    Park Models Direct

    Park Models Direct

    (1 review)

Park Models Direct uses Bait & Switch pricing tactics on their website. The price you see on the…read moresite is the bait. At no point in the sales process will you ever see any pricing for the options that you might want. HVAC, ceiling fans, furniture, color packages, and just about any other basic items that you might need or want is considered an option by Park Models Direct. You will never see any itemized price list to know what they are charging you. The park model that we were interested in was listed on the site at about $36,000. We were told to select options and although we asked about prices several times and requested an itemized cost breakdown of options we were never provided this information. The cost of our park model rocketed up to "about $60,000" according to the sales rep. The low price on the website is the bait and the options that you can't get any transparency on pricing information is the switch to the higher price. You will spend a lot of time and work in the sales process while the sales company hopes that you will get emotionally invested and pay their higher prices. My requests for an itemized price breakdown of what we were paying for were made via phone and email. All requests for a transparent review of prices were ignored. I was given the hurry up and let's get that credit application submitted for financing reply without any effort to provide my lady or I the pricing info that we requested. After my experience with Park Models Direct I would offer 3 pieces of advice: 1. Don't fall for the "let's get your deposit in fast to hold the last unit available at that price" BS. We were told that there were "only 2 units left of the Park Model that we wanted. One was pending sale so that left only one available." Does this hustle sound familiar? But the salespeople are pretty good so watch out! After making a $5,000 deposit / down payment we later learned that if you want any options (who doesn't want options?) then delivery was at least 100 days out. The initial hustle to get your down payment is bad business, don't fall for it. After we decided that we didn't want to do business with these people our inquiries for the return of our deposit went unanswered. Voicemails and emails that used to be returned quickly were no longer important to Park Models Direct once we wanted our $5,000.00 returned. As of this writing I still have no indication as to when I will get my money back. Park Models Direct believes that your money becomes their money once you make a deposit. We never even submitted our credit app since the price was ridiculous and we couldn't get any honest information on our costs and an itemized price sheet on options. Our deposit cleared the bank immediately but Park Models Direct doesn't want to know you if you want your money back. 2. You might want to discuss options with your significant other. Don't do it. Park Models Direct wants to do the sales thing where they get you emotionally invested. Don't fall for that hustle. Determine all pricing on Everything and get it in writing (which they won't do) before getting your lady/man involved in the process. 3. The final piece of advice that I would offer regarding Park Models Direct is just save yourself the pain and suffering of this cheesy sales process. Don't just walk away from Park Models Direct. RUN! You can get cheaper, more honest, transparent deals that will deliver your Park Model much sooner. Speaking of delivery, don't even try to get the $4,000 freight charge explained. Just one of many hidden charges in the bait and switch game by Park Models Direct.

Nope, not again. This was our third time using Collegiate movers and is the worst moving experience…read morewe have had. For reference we have lived 5 times over the last six years. Asked for a quote, received it, but did not get anything in writing. Adrian said he needed $1200, for deposit, but explained there is a 3% charge for credit cards and asked for Zelle or Venmo payments. By the time we transferred the money over to that account, for the deposit m, the deposit was. $1500,. Thus was to be applied at the end. He had us send the money to his wife, not even to a business account.. Still nothing in writing, asked for this to be in writing, he sent an email with grey type on a white background. There was little communication after that. Even after reaching out the Friday before the move set to be on Tuesday, there was no response. He calls after 2 on Monday, to say the truck is getting repaired and still not back asking to adjust our move date. We had a short window, but was able to shift it a day. Asking us for places to stop for the night, putting their poor planning onto us. When they called to confirm the time was firm, they asked what kind of carts were available to move stuff out. They used a hotel cart that belonged to our building and got a shopping cart out of the alley, because they did not have a dolly or anything to move things with. I was surprised they had moving blankets at this point. They arrived 30 minutes later the time they were supposed to arrive and the set time we had access to the freight elevator. After showing them what they had to move, I suggested they not leave the truck where they had it parked, that things might walk off. They did not move it, felt it was okay (this was in Chicagoland). We made the block to see they left it there. They called when they finished moving out, no other communication until move in day. They sent a message the day if move in. They said they would be at the move in about noon and would give a call when they were 30 minutes out. At 1pm, we received that call, they were 30 minutes out. They arrived without a lock on the back. When asked, they said they park it so it is tight against a wall. We helped them unload the truck, because we were worried about the incoming rain. We changed nothing about our packing. Until this move we have only had one cereal bowl break. This time we had multiple glasses, a platter, a 5 gallon antique water jug and more. Also, completely missing whole boxes and at last count, at least $1,000 of our belongings. Several of which are family heirlooms that cannot be replaced. When we went to pay, Adrian wanted to add $450 for gas, to what he stated when he gave the estimate, was a fixed rate and is in the email he sent that is barely readable. Then wanted to change the additional credit card charge from 3% to 4%. I did the math for him and rounded up a few dollars, just to be done and stop the conversation.

The vehicle ran out of fuel. The owner spilled diesel in my vehicle and all over my driveway. My list goes on. I hate it for the 2 employees because they were doing the best they could with what they had. My items were not wrapped, strapped down and my boxes were thrown around without care. The owner was the most unprofessional person and considering how well they did in the past, I am truly disappointed. I wouldn't use them again if they paid me. I wish I could give negative stars. I cannot replace what they damaged.
