Sugaring is an interesting, up and coming technique in California, although it is used around the world and has been for centuries we are just starting to see this method really become available. As far as pain goes removing the hair was painless for me but the spreading of the sugar felt a little uncomfortable. Where with waxing the application of wax is painless and the removal is uncomfortable. The main difference between the two, that I noticed is that I had less hair grow back after my first sugaring. I tried sugaring instead of waxing because my friends (in various other SoCal cities) all really enjoyed the results. And I am a fan too! So I definitely recommend westlake sugaring and Jennifer for any hair removal! Take this opportunity to try sugaring and chances are you will not go back to waxing.

A couple of months after my initial service, I reached out to schedule another service. I texted earlier in the morning but didn't receive a response throughout the day. I followed up again before 5 PM, and when I tried calling, the call went directly to voicemail after two rings. From my perspective at the time, I wasn't sure whether my messages had been received, whether she was unavailable, or whether she simply did not want to continue working with me. That uncertainty is what prompted me to reach out and ask what was going on. I do want to acknowledge the additional context she provided in her response to this review. She explained that she was very sick that day and had stepped away from her work phone so she could rest and recover. I understand that unexpected circumstances happen, and I do not expect a business owner to be available or respond immediately at all times. She also explained that clients are generally asked to allow up to 24 hours for a response. Once that was explained to me, I completely understood and was willing to respect that timeframe. My concern was never that I expected an immediate response. My concern was that the 24-hour response expectation had never previously been communicated to me, so at the time I had no way of knowing whether my messages had been received, whether she was unavailable, or whether she simply did not want to continue working with me. I also want to address her statement that I told her I would leave a negative review because I had not received a response that day. I did express my frustration and said that I would share my experience in a review, and I understand why she included that in her response. At the time, however, I was not trying to pressure her into responding immediately or use a review as leverage. I had already attempted to contact her more than once and had called, and because I had never been made aware of the 24-hour response policy, I genuinely did not understand what was happening. In hindsight, I can acknowledge that I could have waited longer before expressing my frustration. At the same time, I think it is important to explain that my reaction came from uncertainty about whether I was still welcome as a client--not simply because I hadn't received an immediate response. In fact, I told her that I still wanted to work with her and asked about coming in for another consultation. I was willing to continue as a client once the communication expectations were clarified. What I found particularly frustrating was being told that I apparently "need someone who responds right away." I never said that I needed or expected an immediate response. There is a significant difference between expecting an immediate response and wanting basic communication or clarity about how a business handles client inquiries. If the policy is that clients should allow up to 24 hours for a response, I think that is completely reasonable. My concern is simply that this expectation should be communicated clearly, particularly to existing clients who may not already know it. I also believe that if a provider is unavailable, unable to take on a client, or does not wish to continue working with someone, communicating that clearly can prevent unnecessary confusion. From my perspective, the lack of communication left me questioning what was going on and whether I was still wanted as a client.
