During the pandemic, things got way out of hand and I needed the best lawyer who not only do what lawyers do best, but more importantly, understand at a personal level of my needs to help me get through it all. I called dozens of offices and right before choosing my lawyer, I called Jason. It was the best call I made. I remember the first time speaking to him vividly. He was caring, understanding, and very knowledgeable. He knew exactly what to do and would explain to me in every detail and answer all my mountains of questions without getting inpatient like most other lawyers would. Because of Jason, I got my life back to where it should be. As if none of it actually happened. I would always come back to Jason for his service and would recommend him to anyone in a flash. Thank you so much Jason. I hope you are doing well.

Your website clearly states that your firm services mental health treatment declarations and involuntary admissions petition and I was seeking interest in involuntary admissions. However, when I contacted your office seeking assistance, I was immediately told that taking on my case would be a conflict of interest, When I asked for clarification, I was informed that your firm only represents mental health facilities-not individual families. As a law firm you should understand the importance of accuracy and transparency, especially when families in distress are searching for help in urgent mental health matters. Advertising that you later state otherwise, is misleading and gives families false hope. Furthermore, Julia's response came across as dismissive and lacked empathy. Families dealing with mental health crises are often desperate for guidance, and the manner in which inquiries are handled can make a significant difference. When your company advertise one thing but communicates another, it does a disservice to the very people who need help the most. What a shame that a firm presenting itself as an advocate in mental health law would fail to extend the same care and clarity to families in need.

See my Demand Letter below: You did not acknowledge receipt of the prior email and Demand Letter. But I am a reasonable person, so here is your new demand letter. Please acknowledge receipt of this email. October 9, 2025 Helen Hopkins, President Victoria Troost, Treasurer Bonnie Varner and Jason Orth, Legal Counsel East Side Lofts Re: Demand for Refund of Assessments Paid by Non-Owner Dear Ms. Hopkins, Ms. Troost, and Ms. Varner: I write to demand an immediate refund of all regular and special assessments paid by me to East Side Lofts from August 2003 through January 2025. As confirmed in your counsel's recent correspondence, I have "no rights as an owner" because XXXi holds title to Unit ###. This means the Association has been collecting assessments from a party with no legal obligation to pay them. Under Illinois law, assessments are the obligation of the unit owner (765 ILCS 605/9(a)). The Association cannot retain payments collected from a non-owner while the actual owner remains unbilled. Basic principles of unjust enrichment and restitution require the return of these funds. Demand: Within 14 days: Calculate total regular and special assessments collected from me (per Association records) Issue a refund check for this amount, plus statutory prejudgment interest at 9% per annum (735 ILCS 5/2-1303) Confirm in writing that future assessments will be billed to XXX as the title owner. I note that the Association has complete records of all payments I made. This is a simple accounting exercise. If the Association fails to respond within 14 days, I will: - File a complaint with the Illinois DFPR Common Interest Community Ombudsperson - Initiate circuit court proceedings for restitution, plus Consumer - - Fraud Act violations for knowingly accepting payments from a non-obligor over 22 years I prefer an amicable resolution. Please confirm receipt and provide a timeline for compliance. Sincerely, Pavan Mahtani

Everything has been done professionally and right. Do they always return my calls or answer immediately? No, but guess what... I think they have other clients and other closings too! I partly blame myself for not researching her background and ability to complete a real estate transaction. She is not extremely experienced at all. Nancy extended the Attorney Inspection period without our verbal or written consent. Which resulted in us making changes to our house to please the "buyer" only for us to find out they could still back out. Which they did. After they backed out, we expected earnest $... Isn't that what it's for? We never would have extended that period. We were shocked by her lack of communication. After the entire miscommunication, Nancy apologized profusely and offered multiple times to waive her attorney fee. We accepted the deal and moved forward. Today we closed on our house and she took her fee out of our profits. Not surprised but disappointed. Why tell someone you will waive the fee and then go back on your word? Nancy's answer to charging us (via her assistant because she will not ever email or call you herself).... "It was more work then I expected" Like I said... RUN!!!!!!
