We live 20 miles away. We are AAA members (which paid off yesterday). I called AAA and they sent Zac's Towing and Recovery. He was so nice! He looked at the battery and it was corroded to the point the car had to be towed to Ford Service. We just had our car serviced in another State two months ago! Finding a business that accepts glass for recycling has become an adventure almost like spelunking,…read morenot just in finding the building, but in the exploration to get to the building. The small town of Powell, Wyoming (population approximately 6500) managed to surprise me with having a relatively new addition to their acceptable items for recycling -- glass. This center, having just begun accepting glass early in 2025, has a machine that crushes glass into sand and gravel, gravel which they will then sell. The center accepts any kind of glass and it isn't even necessary to remove the lids, labels, plastic rings, or whatever else might be stuck to the glass. The only requirement is for the bottle or jar or whatever it is be empty. I wasn't familiar with the location and the gps took me on a circuitous route past fields, ranches, farms. It was all rather scenic. It wasn't until I was leaving that I figured out the gps decided I needed to explore because the main road and more direct route was less than a mile away. I like the adventure and it's unsettling to think the GPS knew me well enough to know that. The building was a surprise. It was the size of a large garage and did not have an industrial feel despite its name. What it did have was a steady stream of cars, dropping off everything you would expect a recycling center to accept and nice people ready to accept it all. I already have the next boxes of glass ready to drop off and I think I might take the long way around again.
