If you're reading this you must go!!! Me and my fiancée went…read morefor date night it was amazing the glow in the dark mini golf was so much fun it was 28 dollars for the entire course and then we decided we didn't want to leave so we got a game card games are so cheap it's only 1.00 for most and the most expensive was 5 and that was for bowling but I loved the photo booth it was 4 dollars that we were able to do on the game card which was really nice and the young ladies in there were the absolute best very sweet I will definitely be back I took a peek inside the birthday room it looks so cool so if you like horror themed and glow in the dark I would 100% recommend going and it's perfect for children

I'd give it 3.5 stars. I got the Trio package for our 3 boys that included a round of mini golf,…read more$15 in arcade game credits and a round of laser tag. The arcade games are pretty expensive and they blew through the $15 in less than 15 mins. The mini golf course was short and compacted on the main floor so the courses were not as fancy or intricate as some larger outdoor mini golf courses. The boys finished all 18 holes in less than 30 mins all by themselves. The laser tag was fun too. The vests were pretty big and heavy and it looked so big our littlest guy but he held his own. It seemed crowded when the summer camp group of kids were there, but when they all left, it wasn't crowded at all. Coming from LA, where anything fun is crowded, it was nice to not have to wait in long lines. We wanted to try the laser maze, but it wasn't working. The workers were all teenagers, and the manager guy looked maybe early 20's but they were all helpful. It was fun to spend a couple hours in the hot afternoon being indoors.

This museum is AMAZING! Clean, quiet, open 364 days a year and IT'S FREE! If you are passionate…read moreabout history and like guns you will absolutely love this museum. I went on a Saturday but learned that during the week there is an extremely knowledgeable curator. I highly recommend this museum. Also they have a range at the museum so definitely don't forget to check that out as well.

The firearm collection is very extensive and goes beyond my highest expectations. We were immediately greeted at the front desk by Zack. He was very informative about the museum. 98% of the museum is made up of donations. About 8,000 firearms donated are in storage. Bill, one of the staff, was very helpful and talked about James Joseph "Whitey" Bulger Jr.. I was impressed at the arrangement of the firearms and how they were organized in a meaningful way. It would take many hours to go through and read all the exhibits. We spent about two hours there. I was very impressed with the exhibit of weapons used in Hollywood movies. I adored the exhibit with taxidermy animals especially the bear. The Buffalo Bill and George Washington exhibit were very eye catching as well. The most spectacular moment in the museum was hearing about and see an exhibit piece owned by one of America's most notorious criminals, Charles Manson. The museum curator, Ernie, gave me vivid details of how the gun was confiscated by the police. Admission to the museum is free and one of Fairfax's finest and unique local attractions. Strongly recommend this museum.

I usually enjoy browsing HomeSense for unique home items, but my recent visits left me…read moredisappointed. When I checked out on my last trip, the young gentleman at the register kept yawning and barely acknowledged me -- it came across as lacking basic manners and customer service. To make matters worse, a picture frame I bought turned out to be damaged in the corner when I unwrapped it at home. When I brought it back to return, the sales associate spoke to me in an accusatory tone and insisted that I had damaged it. I explained that I discovered the damage only after opening the packaging, but she refused to accept the return. Thankfully, I asked to speak with the Manager, who checked my receipt, realized I had purchased it just the day before, and resolved the situation professionally. I appreciated the manager stepping in, but the interaction should never have escalated to that point. Glad it was ultimately corrected, but the sales associate definitely needs better training in communication, customer courtesy, and how to handle returns without blaming customers.

Anyway...while he was at his appt., I decided to walk around the shopping center (FairLakes Promenade). I had seen Home Sense before but never got around to checking it out. Finally, got to do that today. At first glance, it looked like it was a furniture store. Yes, they have lots of furniture but a deeper look showed there was so much more. There are towels, bedding, kitchen utensils, household cleaning items, rugs and decorative items. My intention was just to look not buy. However, when I saw the food items, I realized that I needed a shopping cart. Things that caught my eye...imported pasta, pasta sauces, spices, sweets and a cleaning formulation for shower doors and mirrors. Truthfully, there were other items that attracted me but I exercised will power. For example, I saw a lovely vase but my sensible side said "we don't need another vase." There was artwork but sensible side said "We have enough of that and only so much wall space". When I went to check out, the cashier was friendly. I found out, when he tried to get me to sign up for a credit card, that they are part of a conglomerate that includes TJ Maxx. No, we don't need another credit card! My haul ended up costing $35 plus change. Once we were home, I showed my husband my haul. He asked what it cost and was pleasantly surprised. Aw, gee! I'm so proud of myself :D So, no regrets for paying Home Sense a visit!

The Juniper Gallery has various types of prints available - anything from Vintage Advertisements…read more(Mad Men era), to civil war pictures. They categorize availability/image types as: Plan59 (40's/50's car art and ads), Shorpy (glass plate prints, mostly architecture some civil war, etc.), Vintagraph (World's Fair images), and Fruit Crate (40's/50's era fruit crates ads). The quality of their prints are, "fine-art prints on museum-grade French and German archival paper". I am not entirely sure what that means, but it sounds fancy... and from what I've seen they look great (I've got an 8X10 from there, so I can't comment on anything larger, although I'm sure those look fine too). I love the Vintagraphs and Shorpy the best, but that's just a personal preference of mine. Some people just prefer creepy fruit crate kids... too each his own, eh? I'm drawn towards old timey photos as well as posters made by the government explaining the importance of brushing your teeth, hah! I haven't seen if Juniper Gallery has a storefront or not, I've driven by this location a few times and couldn't tell what the deal was (and would prefer buying at the gallery instead of online since my complex doesn't have a clue how to handle packages). Ordering online though is a cinch, and with reasonable prices to boot. Check out the gallery website, and look into the history of Shorpy (a real kid who worked in the coal mines) too... the Shorpy blog uploads new images almost daily, and were apparently Time Magazines #15 Best Blog of 2010. Reason I mention the Shorpy blog is because you can order a print from any image uploaded there through the Juniper Gallery (of the four Shorpy is updated the most frequently). If you are an old soul like me, and if have interest in what D.C. (as well as NYC and other cities) looked like in 1912 and earlier, then the Juniper Gallery, and Shorpy ("the 100 year old blog") is the place for you. :)

The check-in was smooth and I checked in through the Hilton Honors app. Since I car pooled with a coworker, I decided to check in with the front desk and ask well. The guy who checked in asked if I wanted 750 hhonirs points or free breakfast (or $10 credit). I opted for the food incentive since I am staying 4 nights and it was well more worth it. The room was pretty basic but clean overall. With the exception of the tv remote which was filthy. I used at least three times to clean that remote. It was really dirty and the wipes were black by the time I wiped it off. Eww. They only have two types of rooms so no upgrades really. A King and two queens. Th free breakfast bonus was nice. Perhaps since I was in golf status or it was that manager who checked me in. I ordered the three egg omelet the next morning and it was great. The mini frig, microwave, and mini Keurig machine was also a plus bit their K cups were not good. A tip is bring your own or buy some if you have any personal coffee preference. I may stay here again in the near future.

The room had a QR code that told you what was available as far as the fact that there is a restaurant and the fact that there is room service and the number to dial four room service, but no menu. When we attempted to dial room service, there was no answer. When we called the front desk, we were told that no room service was available. Had to come down, order it and carried up ourselves. The place was nearly empty, and yet the bartender seemed in attentive at best. I ordered food at the bar to be taken up to my room and while I waited, I explored the rest of the hotel. The pool is out of service, and Hilton is not in the habit of notifying people of that on the website when they go to book. The Wi-Fi was evident, but for whatever reason it never took me to the sign in page on my computer, so I was never able to actually log into it. To be fair that may be an issue with my browser and I didn't have a second browser installed on my laptop. Although I understand that there are times you can be understaffed, and there are times that facilities can be broken down. That said, I spent extra to stay at a Hilton Garden Inn that had amenities such as room service in a pool, instead of at a Hampton Inn, which is lower scale. I haven't yet tasted the food, but based on the lack of activity here, I am dubious as to how fresh it will be when it finally comes. I am praying that over the next two days of our stay they managed to impress us enough for me to come back and adjust this review. But for an initial impression, I'm giving them a two star strictly for the comfort and cleanliness of the facility.
