their oatmeal was so good as well, with the honey or maple syrup that they had available. If i could have that syrup brand I would buy it! I wish I took a picture of it. The breakfast area was clean and so serene as the guests they had when we were there seem civilized and just trying to enjoy and respect the common area.
