My friend wanted to come here because she bought her favourite pair of earrings here yeears ago...so we came in for a bit of a mooch. This place is full of interesting jewellery- some of it was gorgeous/ some of it was not really to my taste. BUT Jewellery is always a very personal thing to choose - so maybe other yelpers'd like the things I cringed at. There was also a large selection of different minerals and gemstones for sale...so this place would make any collector of stones happy. I bought a couple of pairs of pearl earrings with Stirling silver backs (for £6 each!!) and left very happy.

This shop will show you some beautiful geology. They have items from £2 to £200 of sheer beauty. Gorgeous necklaces, rings and other jewellery is available. This is a great place to buy rocks to make jewellery with. I have taken a few friends here to Charlie's Rock shop. They have always bought something and loved the store. We first went in to look for an engagement ring and were served by Mr Graham, the owner of the shop. He was so charming and so knowledgeable, I felt so special. Needless to say I am now wearing the most beautiful, unique ring that I simply adore. I feel like we paid a really fair price and am confident that that my ring is very good quality. I would recommend this shop to anyone and since we've discovered he does repairs and alterations too, we;ve become true regulars.

The member of staff was extremely unprofessional. I asked a straightforward question in relation to…read morethe price he quoted (which I perceived to be on the high side). My question should have been met with a straightforward answer. Instead the member of staff proceded to make some condescending implications about my item in the most passive-agressive manner. My advice would be to avoid this business. I suspect that the abundant glowing 5-star reviews on Google (nearly no 4-star reviews or below) are either incentivised or fake.

Aurum is a fantastic little independent jewellers in South Croydon. I remember walking past it as a…read morechild and always wanting to look in the windows at the beautiful pieces, and now as an adult I still can't resist stopping to stare in at all the beautiful things on display. Aurum is a working goldsmiths, with a little workshop out the back where they make everything, a fact which instantly makes them ten-times more appealing than the brightly lit chain jewellers you will find in the town centre, where the staff are just sales machines, rather than experts. At Aurum, they are on intimate terms with metal and precious stones, and you can go in and buy something gorgeous off the shelf, get them to remodel something you already have, or get something bespoke made, and they will be knowledgeable and helpful throughout. I've got some Aurum bits which I was given for my 18th birthday, and they are still going strong (I won't tell you exactly how many years later), my Dad has a pair of their frog cufflinks, which are still his favourites after 15 years of wearing them, and my brother has bought all manner of things from there for his wife - from those first teenage presents, to the ring he gave her on their wedding day.
