I contacted SS for an estimate to clean the windows on my house. The estimate I received started…read morewith a quote for house washing which I had not asked for. It then provided 3 prices for different levels of window cleaning. That section was followed by a proposal for a 2 year proposal for a visit each year which included a range of services including window washing. This was followed by a 2 year, 2 visit proposal. When I sought clarification on the 2 year, 1 visit proposal they responded with information about the window cleaning levels that did not address my specific question. When I followed up to get my question answered they noted that the multi-year agreement was not relevant to the window washing only. They did offer a discount on the window washing because of the confusion. Further correspondence revealed that the discount only comes on subsequent services and they offered to prepare a proposal detailing all of this. Then I learned that they would not provide the proposal until I had scheduled (and received?) the first year service. At that point, the red flag was up and I responded that I was not going to hire them because the process and information had been confusing from the start and did not improve. My concern being that any issues with the actual work would result in the same communication problems. Amazingly, they responded and essentially put it back on me....what I couldn't understand..... Never in 40 plus years of providing professional services did I ever tell a potential client that they were the problem.
