Visited Rome last week and while enjoying Campo de Fiori and Taba Cafe saw this place. I just started learning Italian half a year ago so thought I'd drop in and see if I could find a modern Italian novel that doesn't have post-modern Italian, but something I could reliably derive grammar and vocab from. So I tried my best to get that across to the bearded gentleman who I suspect is the proprietor. What a great guy. His English may not be perfect, but it's far better than my Italian! We went from that brief exchange to some chatting about Italian cinema and Monica Vitti. He pointed out the cool vintage movie posters decorating this place.
May seem like a little thing, but experiences like this just made me love visiting Rome all the more. Grazie mille! read more
