Toby is always flexible with scheduling, willing to accommodate any unexpected changes. After each lessons, she provides helpful weekly practice instructions for the kids to follow. She also gives out practice prizes to encourage them. We regularly attend recitals with all of Toby's students, both young and adults. She offers a variety of music for the kids to choose from and is a talented musician who composes and performs. I appreciate that Toby goes above and beyond by teaching my kids how to compose using Garage Band and letting them try out her synthesizer when they want to explore beyond just playing the piano.

Needless to say, not only is she very professional at piano, but also as most important is that she is very patient and nice and knows well how to encourage and teach our kid. Our daughter likes Nina a lot and she is really making progress and she will have a recital for the holiday celebration soon with Nina co-playing. Looking at the music journey where we started at 0 and now my kid can play lovely and quite complicated songs, it's just amazing, we hope with Nina the journey will bring us to further exciting milestones! Looking forward to the recital! Thanks Nina!

My 5 year old daughter has been taking lessons with Nina for the past year and loves it. Now, she…read morelooks forward to it every week. I can still remember that she was nervous in her first lesson with Nina. So I quietly told Nina before the class that she was a big Disney fan, and she blew her away by surprising her with Disney music. My littler girl was super excited and telling me how much she wanted to learn piano with Nina in the car on our way home. That's the time my little girl start liking piano. Nina is not only a teacher who always makes her lessons interesting, but also a good mentor who taught my little girl right learning attitude toward music, or any other things she learns in school. My little girl and Nina became friends both in lessons and after lessons. Additionally, Nina is very professional, having both her Bachelor's and Master's degree from top music schools in Piano major. We can make sure that my daughter's talent won't be ruined by those piano teachers who didn't have much professional training before and just teach for money ending up destroying children's potential piano careers. We are so blessed that we met Nina and have her to be my little girl's piano teacher. Our family are obviously huge fans of Nina's piano studio, and my 5 yr-old and I would both recommend her lessons to anybody who wants to take fun yet professional piano lessons.

As the parents of two boys who made a switch over from music school to private lessons with Dr…read more Natalie in 2025, we have seen first-hand the amazing progress that can be achieved through the instructional methodology that she has developed and her emphasis on good technique. The amount of growth in a few months has surpassed what we've seen from our kids in the past couple of years. They enjoy their time learning in class, listening to their peers play in the monthly studio performances, and also challenging themselves to pick up more techniques and pieces. They have gotten a holistic perspective towards music (through listening and singing assignments!) which has helped them with their playing skills. We are also better equipped to be able to supervise their practice, being able to see what is being taught and what their mistakes are, and gaining the fundamental knowledge to help them as non-players of the instrument. We would gladly recommend Dr. Natalie to any family with children who are serious about learning the piano.

Wonderful piano and violin lessons with supportive teachers!…read more The service here is warm, attentive, and very affordable. The school mainly focuses on children's learning and also offers great options for adults who want to pick up a hobby after work. I took piano lessons with Teacher Sue, and everything was going smoothly. Later, when the COVID pandemic hit, the lessons switched to online, and I gradually lost some of my passion. However, both Teacher Sue and another online instructor kept encouraging me. Even when I had to pause my lessons for a while due to a busy work schedule, they remained very supportive. Now that I'm ready to start practicing piano again, this piano school is still my number one choice! Also, Sue is very skilled in violin as well, if you're interested in learning violin, you can expect excellent instruction here too!

I also believe that Ms. Mary and Ms. Trisha, who run NCMAC have a similar philosophy where the children and their interests are at the center of all their decisions. Recitals at NCMAC are about doing your very best, but finding true pleasure in it, and that's how they run NCMAC too. Genuinely thrilled to have found this place and these teachers!
