The go-kart centre is only a ten minute walk from the Bullring and New Street Station. You can get up to speeds of around 40-50mph and considering it is an indoor go-kart centre that is pretty quick. Staff at Teamworks Karting are fully trained and if you have any questions they will happily help you. To find out more information give Teamworks a call on the above number. I have spoken to many people who have gone go-karting at Teamworks and they said they had a very good time. Height restrictions do apply so there may well be some disappointed youngsters who may not get the opportunity to drive a go-kart. But honestly it really is worth going to Teamworks Karting and believe me you will have a fantastic time. It will definitely be something you remember for many years to come. If you are looking for something to do and your in the Birmingham area, why not have a go at go-karting at Teamworks Karting.

When we first arrived, we all met in the car park before walking up to the entrance. We were greeted by a couple of guys who took us through to a room where we watched a safety video and were told what they day ahead involves. Next, we put on our suits which were all in ones so they went over our clothes. I'd recommend wearing something light and comfortable as it gets really hot in there especially with the helmet on. The go kart itself went so fast! I felt nervous with adrenaline and thought I was doing really well. That was until, at the end I found out I had been lapped by the others several times! Definitely a fun day out.

What a fun, unusual way to spend time! Go-karting is a great experience, fun for people of any age,…read moreand pretty hard to get wrong, unless inebriated. In which case, go home, not go-karting. My husband and I took our nine-year-old to Midland Karting this weekend, and had an absolute blast! My husband is a big petrol head, and I like to go fast on the freeway as well, so we thought the boy surely has it in his genes. And after a day of watching him spin out and drift through corners, it's confirmed. If you're looking for a clean, sparkling place full of OK magazine, you're not going to like this place. It's set up like an auto repair garage, with stiff metal chairs and industrial carpet. Everything is made of wood paneling, but why are you going to a go-kart place to analyse the decor! Get out onto the track! As for the track -- there are two -- the child's one and the adult's one. Children must be 8 years or older to drive. Their karts operate up to 20mph. The adult's track, one must be 12 and over, and the kart's go up to 40mph -- very fast with no suspension and your knees exposed to the elements! Go-karting in general is not cheap in the UK, but at £25 for 30 minutes or £45 for an hour, it is similarly-priced to other go-kart shops in the country. The one thing they offer that seems unique is a 10 minute "taster" on the track for £10. It doesn't sound like a long time, but is more than enough to race your friends and get a feel for the open air. With group prices falling just under £20 for a few hours, it is fairly economical. Midland Karting do children's parties, Hen and Stag Nights and Corporate Events. Their safety rating is fine, and the equipment was all up-to-date. We paid for half an hour for the tot, and then my husband paid for ten minutes. The guy knocked £2 off the price, and also let my husband stay out for an extra 10 minutes at no charge. The service was nice and friendly and chatty. All in all, a great way to let off some steam!

Lights out, and away we go to Birmingham's best Kart track…read more This track stands out above all the others in the local area due to its challenging layout and new (as of May 2015) Bizkarts that present a challenge to the experience and novice karter alike. The circuit is almost a Kilometre in length and rewards experienced drivers, so not only will you notice an improvement in your lap times over the course of your event but repeated bookings will lead to a serious lowering of your times. And there's always a helpful member of staff around to give you advice on how to further improve your technique. Novice karters will have all the advice and equipment needed to ensure their first time behind the wheel is as enjoyable as possible, while more experienced karters are free to bring their own race suit and helmet if they so desire. Despite being outdoor, the track isn't weather dependant either, waterproof race suits will be issues and a lot more fun is had in the wet for those brave enough to master the slippy conditions! The circuit caters for the usual stag dos, birthday parties and corporate team building events, but once a month the always popular "open" events are for more experienced Karters to really tear up the track. These usually happen on the first sunday of every month. There is an arrive and drive option too, on Saturdays from 10-3pm. There is also a Junior circuit, for children from the age of 8 upwards, which is ideal for kids Birthday parties.

Unlike some tracks, there is a good combination of fast sections where it's a test of nerve to hit the corners without lifting of the throttle and tight bends which need to be negotiated with some more precision! What makes it even better is that unlike the lower level, which has a predictable, grippy concrete surface, the upper level uses a polished wooden surface! This leads to lots of sliding... and a lot of fun! Unfortunately, the great track, one of the longest indoor tracks in the UK, and large number of drivers allowed on track does mean that there is a lot of time on the yellow light (where you can only drive at walking pace :/) as it takes the race marshals some time to locate and clear any 'incidents'. Additionally, the "brand new karts" advertised on their website, have definitely seen some action and are now looking worse for wear! Despite a few niggles, the great track manages to makes up for these, and with a little more kart maintenance and a few more marshals to clear the incidents this would easily have been a 5* review!
So the first thing I need to say is that I had a hilarious evening at The Raceway. It is always…read morefunny watching other people race (and more importantly crash!). So if I was rating the evening instead of the venue then it would be a straight up 4. However I have a few gripes that I feel I need to get off my chest. Firstly, it's never nice to be told "we don't have space for your group" (9 people) when I was explicitly told by Customer Service not to bother booking for the Arrive & Drive event. Thankfully after a bit of a fuss we were told "we'll fit you in". So what ensued was a 90 minute wait watching others drive (which was hilarious!). Finally it was our turn to race and after the obligatory safety brief video; we were out in the pits. Now the Raceway's website states "BRAND NEW KARTS!!!" but I guess that might have been true in the mid -00s as the Karts we were in looked to have had a fair few miles under their belt. The track is fantastic, a great mix of slow, windy corners and some lovely sweeping corners which can be taken flat-out if you dare! One thing to say about the racing is that the marshaling was lackadaisical at best. I lapped one friend twice whilst he was stuck in the barriers before a marshal spotted him. Perhaps a walkie-talkie system between the marshals would improve communication instead of them shouting above the engines. So all in all, a great evening and a great facility but some definite points of improvement. Will I go back? Certainly!

This makes it really easy to learn but it can get boring if you go there often, as i do as its really near my house. The track has got a flyover section which makes it pretty exciting but what ive found is for the unfit people like me is that this part of the track can tire you out as it goes round a corner and downhill, trying to hold yourself in the kart can get pretty tiring and my hand always end up blistering whcih ive never had on any other track. The prices are pretty standard so not bad value. It is difficult to overtake though and i can get frustrated when stuck behind slower drivers who seem determined not to let me past. It's like Mario Kart, but without the power ups - although I do think my friends (who kept lapping…read moreme) had smuggled some sort of turbo in with them! Once we'd filled in the online registration form absolving them of any blame if we injure ourselves, we suited up in our racing suits and headed upstairs to watch the safety video. After learning that a green light meant go, which pedal was the accelerator, and that any shenanigans would be greeted with a black flag and 're-education', we jumped into our karts. The course takes just under a minute to get around, (or 48 seconds if you are my speedy friends) and involves a good mixture of hairpins, a bridge and some long, sweeping foot-to-the-floor corners. The only negative I'd say is how keen the marshals are to wave their flags. We spent probably 4 of our first 15 minutes going slowly as yellow flags waved. The second race had a delay when a kart ran out of petrol but we didn't get any extra time to race. Overall, a bloody good laugh and something I can't wait to do again. Maybe I'll be a bit quicker next time :)
