If I could leave zero stars I would. I'm not the type of person to leave reviews but in this case I felt like I had to. I've been going to this location one 2 times due to losing my job from Covid, desperate times. And since we live out towards Elmendorf, this location was closest. After a month of our ps4 pro and our hp laptop sitting there this last time, we come to find tiny German roaches coming out of our ps4 during the late night we hadn't even hooked up our ps4 yet since we got home late from doing other shopping. Now we live in a tiny home in the country which rarely people get roaches unless you're messy and trashy which we are not and being in a tiny home if you don't know what that's like you have to always be clean and my husband is a bigger clean freak than I am. We cleaned top to bottom of our home until 5:48am and didn't go to sleep in fear that there could be one just waiting while all of our blankets and clothes and my make up was set outside along with the ps4 and laptop in case anymore got on our belongings. Not to mention I'm also 6 months pregnant and we're preparing for a little girl and as first time parents, why would we want or have a roach infestation? That would be irresponsible of us to bring something so precious into this world just to have her living next to filthy, ugly little bugs. It's disgusting to even think about. The next morning I called the pawn shop and I wasn't trying to be a "karen" believe me, I hated getting those phone calls at my last job. I calmly asked to speak with a manager who came on the phone immediately. I said "Good morning sir, I was in your location yesterday late afternoon getting my belongings out. When my husband and I returned home with our electronics later that night from shopping all day, we noticed some roaches crawling about in the area we set electronics down while we unpacked everything else. My husband noticed it first and killed 2 and after a little while I saw one and killed it and my husband then was trying to figure out how this could of happened we literally went to Best Buy, a card store to buy Pokémon stuff, the pawn shop to retrieve our belongings, the grocery store and then to drop off things for my baby shower with his mom to hold (who also lives out in the country and she doesn't have a roach problem and my husband gets his cleaning habits from his mom). The manager said he doesn't know how that happened because they get sprayed "regularly" and I said if you have to get sprayed regularly then that means you have them. I'm upset at the fact that my belongings are now destroyed I don't even want them back in my house, and the fact that people can't just take responsibility anymore these days. Like if he was honest and said I'm so sorry that would of been ok. Honestly I was hoping they would replace both electronics but I knew for that area the pawn shop is in that wouldn't happen but I never imagined the manager getting all defensive about little roaches saying he doesn't have them. But yet the shop is in the city and it's not the cleanest area if we're being honest but I guess it mostly comes back to me for being desperate for money and making sure we stayed a little above water while Covid messes up what was left from our economy to sink it more into the ground. Needless to say, this was a horrible experience, we're never going back to that location and hopefully never any pawn shops again. Sorry I wrote so much but some people need to be put in their place when they messed up. I'm not saying the whole "customer is always right" thing but sometimes they are and as a company you should do better and be better for your customers. I can't even post pictures because the ps4 and laptop are in 3 trash bags sitting outside. read more
