Even with a packed house, he was the definition of grace under pressure--attentive, informative, and genuinely cheery. While NYC has endless dining options, we'll be returning to The Ellington specifically demanding that we sit in his section again. Nahid N., you are the man. If you're fortunate enough to be invited to an event it's a beautiful building. I can see an aerial view from my apartment window. I've taken photos of the sculptures that are at the entrance. It's such a beautiful architectural work. The details are fascinating. It's sad the mural that I photographed on May 1st, 2018 is gone. There's currently a Black and White of a Woman Holding up her fist on that wall. It's sad when my favorite murals are removed. I'm so glad I took my photos! I highly recommend you visit to get your photos before the artwork is gone.

The long farmstyle table is simple yet elegant. We were treated to a 4 course meal prepared by none other that Chef Rodney. First courseT was a Montauk Fluke Crudo snap peas with dilly beans, watercress and meyer lemon. The cool thing about the Fluke was that 3 hours before being served it was swimming off the coast. NOW THAT'S FRESH! The second course was shaved brussel sprout salad with cherry tomatoes, scallions, feta, dill and tzatziki. This was BY FAR the nights favorite. This dish is what's right with all foods Greek; its wonderful flavors bursting like fireworks onto our palates. Course three featured Ricotta Gnudi Primavera with cherry tomatoes, artichokes, summer squash and herbs. The final course was Whole roasted potatoes, confit fennel and pork jus. IT WAS AMAZING! It was Pork Jus(t done right!) For the finale, we were served White Chocolate Gazpacho wit watermelon sorbet and slivered pistachos. I poured the gazpacho over the dark chocolate birthday cake we were having and it was SO GOOD, others followed suit. The watermelon sorbet tasted like actual real watermelon straight from the rind. It was so cool and refreshing and a wonderfully light way to end the meal. Aside from the wonderful meal, the serving staff was pleasant, professional and attentive. Even upon leaving the building, the staff and bartender on the first floor thanked me for coming and hoped I'd come again. That was a nice and unexpected touch. Chef Rodney, you were amazing. Let me just say that this woman's work and reputation precede her...back in July, I asked for a recommendation to a charcuterie board company in a local FB group...and almost every single person recommended Krewe de Fromage. Well thank goodness for neighbors with amazing taste. Jen has now done three boards for me, including a custom Christmas board and sweets spread (see photo) and they have all been spectacular. Not only is she sweet, friendly and so so punctual with pickup/delivery, she caters to ALL your dietary restrictions. I don't eat pork, and many of my friends don't eat beef, and somehow she finds us the most delicious meats and cheeses every single time. Everything is fresh and HIGH quality. She also has me hooked on her custom (yes she custom makes items for her boards) Jalapeño Honey. I now have a jar in my cabinet that I am absolutely addicted to. If you need an amazing board, grazing table etc look no further. You will absolutely not be disappointed.

I recently had my daughter's sweet sixteen this past Sunday 10/12/2025. Talking to Lisa is the worst and almost non existent unless you are speaking money. We had our event planned for 7pm. We were told our vendors can come at 5 the earliest to set up because there was an event prior to hours. My decor team and DJ arrived at 5 in the pouring rain only to come to locked doors and no lights on being denied entry. When reached out to Lisa to ask can my team and dj in, we were told to stand in the rain until 6pm. When asked can we at least put stuff in the lobby so stuff would not get wet we were still told no. After asking over and over finally close to 6 pm the dj n vendor were allowed to placed their products and equipment and the bottom of the steps. Smh. Now when reaching the venue after 6 to begin set up nothing was prepared just chairs and tables. No chafer sets to put food out nothing. I will not recommend this venue to a soul. Lisa in my opinion speaks stern and very rude. Reaching out to her is difficult because you receive responses later. New management would not be a bad idea. The only nice staff in the establishment was the security team.
