Breast cancer! Lose my hair! Are you kidding me? What does one do when they first hear this??? Well I cried a bit, and then knew that wasn't going to get me anywhere....but really!!! I had to pick up the pieces and move forward strong! That very afternoon I called my hairdresser and asked for advice on wig shopping....she's an amazing lady and I just knew she would point me in the right direction. I actually went back a week later and purchased a second wig. With the total price comes 6 visits to wash and freshen them up. Today was my first experience at Fabi of Rome, The Wig Gallery, and I have to say that my life have changed fiscally and emotionally. I am fighting a Lupis flare since February and I was loosing my hair. It was very uncomfortable and I was getting a little depressed after all that. I recently started chemotherapy treatments and lost my hair. I started off with a wig that was bulky, uncomfortable and unnatural looking. I thought that was the way it was going to be. I then heard about Vincent Fabi's shop in Wethersfield, CT. I called and made an appointment not expecting much. When I got there I was greeted by the owner, Vincent who assured me he would be able to fit me with a wig that no one would know was a wig. He did just that and ordered it for me - the price included 3 custom haircuts and washing. I've just gone back for my 2nd trim and first wash - I actually feel comfortable and somewhat attractive in it! Vincent absolutely knows what he's doing when it come to hair. I had gotten an awful haircut someplace else and was so upset I immediately searched places for extensions. I sent Fabi of Rome an email and he responded and was able to fit me in right away so I didn't have to spend any longer walking around with this awful haircut. I can't express my gratitude enough for Fabi, I came to him after I had a bad experience with another hairdresser. I went to a hair dresser who was touted an expert colorist, and what I got was nothing short of a diaster. My hair was so over processed that it finally broke off to less than an inch long all over my head. If you are a woman, you know that will send right over the edge to crazy town!!!! I went to see Vincent for a cranial prosthetic (wig) due to alopecia from chemotherapy. Vincent was very knowledgeable and gave me great advice during a very stressful time. When it was time to cut and style the wig (which included shaving off all the hair I had) he was very compassionate and kind. Vincent made sure I had the cut and style that I wanted for teh wig.
