I had such an amazing experience at GluteCamp inside Bunda Santa Monica. From the moment I walked in, the energy was welcoming, motivating, and genuinely empowering. The workouts are incredibly well-structured. Focused, effective, and clearly designed by people who know exactly what they're doing. You can feel the difference after just one session. The coaches are not only knowledgeable but also super attentive, making sure your form is on point and pushing you just the right amount without it feeling overwhelming. What really stood out to me was the vibe. It's supportive, not intimidating, and you leave feeling stronger, more confident, and honestly excited to come back. Whether you're just starting out or already experienced, this place meets you where you're at and helps you level up. If you're serious about results and want a workout that actually delivers, GluteCamp at Bunda Santa Monica is 100% worth it. read more

Rena's class was the best! Had a thorough walkthrough for my first class and burned around 550 calories on the upper body core day

I've moved around a lot over the past few years, and one of the things I love about Bunda is that they've had locations in almost every city I've lived in. Because of that, I travel between studios pretty frequently, and the experience has been consistently solid. The Santa Monica location is nice and clean. It's a bit smaller than some of the other studios I've been to, but it still absolutely gets the job done. The classes are a lot of fun, and the instructors do a great job keeping the energy high and the workouts engaging. The StairMaster definitely takes some getting used to, but it's a great challenge and really effective. One thing to note is that the music can be pretty loud. That said, this seems to be a common thing across most locations, so I do appreciate that they provide free earplugs if you need them. You do have to purchase their branded equipment, which is required for all leg and glute days (they don't allow you to use your own). From what I remember, it's around a $40 one-time fee, and you can use it across all studios. They also run fun challenges throughout the year that help keep you motivated, and if you complete them, you usually get a nice branded gift like a water bottle or bag. They also offer a monthly first responder discount, which is a really nice perk. They even have their own branded protein powder, which not only tastes amazing but also has really clean, high-quality ingredients. I'm currently not going and have my membership paused because my work schedule has been crazy, but I genuinely can't wait to get back once things settle down. Overall, Bunda has been a reliable, high-energy workout for me no matter where I've lived, and the Santa Monica studio definitely holds up. read more

I can't say enough good things about Bunda. I joined wanting to feel stronger and more confident in my body and it has completely exceeded my expectations. The workouts are intentional and progressive, not random circuits, and they truly deliver results. I have seen visible changes in my glutes and overall body composition, but more importantly I feel powerful. The coaches care about form, push you in the best way, and create an empowering environment that is motivating without being intimidating. You walk in feeling cute and leave feeling unstoppable. If you are serious about building muscle and seeing real change, Bunda is it. read more

My favorite workout class in LA! After having attended classes at a wealth of studios across the westside and midcity, I can confidently say they are doing it right at Bunda. They have rules set in place that I really respect and appreciate - if you are late to class you miss the first round, no cell phones in class, they start proptly and do a great job of getting you out of class right on time. The workout is always SO good. They emphasize progressive muscle overload, the importance of good form (both on the stairclimber and with weights) and you can tell the instructors are truly knowledgeable. First timers - when they ask you to show up early to your first class, DO IT! I sent a friend who was visiting here and she didn't show up early, as I instructed her to (and as they ask in the intro email). She ended up not being able to take the class and didn't understand why. This is not a HIIT interval class you can jump into, the thorough weightlifting and stairmaster introduction they give is crucial to you having a good (and safe) experience here! I have been coming here for 5 years and I don't see any end in sight! read more

If you join through Classpass and have any disabilities, according to one of the instructors, Deja, you are not allowed a single modification in class. If you try to modify, she will scream at you through the microphone and even get in your face and physically grab you. If you enjoy a mediocre workout with a side of assault and being berated if you try to avoid exacerbating injuries, this is the studio for you. read more

I don't work out here, I'm not a customer, but I am a neighbor. This business is a wonderful neighbor. Their clientele park at the meters rather than clogging the crowded residential streets (thank you!). More importantly, I ride past with my 2 kids every morning on the way to school. One morning, my 5 year old took an unexpected bad spill on his bike right in front of their storefront. I heard him and turned around, tearing back toward him, but before I even got to him, an employee and a customer from Bunda were already outside to see if he was ok. They ran in when I got there to grab band aids and Neosporin for him. They made sure we had what we needed to get the rest of the way to school. Good humans at bunda. read more

I love the Bunda workout. More than that, Bunda instructors are amazing, particularly at this location - they are strong, knowledgeable, and passionate about fitness. This type of instructor is rare to find in LA these days.  The reason for the 1 star review is for management. I'm starting to believe that they have expanded too quickly without the proper leadership infrastructure in place. If anything is awry with your account, it is impossible to get in touch with anyone. For example, I was unable to book classes with the $450 worth of credits I purchased and it took over a month for them to remediate it. At that same time, 20 class credits disappeared from my account, and 6 weeks later this issue is still not just outstanding, but completely unaddressed or acknowledged. This review is an attempt to get a response from Faranebi, and I will happily delete it/change to 5 stars for the instructors once the issue is dealt with. read more

TLDR: Bunda is great if you like a lot of rules that are inconsistently enforced. If you are new to working out in general, this may be a good option. If you are not new to working out, you will know that you don't burn enough calories to lose any weight and may be annoyed with the constant preaching. Predatory business tactics-they never responded to my cancellation requests. See screenshots. Source: former member, taken 90 classes Format is 3 rounds, where you either start on stairs or the floor, then switch mid round. Butt & leg days requirement equipment, upper body days usually do not. Your total time on the stairmaster is about 20 minutes, which is not much in terms of cardio. That's why they encourage you take classes 5-6x/week to "see results" aka rip you off. Bunda has many rules - arrive 30 minutes before your first class, no entry without Bunda branded equipment, no cell phones in class, don't do your own workout, don't start early so the class can start together, etc. So many rules that depending on the instructor that day or who has front desk duty, you may be able to skirt away without following any. For example, they allow late entry but do not check if the member has all their equipment. As a result, I've had other members I share a station with attempt to use my equipment, which is unsanitary. When I brought this up to the front desk, they said, "just bring the equipment with you". Or you can visually check they have it with them before allowing them to enter class? I've witnessed other members openly use cell phones in class, not sanitize a station after sweating all over it, or staying on a stairmaster all throughout class with no switch - all against the "rules" but nothing is done. There is a huge emphasis on progressive overload, nutrition, and asking for your money. They offered a summer challenge that if completed, yielded a Bunda brand beach towel. To participate in the challenge, however, you had to pay $20. You're telling me I have to pay $20 on top of the $250/month to be part of this challenge? In this economy? Wild. Besides the program absolutely destroying my knees when I had no prior knee pain, and receiving inappropriate modifications (instead of a curtesy lunge, do a B stance squat), the contributing factor why I left Bunda is because of their predatory business practices. I provided handwritten notice (delivered in person to the studio)and notice via email of my request to cancel my membership. They have never acknowledged any of my emails. The only proof I have is a screenshot of a voicemail a front desk associate left me saying management confirmed my cancellation request. If that's the case, please tell me why Bunda charged me for another month. I have called and emailed repeatedly requesting assistance and have received no reply. At this point, join a small gym or find a studio that actually cares about you. Don't give this place your hard earned money - they'll just keep asking for more. read more

i've been a member at bünda for 1 year now, and it's been a total game changer! i originally joined after taking a class with my previous trainer and friend, jules--fell in love instantly. and let me be clear: i hate working out. i've never been the type to enjoy it; the thought alone used to make me cringe. that's exactly why bünda works for me--a structured class that tells me what to do, how to do it, and keeps me accountable. this community has done all that and more. it's made fitness part of my lifestyle. i actually look forward to class now (who am i?!) because i get to be part of a community of bad ass fellow bundis. and the results? unreal. at 30 years old, i'm in the best shape of my life. i've had to buy a whole new wardrobe because i've never been this small, this fit, or felt this confident. and of course, i'm always rocking my bünda merch with pride! thank you, bünda, for the little waist, strong legs, and big but powerful bünda ;) i love my coaches, i love this workout, and i tell everyone i know to try it. trust me--you'll fall in love too! read more

Bunda - Cardio Classes Near Me - Santa Monica, California

If you're looking for a fun workout especially one that focuses on your glutes or shall I say bunda, this is the place for you. Class is structured into three rounds. Each round consists of about 6-8 min on the stairmaster then 6-8 min weight training on the floor. It feels sanitary because you'll wipe down between each round before transitioning with the spray bottle and towel they provide. They also sanitize the equipment between each class. They play fun music to hype you up and the instructors walk you through the movement and form while also challenging you along the way. They do have a different focus by day such as "Arms & abs" "Butt & legs" or "Total Body" The challenges that they do is fun and keeps you motivated in a different way. One of my favorites is the Nov. challenge where I did end up completing 20 classes prior to Thanksgiving! They have foam rollers and massage guns for use before or after class which is helpful! They do have parking and there's also the option for paid street parking as well both in front and side of the studio. Overall, Bunda is a fun workout that pushes you and gives you a mix of cardio and strength training to grow those muscles and I always leave feeling energized. For the days when you want to just zone in and be challenged through a workout with great energy around you this is the place to go! Also love the cute pink vibes they have with the lighting and equipment. One note is that you do have to use their bunda band and ankle cuffs, that you can either rent each class or purchase. They don't allow outside equipment. read more

After 2 years and 400 workouts, I can confidently say that Bunda continues to exceed my expectations. The workouts are always fun, challenging, and constantly updated, so they never get boring. There are also many challenges throughout the year, including an 8 week transformation challenge that keeps things exciting and gives you extra motivation to push yourself and reach new levels. The instructors bring great energy, focus on proper form, and know how to push and motivate you. The front desk team is always warm and welcoming, which makes the studio feel like a true community. I highly recommend Bunda to anyone looking for an effective, engaging workout and an incredibly supportive environment. read more

The workout is excellent; you will get your sweat on! The studio is small but clean and neat. I've tried many gyms: CrossFit, Barry's Bootcamp, F45, Hot Yoga, Hot Pilates, etc. During the workout, you go back and forth between the StairMaster and weight work on the floor. The energy in the room was 10/10, and the instructor was very motivating. The music was on point! The only thing that didn't sit right for me was that while the first class was completely free, you would have to rent or buy the resistance bands from them at any session after your first one, and NO- you can't bring your own. If I pay their rate, the gym should provide every accessory needed for the workout. That is ironic and greedy; according to their website, the Bunda Journey Membership is $200 (per month) for 30 credits. Why can't the bands be included? Imagine paying for a gym membership or buying classes, and then they try to charge you for using the gym's equipment. I mean, that's why you pay for membership! And why can't I bring my own bands to avoid the fee? It just seems greedy. read more

Avoid Bunda - Not Worth the Hassle I decided to give Bunda a second chance because I needed a 6 a.m. workout, and it was the only class available on ClassPass. What a mistake. First, they force you to rent their branded equipment if you don't already own it. Renting a Bunda band costs $6, which is absurd considering how much you already pay for the class. Most studios--like Barry's--provide equipment for free. It feels like a blatant cash grab. Second, the instructor's (KETZIA JIMENEZ) attitude was unbearable. I came in to work out and start my day strong, but instead, I got scolded again for starting my stairmaster before the signal. It wasn't disruptive, and I wasn't doing anything wrong. If I want to push myself harder, why is that an issue? The micromanaging and unnecessary power trips completely kill the experience. Bunda's staff seems more interested in enforcing arbitrary rules than fostering a positive environment. Between the ego-driven instructors and the inflexible policies, this place is a nightmare. If you value professionalism, encouragement, and inclusivity, I'd recommend Barry's instead. They provide equipment for everyone, let you work out at your own pace, and actually make you feel welcome. Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere else! read more

I generally like this studio but one of the trainers Deja Nichol is extra harsh -- she forced me to do certain moves even though I am recovering from a broken bone and would roll her eyes and complain to me when I would resist. She also generally sounds like she is berating the class a lot of the time when she speaks. For example, Deja never lets anyone in the class start on the stairs until she gives the group permission. She feels the need to constantly remind the class that she is in control at all times. All in all, she just kills the vibe of what would be a fun class and studio. I definitely recommend the classes she doesn't teach tho.... read more

I really like the Bunda workout classes! They're fun energy that are half weights and half stair master. They play fun music and encourage everyone to clean their equipment before switching spots. The instructors are all really great and I appreciate that they have parking. My only issue with Bunda is that classes are $35 dollars and they still want you to rent/purchase equipment for certain days of the week and insist that you can't bring your own equipment for safety reasons which seems insincere. It's a resistance band it's not that they offer anything that special besides it being branded. I would be far more inclined to take more classes if they didn't have that policy. read more

I've been a part of the Bunda family for over a year now, and it's been a transformative journey, especially for my confidence and, well, my Bunda! The studio has this charming, quaint vibe that I adore, and what sets it apart is the no-nonsense approach to each class. We get down to business right away, and I appreciate the focus. The class is 1/2 strength training and 1/2 stairmaster. They offer classes that focus on total body, arms & abs, butt & legs, or glutecamp (I hear this is a tough one). Bunda is the kind of workout I genuinely look forward to because you can go at your own pace - there is no pressure to overwork yourself! Ray is definitely my favorite instructor and I only attend his classes at this point. I love the music and energy he brings to his classes. There's convenient parking in the subterranean garage or metered options along the street. Highly recommend Bunda! Memberships are affordable and on par with other studios like Orangetheory and The Studio MDR. If you are looking for a more affordable way to attend Bunda, I recommend ClassPass! read more

I've taken bunda through classpass previously but am THRILLED they are opening a location in Manhattan Beach now -- which I joined !!! I've visited the Santa Monica and 3rd ST. studios; and both have always provided well-rounded :) programming for a great workout -- lifting sets paired with stair master. The studio itself is intimate which I like and the facilities are clean-- I appreciate that I get to take my hygienic tools (spray / wipes) with me as we switch between rounds. Compared to a lot of other studios in La, I find bunda to be focused on the wellbeing of their clientele as well... creating a positive community. Cannot wait for the MB bunda to open in January ! read more

I love this workout and location. It has parking which is a plus and massage guns/rollers for use before and after. I haven't had an instructor I don't like (but would mind sometimes if they would push a bit more ) The cons: I find it irritating they won't let you jump on the stairs early to warm up. It's kind of silly. Also the "you can only use our branded bands" is a money grab pure and simple. A few instructors are not super clear on their instructions and cues are missed between floor and stairs because they are deliver either too fast or not loud enough to go over the music. The neutral: some clearly don't put much thought into their music and it's just sort of an annoying mess in the background. read more

Bunda - Cardio Classes Near Me - Santa Monica, California

AVOID JOSHUA ENGLE'S CLASSES I've been going to Bünda on and off for a few years now and started being more consistent this year since I moved back to the Westside. Nicole Delgado is my favorite instructor here as she gives great cues on form, while Ray's classes are the most fun (and challenging) but I've enjoyed every single Bünda class I've taken... That is, until I took Joshua Engle's class for the first time today. The entire class comprised of Joshua shouting commands repeatedly (e.g. "SIT YOUR BUTT DOWN DOWN DOWN DOWN DOWN KEEP GOING KEEP GOING KEEP GOING GO GO GO") and taking so much time to correct one person's form that he neglects to cue the rest of the class. When I was on the stairs, many of the girls around me (including myself) were visibly irritated by his constant yelling and he also forgot to cue us a few times since he tended to hyperfocus on the floor. Bünda classes are not easy but this was the first time I had to fight the urge to leave mid-workout. Bünda's empowering female-friendly environment is what makes it special. If I wanted a bootcamp-style class served with a side of toxic masculinity, I'd just go to Barry's. read more

I have been going to Bunda for over 3 years. It's ABSOLUTELY the best workout I have ever experienced. I have been playing beach volleyball all my life and the Bunda workout is the best compliment... not only improved the way I move on the sand, but I have never been this toned. I highly recommend this workout and I met the nicest people in the Santa Monica location. It's also fun and challenging. read more

Just took my first class, incredible workout! Make no mistake, this low impact class will kick your butt! I'm convinced that tomorrow I will struggle to sit down. I have every confidence that with an after workout stretching, which is included at the end of class, all will be well. I suspect with consistency I will have a glute like I did as a 20 something. The staff from the front desk to the manager is very helpful, informative and encouraging. No hard sell, which can be done because the workout speaks for itself. The memberships are on par for this type of studio, which is to say pricey. However, There seems to be a price point for all budgets. This studio also offers a discount for the unlimited membership for 2 months. The 3rd month is significantly more expensive. I will have to wait to see if there is still value for the cost. The app doesn't seem to be user friendly, but that could be user error.... read more

I have taken 15+ classes at Bunda and will continue to return! The class structure is easy to follow and nicely breaks up the workout. There are 3 rounds each of stair stepper and strength training and you select ahead of time which to start with. I prefer to start with stair stepper as a warm up and to get the cardio part done sooner (although some of the floor stuff involves cardio too) but either way gives you a killer workout! The facilities are highly clean and it is my understanding that each workout station is sanitized in between classes. On top of that, as you transition between floor strength training and the stair stepper each round, you are instructed to spray and wipe down your equipment. I see other reviews on here complaining about how hot the room is (trust me, it is not that hot and I get overheated easily) and how they don't open any windows or doors. These complaints completely ignore the other sanitation measures implemented by the staff, as well as the set up of the studio, which does not offer the ability for open air. The parking situation is also highly convenient as they offer an underground parking garage where I have never struggled to find a space. Additionally, there is metered street parking and I usually see open spaces available there as well. Overall, if you're looking for a fun and different HIIT workout, Bunda is your place! read more

When you walk into this studio the vibe is off immediately. The lady with the long brown hair has this "hungover" look and gives you an attitude. I currently go to Woodland Hills and encino locations and I have never experienced this. The instructor stephanie was low energy and the class was very slow in my opinion. The music was off too. We needed more energy in the class. Overall I would never attend this Bünda class. read more

this is one of the best fitness classes in LA. i love the combination of strength training and steady state cardio. the trainers are all skilled and give great cues for form to prevent injury. the community is supportive and encouraging. i've taken 581 classes and won't be stopping any time soon. it lives up to the name - i finally have a bünda after consistently working out here heads up - if it's your first time make sure you go early so they can walk you through the station. class moves quickly and it'll make it so much easier. also, you'll need to use their equipment. i'd recommend just buying it if you plan to go regularly. read more

Like many of the folks in the comments, I have had very unpleasant experiences with the staff here. As a matter of fact, I stopped going here for months and it's appalling to me that people are still being mistreated. Clearly management doesn't care about coaching its staff and correcting the unprofessional behavior since they keep making money. The workouts are great, almost all of the instructors are awesome but it's the front desk staff that is the worst. read more

Highly recommend this boutique gym. I've been coming here for over a year. Helped me immediately lose my post-baby weight gain within a few (~3months) of consistent training. I'm pregnant again and I've been going sporadically as weight loss is not my concern right now. It's an incredible low-impact workout that is very safe for pregnancy. You manage to push yourself as much as you can with the trainers correcting your form. It's very hands-on and I feel those adjustments really help you not hurt yourself. To compare I also go to another boutique gym and the trainers won't correct you, let alone touch you. Give Bünda a shot if you're on the fence. They have an intro rate that's affordable. read more

Been coming here for over a year so I'm biased, but they're doing something right if I keep returning! I alternate between Bunda and Orangetheory for my workouts. Jennifer and Katie are my fav instructors because they really push you to lift heavier, which is really important for progress! They will also come by and correct your form, which is great! I get annoyed by others that are in the class that lift so light that they breeze through the exercises way too fast...because that means the instructor has to move on a little faster to keep everyone going. Yes, you do have to purchase the equipment (but it's not that expensive) and to me, that's like when you have to buy the OTF wearable band, so it's not a big deal if you go often. Also love the variety of class time options, although I wish there was just one more midday option so that I could go before having to pick the kids up at daycare before 5p. read more

Bunda - Welcome card - Cardio Classes Near Me - Santa Monica, California

I loved this studio and enjoyed the classes and the people who worked there. I would schedule my classes on CLASSPASS and never had an issue until they stated that they would be canceling their involvement with CLASSPASS and everyone who was booking through 3rd party sites like classpass now had to buy a membership. They reiterated this multiple times over the course of two months. I loved Bunda so I purchased a membership. HOWEVER, it turns out they never took their studio off of ClassPass, and I was now paying 3x what I was normally paying to attend their studio. I decided I liked Bunda enough to continue my membership, even though I felt a little tricked into buying a membership. My schedule drastically changed this year, and I no longer had time to attend their studio, so I canceled using the instructions on their site (email the studio manager). I was then continuously charged for two months after I gave my 30-day notice. I could not get this studio on the phone to rectify the situation and had to write dozens of emails to get a response after the second attempt to charge my card. I was then told that I should have come in person to cancel even though I followed the steps on their websites (email the studio manager) to cancel, and it was confirmed on their end that my membership would be canceled after that one step via email. But. that obviously was not the case since they continued to charge my card. This whole ordeal has been so frustrating and has turned me off from renewing my membership in the future out of fear this will happen again. However, they did promptly give me a refund for the months they mistakenly charged me for, but not without less-than-kind emails trying to tell me what I'd done wrong in canceling. I am not impressed with how they do business at all. read more

A nice booty focused workout. Class was fun, and music was good. I don't like that they don't allow you to bring "outside/off brand" workout bands and ankle cuffs.
