This was a nice hotel stay for a quick trip to Columbus, IN. It's tucked off the street and near several restaurants and shopping options, including Texas Roadhouse that's across the street. My original room was reserved with a king bed and to check in early I opted for a room with two queen beds. The room was clean and provided a small refrigerator, coffee machine, personal bathroom items and plenty of storage. I was near the elevator but never experienced noise from guests coming and going. Breakfast was included, hot and cold items. Plenty of coffee, tea and other drinks, and the kitchen lounge area provided plenty of modern seating. I'd you need something small, there's a marketplace in the lobby with snacks and drinks, including alcohol. This hotel is close to downtown Columbus as well. We went there for dinner and it was an easy trip. Private parking lot and no charge for parking. This will be on my list for work/personal visits to Columbus. read more

On the last night of our long road trip we stayed at the Fairfield Inn and Suites in Columbus. Check in was a breeze; the employee was super nice and very helpful. We had a great room that was big and clean with a view of the parking lot. We were across from the elevator but we didn't hear any hall noises after 10 pm. It was a very pleasant stay. Breakfast was great; hot with lots of choices. A very sweet woman was working her butt off keeping things filled and keeping it clean. She was amazing! read more

Unacceptable how they treat military veterans. They will tell you it is Marroitt policy that you have to be an active military in orders to get the discount. This is untrue as I have call headquarters and they allow retires military on leisure discount. They demand you military orders if you want the discount which is disrespectful and against the main headquarters policy. Told me they would not allow me to use military leisure discount after it was already booked and ID provided once they learned I was there for sports event (which is allowed because it is on website and called corporate office). Manager Petal is very rude yelled at me as a customer because he "does not like the sports community in his hotels". I had this hotel booked for five weekends and he lost all booking because of the level of unprofessional and he told me "he was fine with not having sports people in the hotel". I have reached out to main office about him and will be reaching out to the sporting complex's to let them know not to advertise this hotel as an acceptable hotel option as he does not want the business. Any veteran or sporting team should avoid this hotel at ALL cost. Very unprofessional manager and extremely disrespectful to the military. read more

My better half chose this hotel - and he chose well. He originally chose with me in mind, based on the Starbucks location (just down the street), but that will be a separate review :) Ok - Fairfield = homerun. Clean hotel. Friendly staff - desk clerk took time to write a list of antique stores for him - thank you. You went above and beyond. Greeted every single time we came in lobby - genuinely greeted. I do not eat pork (allergic). Hotel staff took time point out their amazing spinach feta quiche for me during breakfast day one. Hotel breakfast was a very nice mix of options when we were there. Spinache feta quiche, ham and cheese croissant, belgian waffles, the usual scrambled eggs and sausage options plus more. Coffee was good. Bar - what a delightful bar maid. She was kind and funny and downright likable. Outside the bar area is a very nice seating patio - had it been warm, we would have taken drinks outside. Very well kept area. Texas Roadhouse is just across the parking lot (separate review). Be sure to go there if you stay here. See my review on it - I don't think you'll go wrong if you go. I don't usually write hotel reviews because, in all honestly, I take them for granted. I am fortunate to stay in many many 4 to 5 star hotels on a regular basis for work. The staff are always accommodating and the Fairfield Inn in Columbus is no different. But that's not what prompted this review... tonight I witnessed some very ungentlemanly individuals arguing with the concierge. Cindy was working the front desk by herself at approximately 1045pm when two men were yelling at her and accusing her of being unprofessional. As the argument escalated, Cindy asked the men to leave because of THEIR behavior. Apparently, one of the men tried to fish some fresh fruit out of the complimentary water with their bare hands. That is gross, and unacceptable in a post-covid USA. Good on Cindy for calling him out and putting the welfare of the rest of the hotel guests above the other. Additionally, the same man was also accused of hiding in the elevator and scaring Cindy... who does that? When these points were brought up to the other man, the father of the accused, not once did they deny these claims, which leads me to believe they were true. Cindy did not deserve to be talked to or treated the way she was treated, especially considering she was confronted by these two men while she was working alone after dark in an empty lobby. Hotels need more employees like Cindy. She asked two customers to leave the premises and was willing to lose their business... but by standing her ground and requesting them to leave, she ensured the safety and comfort for the rest of the guests. I feel better knowing that your employees aren't willing to turn a blind eye to unruly or disrespectful guests. If management or corporate would like to contact me regarding this incident, I am more than willing to defend the actions of your employee. read more

My husband, kids, and I got on the elevator with a very nice couple to get some breakfast. The elevator began to move but then suddenly slammed to a very hard stop! Yes, worse nightmare come to life, we were stuck in the elevator between floors! We hit emergency buttons and called hotel to get a very rude response. Eventually the fire department came and after 30 mins they got the doors open and we jumped down onto the second floor to get out. Did the hotel greet us and see if we were ok? Did they seem concerned at all? NOPE. Meanwhile, my back is screaming and I'm shaken from the stress of being stuck! I go to the desk where the lady basically tells me she was busy checking out guests I told her how unhappy I was with the lack of care and she just got defensive and I had to walk away. I tell the story to my brother who was in the breakfast area and he also tells the lady she needs to take care of us. This turns into her calling the cops on us cops told me it was a messed up situation but hotel still kicked us out. So, apparently if you get stuck in an elevator, don't get upset when no one cares... In addition, there were no safety or operating certificates in the elevator. After going to the DHS website I discovered that their operating certificates expired over a year ago! The elevator is a safety hazard and isn't even properly inspected! My family was in danger and the hotel did not care! read more

Do not stay here. Our room was smelly and the carpets dirty. The elevator broke and trapped our family for 40 minutes. When it was pointed out that the elevator lacked it's necessary posted certificates, the hotel called the police and kicked us all out. I wish I were making this up or exaggerating. Way better places to stay in the same plaza.. read more

Nice hotel located by Sam's Club it offers breakfast and has a restaurant in the evening. It is near a main road so it is not as quiet as I'd like. The hotel is near quite a few restaurants. The staff is very friendly. The pool is a salt water pool. They also have an exercise room and outdoor area. The rooms are clean and comfortable. I would give them more stars if the windows held out more of the traffic noise. It wasn't a bad stay. I would recommend this hotel. read more

Great hotel, stayed here before an IU Football game, about 45 minutes from Bloomington. Hotel was very clean and staff was friendly, breakfast was excellent. Fitness room was better than most, DB's went up to 50# which was nice. Noise level is the only thing keeping this from a 5 star rating. Road noise and noise from other guests was pretty high through our stay. If you're a light sleeper you might want to have something to drown out the outside noise. All in all, great place to stay. read more

I called and asked if my daughter could park her car in their lot over the weekend and I was happy to pay a fee. She is at IU and was going to Chicago with us - planned to meet in Columbus. They said that she could park there and they would not charge us. Plans changed and we did not have to do that. But, they were very friendly about it! read more
