As other reviewers have stated, the staff in here is rude and unfriendly and that became apparent on my first time stepping foot in here. For a small, local bookstore I would hope for more but that just is not the case here. The first time I ever visited this store, I had an unpleasant experience. There were a man and woman sitting down behind a small counter each looking down at their cell phones, and never once did they say hello or even give a smile. Instead, I was met with the words "Did you need some help?" in a hasty tone of voice by the woman who was there. The entire experience was awkward and she seemed to be bothered by the fact that I was even in there. Let's just say I couldn't get out of there fast enough. The man never seemed to look up from his phone and as soon as I was handed my receipt, the first thing the woman did was get back on her phone. My second time going in here was pretty much the same thing. The same woman was working when I went in and just as before, she was rude and unpleasant. I'm not sure if she is the owner or not but if she is, she needs a serious lesson in how to treat customers and how to present herself. I wish I could go on and on about great this local little bookstore is but that would not set right in my conscience. The store is small and didn't seem to have much variety, but I'm sure you could easily order what you need. Local or not, I'm sticking with Barnes and Noble. At least there, they know the meaning of customer service and friendliness.

Fact& Fiction, downtown Missoula, MT. Great place to expand the palate of the mind while supporting local businesses.

Adorable place with vast selection of Fiction and Nonfiction- of all genres. One of my favorite parts about this indie book nook, was the large local representation, highlighting authors from Missoula and around Montana! It narrowed my decision for sure; because when in town, support the locals (right?!). I picked up "The Flood Girls" by Richard Fifield. Really excited to read it when it comes up in my queue.

As far as bookstores go, this one is good. Bottom level are the books, top level has the "Griz…read moreGear." I always like to collect travel memorabilia, and since I stayed right by the university I figured to get something from UM. Well lit and clean. Can't ask for much more. Oh, and an added bonus: no sales tax in MT!

The Bookstore is pretty typical as college bookstores go. A good measure of everything. They seem…read moreto do most of their business on text books which is hard going for sure. The pretty much have a bit of everything here art supplies, food, computer stuff, fiction, non-fiction, and griz wear. Which brings me to the reason why I give the bookstore three stars. As the primary purveyor of clothing for alumni, current students, and sports fans you would think that they would carry a variety of items for a variety of customers? Right? Wrong! Every single one of the clothing items that they have for the University of Montana says something like this: The University of Montana GRIZZLIES CARTOON BEAR PAW PRINT (seriously? I never went to a football or basketball game in the time that I went to school, does everyone have to sport the visual image of the stupid mascot???) This I find to be ridiculous and is the main reason that I have never bought a single piece of clothing from my alma matter. Instead I have a collection from OTHER colleges that I have never attended but can live with the dignified message conveyed by the simple name of the university and the academics it implies. In short: The selection of clothing is less than spectacular for someone who isn't a huge sports fan.
