Great ceremony!! The experience and setting were excellent. Catering was provided and included bagels and other breakfast items.

Nice facility but Food way over prepared and over seasoned. But a great Chocolate cake.

The Presidential Ballroom was the perfect size for our 110 guest wedding. Set up for the reception and ceremony were superb- fast and efficient. The staff were extremely courteous and professional. Everything was done according to what was discussed. Food and drink in the bridal and grooms suits exceeded our expectations- we never had to ask for any refills. Food was excellent- better than what we expected for wedding catering. The cake was set up so beautifully and served fast. We were given the option of storing our wedding things in the bridal suite and manager's office, which helped us to no end with set up. The cost of everything was reasonable, especially considering we were holding a wedding in Manhattan. We will definitely be recommending Faculty House as a wedding venue for all the reasons listed above, but mainly for Louise Castellano, our contact person. She was amazing beyond words. Louise was always courteous, professional, and timely in her responses. She took detailed notes every time we asked for anything and was extremely accommodating with our requests. On the day of, everything (yes, everything!) was done according to plan. For example, we had wanted the chairs set up with smaller rows the reception and decided not to go with a small table at the front of the ceremony for the officiant. We told Louise at the rehearsal. Next day, ceremony setup was exactly as we talked about. We had given Louise an itinerary of the ceremony and reception, and she had that in her hand the whole day. She knew where everyone and everything should be and was always easy to find when we needed her. She was always present but not overbearing or in the way. We will DEFINITELY be recommending Faculty House to all our engaged friends. We will tell them to request Louise. We are supremely grateful for everything she did for us. read more

Columbia Faculty House dining room is a gem hidden on a high floor above Morningside Park, tucked behind the SiPA, Law and Business Schools. Faculty House is a private dining room open to students, faculty and alumni. The restaurant offers delectable appetizers, main courses and deserts, along with respectable wines. The venue is pristine. The service is simple, buffet often at lunchtime. The views should you venture onto the balcony worth it and are spectacular. You are bound to run into colleagues and engage in courteous dialogue. All around this is a unique and quaint locale for Columbia folk to gather for a pleasant and intimate gathering, an altogether worthwhile and inexpensive experience. read more

The Faculty House is a lovely venue for a wedding in the city. The view from the 4th Floor terrace (over Morningside Park) is to die-for, and the guests at our wedding couldn't stop raving about it. The food was also excellent, and the Faculty House partners with a phenomenal cake-baker as part of its standard wedding package. Be aware that you need to rent a dance floor for the 4th Floor, if you want to have dancing, in addition to paying an extra fee to rent that floor, but the view is well worth it. The management staff did a great job executing all the details and working with our other vendors on the day of the wedding. The planning process during the year leading up to the wedding was not always so smooth. We got a fair bit of mis-information from the Faculty House (e.g. about how many guests we could fit in the room for dinner and dancing, about the typical layout of the room, etc.) and the sales staff/coordinator we worked with was often not responsive to our inquiries. In the end, we went with our own assessment of the place and the advice of other vendors (e.g. the florist), and things turned out beautifully on the day-of. We will always have wonderful memories of our wedding here! read more

The Journalism School hosted a post-panel dinner at Faculty House. This is my second time working with them, and I never fail to walk away impressed. Our dinner went off without a hitch - delicious food, wonderful staff who were extremely friendly and accommodating, and a wonderful atmosphere. The catering manager, Leslie, was quick to respond to last minute requests, and the manager on duty, Jose, was there to assist me where needed. The staff is what brings them up to 5-Star status. Our guests said this was the favorite part of their night, and I will most certainly be working with them again soon. Choose Faculty House for an elegant and professional experience. read more

I know what you're going say, I know I go on and on about Columbia undergrads and avoiding them like the plague... However, the Faculty House cafeteria is an oasis in enemy territory. The Morningside Avenue entrance isn't always open, so, the best entrance is through the Wien courtyard on 116th between Amsterdam and Morningside Avenue. You'll have to weave your way around back. Once through the doors and up the stairs... A bright community-table-style cafeteria with non-cafeteria-grade food. It's all very tasty, even the things you'd expect to be only so-so are surprisingly acceptable and good (like the thin crust personal pizza... As long as you get it PLAIN). I've been and had a wonderful quiet lunch, and other times have been stuck next to loud excitable South-American SIPA students... But because they weren't little snot-nosed undergrads they totally responded to my STFU stare and apologized by getting me a cup of coffee. *le swoon* read more

My first time at Faculty House was at an orientation cocktail party for entrance into Columbia Business School. I was in awe of my new classmates and faculty but the winner was the beautiful terrace at Faculty House. So a year later as my husband and I talked of getting married, I took him to campus and Faculty House and he loved it too. It has an ivy league charm but is not stuffy. The venue coordinator Leslie is an amazing Southern belle with NYC class and taste who made sure every last detail was taken care of. The chef did a fantastic job - the items at the tasting were scrumptouse and remained consistently so at the wedding as well. The entire Faculty House staff made the event a memorable one because of their attention to detail and close personal care to all of our guests. Many people warned that things can go unexpectedly awry at weddings, but the staff at Faculty House essentially made sure that no such thing happened. You guys are amazing and I have already recommended this venue to all of my friends! read more

The newly renovated Faculty House has just re-opened. We attended a reception recently and I was very impressed. The space is beautiful - very smart in style and functionality. There are four floors, with a variety of options for meetings and receptions - from small boardrooms to large banquet setting. The fourth floor has a terrace with skyline views - really delightful in the evening. The food was very good, presentation top-notch and service was terrific. read more

We hosted a brunch birthday party on the beautiful 4th floor of Faculty House in September. The event could not have been better - the food was delicious, including a made-to-order omelet station and yogurt parfaits. The staff was incredibly accommodating and helped set up our balloons and decorations. It was a beautiful day with spectacular views of the city. Our guests lingered on the terrace all afternoon. I would definitely recommend the new Faculty House for any event. read more

Wow, what a wonderful place to host an event! I hosted 100+ people at an event on Saturday night at Faculty House and it was absolutely perfect. The food was excellent, both choice and quality. The physical layout is beautiful as it's recently undergone a rehab. The terraced 4th floor room was the best. The service, from the party planner to the servers, was impeccable and focused on making things easy for me so that I could enjoy the event. I can't say enough wonderful things about this venue. Highly recommend for weddings, parties, b'nai mitzvah. An excellent choice all around. read more

Recently I had an event in this venue. Anyone would think because it is affiliated with Columbia University it has some type of prestige. The university perhaps but not this specific venue. The catering staff who works here is completely disheveled and unkept. It is very difficult to communicate with them since about 75 percent of them do not speak english. The catering manager is one of the rudest individuals anyone can encounter and was not willing to accomodate none of my request. He spoke in spanish to his staff and perhaps was not communicating our request correctly. In our visits to the venue before the event he was very pleasant in showing the facilities. However the day of the event this "gentleman" if I can call him that was a different person. The male staff gawked at the female attendees of my event making them feel very uncomfortable. I was recommended this venue and despite the food served was of good quality it is a disgrace this university hires individuals who have no manners,chauvinistic and with poor appearance. The place is absolutely beautiful however the quality of the staff is absolutely poor. read more
