Face Haus is an interesting spot. First of all, set your expectations accordingly before coming. If you're looking for that "super relaxing spa facial" experience where you have complete privacy, probably need to keep looking around. The treatment area at this location is more akin to Joint Chiropractic (I.e., you're in the same room as every other customer since all the chairs are next to each other). However, if the quality results are at the top of your priority list and you don't mind others being around then this is a great spot. That said, I felt quite relaxed after the treatment. I got the "World of difference" package and was in the chair from start to finish for roughly 1.25 hours. Aesthetician was Kyla who did a great job relaxing me throughout the treatment. From breathing exercises to subtle queues that let you know the next phase of the treatment was about to begin, she did it all. I feel as though doing facials for men might be a bit more frustrating for them than the standard female client since I was more fidgety, took longer to relax, don't get regular treatments, etc. but they handled me just fine and didn't make me feel like a burden. There's a parking garage right next to the storefront in the village so it was a quick in and out. Also, a lot of great shopping in this area. At the end of the day, my skin looks and feels far better than it had before and I walked away grateful. I would recommend this location if you're considering options. read more

Just the kind of self care I needed before the new year! I visited Face Haus on Saturday morning to start my day. I was immediately impressed by the look and feel of the interior design. Upon entry there is a small seating area for check in and I was quickly greeted by two friendly hostesses. I completed a short admission form via iPad which only took about 5 minutes or so. After checking in my esthie, Elaine, came to greet me right away. Elaine took care of me during this visit and she was great from start to finish. I was sure to let her know this was my first experience getting a facial so I'd have lots of questions. Prior to getting started she walked through the selection of services and I upgraded from the Haus Special to the Best Man. Once we got started Elaine was very delicate and explained each product and its purpose along the way. She answered all of my questions in detail and I could tell she was very experienced and passionate about her craft. She made recommendations on products and daily care regimens that were specific to my skin type. The entire process was complete in about 45 minutes and I felt like a new man walking out! Based on recommendations I purchased a bottle of moisturizer during checkout. My experience was very pleasant and I will definitely be back. It is not; however, your traditional, relaxing facial. The esthetician's are chatty, the facials are conducted in a dentist office like setting where you're sitting right next to potential strangers, and the music is fun and upbeat. I feel like I got a good facial, complete with extractions and a customized jelly mask, but I didn't leave feeling relaxed and rejuvenated like I usually do after leaving a spa. Would recommend for a girls day outing while you're in West Village shopping, or maybe a quick facial touch up in between your regular appointments, but this wouldn't be my go-to spot. read more

Last two times I've tried to visit to purchase face wash the doors were closed. First time was due to them not having appointments. Even though it was 3 and they closed at 6 (what about walk ins). Next time I went during my lunch. Doors closed again I guess they close for the lunch hour? But no notice or info of that on their door. So do I need to make an appointment buy product? So confusing. Other than that I've had a few facials. Not the best but also not terrible. Definitely good for a quick facial but I wouldn't recommend for it to be a to-go place. They seem to lack experience. Came to Face Haus for my first ever facial and had an awesome experience from start to finish! This location smelled fresh and clean inside, and we only waited a few moments before our estheticians greeted us. We were also given bottles of water as we waited, which was nice. Both of our estheticians were generous and helpful. They asked us about our skin and walked us through the process as the facial went along, while also allowing us to relax. They took their time at every step of the way. It was a thorough 45-minute facial that was well worth the money. Just when I thought it was about to be over, the next step would start, and it just kept getting better! Every product smelled so good and felt soothing on my face. There were several times I almost fell asleep because it was that relaxing. I was nervous beforehand that I would leave with a red or swollen face, but it was the opposite - I left with my skin feeling rejuvenated and fresh. My skin felt and looked noticeably healthier in the following days/weeks as well, so I can definitely see facials being a good investment in your skin long-term. All in all, I could not have had a better experience at Face Haus! Each chair is set far enough apart so that you still feel like you have your own space, even though it's all in one room. Jordan was my esthie and she was amazing. Called in advance to let them know my mom and I were going to be 10min late to our appointment, and asked if it was still ok to come in - no answer after 2 calls, left a message. Didn't hear anything, arrived, couldn't get in the door nearest the parking garage, had to walk a block around to a different entrance, and was told we couldn't be seen. Apparently, the cutoff is 15min for appointments - we arrived 14min late after everything. It all could have been handled very differently as it was our first time visiting, and at the very least a returned phone call would have saved us the trip/hassle. I went in back in January excited to get my very first facial. I even sprung for the $20 Power to the Pores add-on, as my esthetician recommended it. Unfortunately, neither the esthetician nor the woman who did my intake evaluation ever informed me that there was a possibility that getting a facial could result in increased redness in my face and serious breakouts, in a process they call "purging". I unfortunately experienced such side effects, and Face Haus only offered me a complimentary spot treatment, which unfortunately did little to help. It was not until I saw my dermatologist that I could get things back under control. Sadly, when I informed the manager of this, she was unsympathetic, and refused to offer me a refund of the over $100 I spent on the facial. When asked why Face Haus does not inform customers of the possibility of "purging", the manager specifically told me that because they are not legally required to do so, they choose not to. I think it is vitally important that customers are fully aware of all of the common side effects of a business's services, and I am surprised that Face Haus does not feel the same way. I was only able to secure a refund after disputing the transaction with my bank. Buyer beware with Face Haus. read more
