Do not be fooled by their low pricing. The guy who helped me said tolls were included in the pricing. It was a separate charge. He convinced me to opt for gas coverage but failed to mention the charge would be for a full tank of gas regardless of how much gas was actually used. Check in was a breeze. I am a frequent traveler and used autoslash.com (great site) to find cheapest rental. They were cheapest on a weekly rental of a minivan in Orlando by over 40%. I started to panic by reviews here and elsewhere to the point where I checked rates at others as a backup plan. They did not even try a little to get me to get their insurance or buy their gas like even the big guys do. They noted all damage to vehicle before I left. He found more scratches than I did and told me where to find cheapest gas upon return as Orlando has a lot of ripoff airport area gas stations. Return of vehicle was just as easy. Barely looked at it although I had not damaged it and we finished checkout within five minutes. I will definitely use them again on my next trip. read more

The Ez rental agent in Boston/Logan (Barbara) was rude and pushing very hard to sell us services we didn't need. She insisted that the car we rented was not big enough, that the Yaris had no trunk, that we needed a ezpass as most toll exchanges don't accept cash, and never told us an extra driver had an additional charge. Further, she gave a condescending "thank you" as we were leaving with an obnoxious smirk. Indeed, a very negative experience. I would definitely go with a larger car rental agency next time. MINUS ZERO REVIEW: HORRIBLE!!!! DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!!! We rented piece of junk car only because we were desperate due to a family emergency. We were truly in a bind. The car looked a like wreck. I dutifully noted the damages and gave to attendant. We drove the car and it ran OK despite discomfort but like I said we were in a bind. We returned the car and the attendant checked us in and said nothing.. TWO MONTHS LATER THEY SAY WE CAUSED DAMAGES!!! Ridiculous! They say we are responsible for additional damages (almost $600). They have no evidence we caused any damage. We did not. Clearly they are trying to rip us off. I'm renting a car from this EZ Car Rental. I realized I never added the EPass to my contract so I went into the office to add it to my contract. I left my car in the rental area with the EZ Pass attendants and when I went back to my car my Ray Ban Sunglasses were missing. From the middle console of the car and the papers I had on my seat were scattered throughout the car. The attendants all swore up and down no one was in my car with large smirks on their faces. I use EZ Car Rental EVERY TIME I travel to Orlando, Ft. Lauderdale or Jacksonville! They are priced well, have great customer service and the process is also very quick. I literally made a reservation online during the ten-minute walk following landing and got right into a car when I arrived. I was especially drawn to their policy in regards to using a debit card because I refuse to get credit cards and do not feel I should be penalized for it. It was the first time renting from EZ...the price was right but what about the service and would they try to upsell me (I reserved a compact)? I flew into Orlando but needed to drive to Clearwater. When I got to the rental car area the lines for Hertz and Budget were long and moving slowly but at EZ there was no line and I got service right away. The man behind the counter was polite and didn't try to upsell me or scare me into the extra insurance. I breezed through the check out process and went to the parking garage to get the car. It was a very nice Hyundai. The EZ man at the exit lane gave me excellent directions to the turnpike (I would have been lost without them). After arriving in Clearwater I needed to add my brother as a driver at the last minute. No problem...they did it within minutes and the price was nominal. When I checked in at the Orlando airport to drop off the car it was quick and easy and the service was courteous. DO NOT TRUST OR USE THIS COMPANY!! Last week we rented a Toyota Sierra, after the rep instructed us to upgrade from the Kia Sedona based on passenger size. I had booked the rental through a discount my job offers, I asked the rep at the time would I be receiving the upgrade for the same price as the original vehicle I pre-booked online. The rep assured me that I would get all the same discounts. Well fast forward to last night, I check my statement to see not only did they deduct $748.52 from my account on a car that was only about $500 for the week, they also took and additional $500.00, totaling over $1200.00. When we called the 800 number about this the rep stated that the $748 was just the amount they held and the other charges were done after the vehicle was returned. The car was returned with a full tank and no damages, no tolls (we paid cash for those). The agreed upon amount was $748 which included the $250.00 deposit and their insurance because we couldn't use our own we didn't opt for the pre-paid gas of SunPass for tolls, we knew it would be cheaper out of pocket. This company draws you in with the low car rental amount and BOOM they charge you a ridiculous price that you did not agree too and doesn't reflect on your receipt. I'm currently disputing all the charges through my bank. I'm only giving it 1 star because you can't do zero. DO NOT TRUST OR USE THIS COMPANY!!!! read more

SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE AND DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!! I made my reservation through Expedia, and was really happy with the rate of $40 a day. Once I got to the pickup location, first, the guy was the most unprofessional guy, leaning back in his chair with his feet on the counter, casually opening some container with fruit in it, sharing with someone else, and being uncooperative. It was 9pm. I was given an estimate of $84.12, which included liability insurance of $14.99, which was my option, toll pass (which was pushed by the counter person and didn't even need) at $9.99. I left the airport in the car, and it had already started raining pretty bad. It seems that the seal on the car door wasn't right, because it started leaking straight on me. I immediately called their 800 number, which by the way, is a hot mess to get through and at some point I even heard an option of "if you got a home bill collections letter" and "if you need an attorney", press such and such number. I finally get through an operator and she says I have to call back in the morning to see if they have another car to exchange it for. I ended up keeping the car and driving the whole next day 8 hours to Atlanta. I tried several times to call their customer service number to let them know I'd be there right on time, but never got a person. I finally get to the location, only to find that the EZ rentacar booth was closed, lights off, and no person in sight and no sign. They are listed to be open 24 hours. I went to another agency booth and they told me I had to turn the car in with a different company. Getting around the Atlanta airport to "the other company" took almost 30 minutes. Once I got there, I had to wait another 25 minutes for the lady to process the return. She just handed me a receipt at some point in between other clients and that was it...until I noticed that the "new" and previously undisclosed amount, came to $137.18. Not only did they charge me for the (unnecessary and unrequested) toll pass, and liability insurance, both per "calendar day" instead of a 24 hour rental (total scam), but they tacked on a bunch of other bogus charges, like a "tire battery fee" and some "concession fee", PLUS, they had the audacity to charge me $13.33 for a one hour late drop off fee. When I called their customer service, and finally got a person, all she kept saying is that they have my signature and can charge me anything they want. She REFUSED for 45 minutes to let me talk to a manager, saying "at this company, it is not possible to speak with a manager". She finally took off the one hour charge (how gracious), and never even addressed the fact that they gave me a messed up car. My phone was plugged in the whole way for GPS and kept getting kicked off. Such a crap car (Kia). I did call my cc company and they are disputing the bogus charges. We'll see. Meanwhile, save yourself the headache and go with a reputable company. Even my cc company felt that there is something fishy about this company and the way they scam people. read more

We got the Blue Toyota Yaris, looks like we stole the vehicle right off the set of Psych. It was awesome. Felt like a Flintstone vehicle, no power door locks, windows, or cruise control, but we loved it. It was fun great gas mileage. There were so many hidden compartments in that car I was amazed. The check in for picking up a vehicle was super fast. Guy was nice. Sold me some extra insurance thing I really didn't want but with my luck on my past vaca's, I bought it. Drop off was super easy. DO NOT RENT from this location or any EZ rental car locations. I've had the worst experience with this location and the EZ rental car company customer service. I booked through Priceline.com and everything was prepaid. However after my trip my credit card statement showed a charge. Turns out ez car charges me taxes once again on top of Priceline. Customer service would not help out at all and nor would Priceline, each pointing fingers at the other. I then had to resort to my credit card company for a refund. Few months after renting, another charge appeared on my credit card. Charge was $127 and upon inquiring they stated it was toll charges. I had declined use of ez pass, and paid cash at all toll booths. Yet I i was charged again. Never issued a refund and customer service kept insisting I call Florida highway and toll administration. Absurd to pay $127 in toll charges. Stick with Alamo, Enterprise etc. Never again will I rent from EZ car and I hope this post serves as a warning and deters anyone else thinking of renting from these crooks. read more

We rented 2 SUV's and after finding out that one SUV wouldn't lock using the push button on the key we called to inform them so they didn't think we caused the issue. No agent was available no operator was available. We left a message it's now day 4 with multiple messages left each day with no response. The second SUV after one day then idiot light came on informing us that service is needed. Like my above message no response no one is avaliable. I booked a car from Orlando (MCO) Airport with a confirmed price of $173.22. (Confirmation#: EZ Car Rental- NBTZ0FF670 $173.22) At pickup, the E-Z representative (name withheld) offered me an upgrade at "no additional charge". After a brief discussion about the expected gas mileage of this bigger, upgrade, car, I agreed, as it was a 'free' upgrade. I then specifically declined the additional insurance (CDW). The only additional fee I agreed to at pickup was the Easy Pass (SunPass) pre-paid toll which the E-Z representative (name withheld) assured me was a one-time fee of some $37 (this later became $55.92, but that was the least of my problems!). To cut to the chase, after I returned the car (undamaged), I got my credit card statement with a payment of $789.45. (Contract # MCO-364584). Despite my agreement to take the upgrade only if it was free and my express instructions that I did not want to take additional insurance, the E-Z representative (name withheld), or someone in the office had added a $120.20 upgrade fee and Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) to the contract. To add insult to injury, the CDW cost even more because thy charged me the rate for the bigger car. Despite calls almost every day to E-Z Car Rental's Customer Care department and repeated e-mails to them requesting they review my contract, I have never once received a reply. Try calling the E-Z Car Rental Customer Care at 407-674-1006. The call is never answered! If you wait on hold a message every minute or so will inform you that they are busy assisting other callers, but despite how long you wait, your call will not be picked up. The message will suggest you leave your name and number and they will return your call within one business day. I imagine that if anyone at E-Z Car Rental ever bothered to listen to those messages, mine would be the first voice they would hear! I have lost count of the number of phone messages I have left, all unreturned. I have sent e-mails to the same E-Z Car Rental Customer Care department and never received a reply. I'm out $600. Made reservation online, and all went very smoothly at the counter. We were there in mid- March, so not during the busy season. Got right up to the counter, and were checked out within 5 minutes. Options were mentioned, but there was no hard sell. Location is right there with all of the other rental counters, and car location was easy to get to. Return went very quickly as well. If I don't get any strange bills from them in the near future, I would definitely rent from them again. This is the worst rental car company I've ever dealt with. My flight was delayed, and when I got there, they had given away my reservation. I was stranded at the Denver airport (which is in the middle of nowhere). The guy at the reservation counter was very rude & and talked about me as I walked away. I was not rude to him, nor did I flip out when he told me that my reservation was given away. When I finally got a reservation at another car rental company, they told me that the industry standard is 12 hours before they'll give away your reservation. When I called customer service to tell them about the issue & the lady hung up on my because I said damn. I have never had such a horrible customer service experience in my life. I just went to the Orlando airport and rented a car from advantage which is partnered with this company. The guy at the counter checked me in told me I had to purchase a car until I left Orlando in four days.... Which I had never heard of before.... I paid way more than I was initially quoted.... $90 for a day for a Toyota...... I was quoted $40..... I picked up the car and noticed the outside was dirty. I then notified the agent and she asked me if I wanted to switch cars I told her no that I just wanted to be compensated she told me to call the front desk. I left the airport and when I got to my destination I looked around the inside of the car, there are stains in the back seat. Like old food and stuff smeared on the back seat. It was very dusty.. I've been trying to call the manager since I left an hour ago and NOONE is answering!!! I've left messages and NO ONE HAS CALLED BACK! When we tried to get in the "EZ" van at the Tampa Airport to drive to the rental counter, the driver said they only had two cars left, and he had already let passengers into the van for those two cars. We did not get a car, no matter how we tried. We were stuck at midnight at the airport and had to rent elsewhere for a much higher price. A very bad experience. Involved in our first traffic accident in 35 years while on Rt 436. Called immediately to report it as car was not drivable. Was asked 1 question.. was it our fault? They asked us to come down with the paperwork the next day. How? Car towed away ! Luckily we were within walking distance of our hotel. They did not offer to get us, told us they might not be able to rent us another car, but still wanted us to return the keys etc!!! Called Enterprise the next day. They gave us a ride to the rental office and we secured another car. Then we went to E-Z Rental office, settled with them and left.. Be sure to ask what happens if you are in an accident to ANY car rental agency you use. I've asked several different ones and they were appalled by our treatment.
