The…read morecycling room was a selling point to paying almost $200/month, yet half the bikes don't work. When you ask the employees, they say "I don't know, I don't really cycle". I'm not sure what that has to do with knowing how to use the equipment at the gym that you do in fact work at. The staff is the primary reason I decided to cancel my membership. They are simply bodies in a chair. They won't help, they don't say hello or greet you, they seem like they'd rather be anywhere else. They act like you're interrupting their personal conversation when you need to buy a water or ask literally anything. Cycling classes come and go without wiping the equipment. The cleaning standards here are 7/10. The best selling point here is the pool. It's nice to swim indoors, but there are only 3 lanes. Also, the cycling instructor, (Bernard I believe?) is the reason this gym gets a third star vs 1. Overall, the staff not knowing how equipment works, saying you're SOL when none of their bikes work, and being overall rude and unpleasant really kill the energy here more than I imagined. When I first signed up, I felt like it did not matter if the staff was rude- but here we are. I would rather pay less, knowing i'm going to get sub par service. If I'm going to pay almost $200, I would expect cleanliness and employees who know anything about the gym.

Wonderful gym with great coach + member culture. This is definitely the best general purpose /…read morestrength & conditioning gym I've ever been a member of. The coaches are attentive but not intrusive, and share a broad base of general training knowledge that underlies their individual areas of excellence. The scheduling approach is especially appealing: each day only has one class format (so, for example, if Tuesday is upper body strength, then all classes on that Tuesday will be upper body strength). This means that you do not have to tailor your schedule to the offerings you want. Likewise, classes do not follow the same pattern week to week, so if you can't come in at all on Thursdays, you won't be locked out of a particular class type (unlike other gyms, where it might be the case that your favorite class is only offered on a day you can't get in). And the classes themselves are quite diverse - there are days when you're doing only 4-6 stations for the whole hour, and thus will want to load heavy and really push for PRs, and days when there are 12 stations and high rep counts so you'll want to lighten a bit and maintain consistent intensity. The cardio classes also change up their formats so it's not just a repetitive grind. I've personally seen great fitness results and have lost about 20 pounds and a few inches of waist measurement. The BFT approach has been effective for me, even after a year. Finally, this gym's events are fun. There was a comedy event, a couple of mixers, and now there's even a Friday coffee morning at the espresso bar a block away. The community feeling is strong, but you won't feel left out if that's not your jam.

The coaches are great, the workouts are challenging and fun, and the community makes you actually…read morewant to keep showing up. Great energy, great people, and an overall really motivating environment.

My butt has never been kicked so hard before in my life!…read more I came to Chris because I didn't see the results I was hoping for with my trainer at LA Fitness. I am pretty fit and active but I wasn't being challenged enough with my previous trainer. Chris knew and understood my needs and set me up with Dean. Dean is AMAZING! From day one he pushed me to my limits and has made me do drills and exercises that I've never seen before. Dean is an athlete himself so he definitely understands the best ways to keep your body from plateauing. He also encouraged me to see an allergist after I complained about not feeling well after some meals, which was a life saver (literally) because I found out that I was allergic to foods I ate every day. Plus he's not too bad to look at either, if you ladies needed that extra encouragement. I really love the gym too. People go there to workout - not text on the treadmill or have a social hour. It's a really positive environment that encourages you to work harder than you thought you could. I recommend this place, Chris and Dean 100%

This review is mainly for JR because he's the only trainer I've worked with from the group…read more My first experience with a personal trainer was this past May and it was through a groupon with Prime Fit Elite. My previous experience with working out included group classes and use of some of the machines periodically in the gym. My goal with working with a trainer was just to feel and look stronger-- I'm 5'0, 100lbs. JR taught me how to properly execute many functional exercises and safely use all the machines I was weary of using by myself. He also is an expert in TRX training, so mixing that with traditional weight training really kept each session interesting. I am now confident enough to use all the machines I want to use safely and effectively. I feel a noticeable difference in my strength and endurance from working with JR and it's definitely at a faster rate than if I were to tackle my fitness goals on my own. JR is just a great guy overall. So not only is working out with him the most efficient hour of your day, but you get someone cool to talk to while you're almost dying from that last rep. After the groupon was over, I opted to train with prime fit elite for two more months because I was satisfied with the results.

There are A LOT of choices if you want to workout outside of the home. A few of the bigger things…read moreto consider will always be time and money. My old gym membership had expired and it was time for me to figure out what I wanted to do next. I started researching some options: Yoga, Gym, Boxing, Pilates, Kickboxing, Private trainer and more. It's mind boggling but more importantly it's wallet emptying.. I was trying to find a place where I could workout whenever I wanted and not have to wait for a machine or make an appointment for a class but also not break the bank. 9Round is not only the best value compared to all the other options, but you can go anytime on any day within their hours (5am - 11pm). There are trainers there to help and guide you during specific times and there are also tv's at every station to show you how to do the workouts. There are 9 stations - and you will spend 3 minutes at each station w/a 30 second break between stations. The trainers are super helpful to show you how to do the workouts correctly, work on your form and even give you a mental push if you need/want it. The best part is you can go as often as you want, and the workouts change daily so you won't get bored of the same routine. It's very clean there and have yet to run into some of "those gym people" who are wearing makeup or cologne and want to be seen. Quick tip - if you want workout with fewer people or without a trainer on site, you can go during hours when they are not available. I usually workout between 1-3pm and it's a much quieter time.
