I immediately called the gas company and they came and shut off the gas line. It's the dead of the winter and now I have no heat. I didn't know where to begin. I checked the internet but nothing jumped out at me. I went on yelp and began reading reviews and I ran across Lawrence heating & air. I called spoke to a woman who was very pleasant and told me a tech could come out to assess the boiler to see if it was still usable. Joe came and he looked at it and said it it's a hazard. With all the rust and corrosion and not to mention whatever was on fire. He said it needed replacing. He talked to me about the options and stated I would get an email from the owner of my options. 30 mins later the email was there and everything was included. All the info I needed to know about the unit, specs, warranty, parts/tubing for replacement, price. It was a proposal. I reached out to Lawrence with my questions and he answered right away. I also stated my elderly dad lives with me and elderly need service as soon as possible. That was no problem. He sent me payment options as well. Once I accepted the proposal and date was locked in and they techs came the next day on time. Randy showed up first, then Joe & Chaly. They immediately put down floor draping and loaded all of the supplies , pipes , boiler, etc. They opened all the radiators starting at the top. All of them were pleasant and very Knowledgeable about their job. Any questions I asked Randy explained. They cleaned up behind themselves and made sure everything was put back in place. Once they were done Randy told me about my new unit and what was removed and put in. This company made the entire stressful event so much more easier, like a weight had been lifted. My house is warm and cozy thanks to everyone involved .. Great teamwork ! I would definitely recommend !!! Thank you so much to everyone that played a part in getting me back up in running !!

I get a text back from Marina, and, well, see the screenshots. The earliest they say they can come back is this THURSDAY 4/15 and no, I can't speak to anyone until tomorrow about this. This is completely unacceptable and terrible service. It would be one thing if they hadn't JUST BEEN HERE to fix this exact problem. Don't use them. Anyone who would think it's just fine to leave a mobility challenged senior citizen with a waste filled toilet for four days that they just "fixed" should not be in business.

Their prices were thousands higher than East Coast and after a trip to Philly - I realized why. On the train, there was an advertisement for Silas. And the very next day, a plane flew overheard with a banner for Horizon. Both Horizon and Silas sent out sales reps who drove really nice company vehicles and spent almost an hour giving us a typical sales speech. East Coast Comfort doesn't have sales reps. They send out employees who actually do installations so they know what they are talking about. There is no shiny colorful truck - just a work truck. We ended up going with East Coast Comfort not only because they came in at the lowest (and I mean thousands lower and even put in the same equipment that both corporate companies quoted us) but because it's a small company that doesn't have bells and whistles - they have knowledge, experience, and instead of spending money on advertisements, they rely on word of mouth (a friend recommended which is how we came to call them in the first place). On installation day (new heater) - they discovered a pipe which had been broken which our previous "contracted" oil/heating company never noticed and this was after years of "yearly" inspections. Tony and the other employees were professional yet friendly and I so admire their work ethic and their integrity. On a side note, I offered them something to drink and though they refused, Tony said people rarely ask them that anymore. I was amazed and saddened: don't people have manners any longer? In a country that is screaming about treating people "equally" and "fairly" - it's just absurd that homeowners don't even think to offer contractors a can of soda or glass of ice tea. Yes, you are paying them, but it doesn't mean you're "above" them. Growing up (in the mid-west) anyone who came into our house was treated like a guest. Maybe it's just a mid-west thing, I don't know, but come on people - contractors may be "blue collar" but man, that is an AWESOME thing to be; you called them because they know more than you and are willing to learn something you weren't. At least offer them something to drink!! End Rant. Okay. And with that, I highly highly recommend and when you read the reviews for the 'corporate' companies - don't forget that not only do they pay for ads on trains and planes - but they also pay people to write positive reviews for their company and negative reviews for other companies.

I have had an extremely frustrating experience with East Coast Comfort regarding a split AC/heat…read moresystem in my apartment. I first contacted them in July when I attempted to use the AC during hot weather and found it was not working properly. I was quoted high service fees and could not proceed at the time. Later, in October, after speaking with my HOA, I was explicitly told that the unit was under warranty and that East Coast Comfort confirmed this. Technicians came out in October, but the system only worked briefly and then stopped again. During this visit, one technician appeared unfamiliar with basic operation of the unit (including how to adjust heating on the remote), and another stepped onto my bed with dirty shoes to reach the unit, which I found very unprofessional and disrespectful. When they returned in November, I was told there was a leak and a faulty sensor. The issue was still not properly resolved, and I was told that if the problem happened again, it would simply be noted rather than fully fixed at that time. On December 1, I was contacted and told I owed nearly $390, with a claim that the warranty had expired - directly contradicting what I had been told earlier. The system then completely stopped producing heat again on December 23, during very cold weather. While the charge was eventually waived, I was still told I would need to pay labor costs for further repairs, even though the same unresolved sensor issue had already been identified. Communication throughout this process - especially from Lisa - was dismissive and condescending, and I felt pressured to pay for problems that were never properly fixed. Based on my experience, this company seems focused on selling systems rather than standing behind their work or providing reliable service. I would strongly caution others, especially homeowners expecting warranty support, to be very careful.

The first time was to install a whole-house surge protector, connect a new electrical connection from the outdoor overhead electrical lines down to our meter in the basement and move the electric meter from the inside of our house to the outside front wall of our 2-story rowhouse (an additional fire protection upgrade). A week later, they returned to do some finishing safety-focused touches that were difficult to integrate into the first visit. Specifically, they: - rewired a single outlet in the living room with older wiring that was apparently missed in the 1980's when the house underwent a comprehensive electrical upgrade. The upgrade included adding AFCI circuit protection and running a new circuit from the panel - added GFCI protection and replaced faulty tandem switches in basement for washer and dryer - added GFCI protection and replaced faulty tandem switches in 2nd floor bathroom to remediate faulty functioning of heat lamp and fan - replaced existing two 3-way switches for upstairs hallway and and one in bathroom - AFCI circuit protection for the Homeline circuit panel Terell and Jordan appeared to have done an excellent job. Their teamwork, professionalism and obvious technical knowledge, experience with older houses and confidence was, like in their first visit (but moreso), obvious and appreciated. Terell in particular has a great touch with the client, exuding confidence, a great sense of humor and a desire to provide superior service to the client. He and Jordan make a great team. The two of them powered through the entire job in less than 3 hours (versus the 4 + estimated time to complete). As far as cost, the entire job, including the cost to obtain and coordinate post-job City of Philadelphia permits, came in at a very reasonable $1,000. Perhaps because we'd already sunk several times that into the first, more significant upgrade a week earlier, several items on the bill were discounted. Given the hours of highly skilled labor by the team, a couple fairly expensive equipment items and the fact that (pending City inspections) a fully modernized electrical system, I'm satisfied with the value Gen 3 provided on these two jobs. My overall experience (including a conversation with Amy about the Gen3 maintenance plan which I am definitely getting after satisfactory City inspections) was a 5+ stars. Highly recommended. She made sure I was aware of the special they were running and assured me there would not be any surprise fees. The technician was on-time, extremely professional, friendly and took extra time to explain things in detail and trouble shoot things with us. We were perplexed as to why our electric bill was so high given that this is a 2 year old unit. He truly went above and beyond and probably spent way more time than is allotted for a routine service with us to figure out the problem - turns out the high density air filter we were using was causing the unit to work much harder than it should without moving much air - never would have figured this out without his help. And, as promised, we were only charged the quoted service fee special. Will not call anyone else for service or maintenance for anything heating or cooling related!

These people are crooks.
