Since knowing Kanoa he has done my brother's wedding, my best friend's wedding and this time I was lucky enough to snag him for my maternity photos. He doesn't typically do maternity shoots, but I was so confident in him because of what I saw him do with the weddings I just had to have him. The location I picked for my photos was about an hour and a half from Kanoa's location and he was on time and spent 3 hours with us. Patient and kind the entire time. He was incredibly professional and very detail oriented, checking in with me multiple times before the shoot asking for my vision. He always responded promptly and was beyond respectful. I was feeling very insecure about the photo shoot (almost cancelled the morning of) and Kanoa made me feel comfortable and confident. He talked me through every step giving me little sneak peaks along the way to build my confidence. Because of this my maternity photos turned out more beautiful than I could have possibly imagined. He knew all the perfect positions for me to look my best. He also had impeccable timing for our dreamy sunset photo shoot. We literally can't decide what photos we like best. Kanoa and Eyeconik helped us with photography (plus video of our ceremony) for our somewhat unconventional wedding event - a friends-focused club night that included a short ceremony at the start. It also started with getting ready at night and taking family/friend photos in our backyard after sunset, given COVID meant we had to push our event back to November. Kanoa went above and beyond being willing to work with both the outdoor photos, bringing his own additional lighting, and taking photos at the club venue where we were having our event. He was also stepping in for another photographer who could no longer make our event, and was willing and eager to help out despite the short notice of only a few weeks. When my (now) husband and I first met with Kanoa and Sara about our wedding, we knew they were the right team we wanted to have shoot our day. I was happy to meet with Kanoa, my photographer, in a charmingly renovated downtown neighborhood in Martinez. We had conferred prior to our meeting, so I had already told him what I was looking for in terms of acting headshots. We decided on outdoor locations. He was timely and business like, he had already scoped out some spots that offered the type of light he had thought would be best for our shots. He showed me the pics at several points during our meeting, and worked with me to get the type of shots I was going for. He is very good with lighting, and especially good with making his subjects feel comfortable. He is a friendly, engaging, and unassumingly talented person. Kanoa had told me that we would need about 20 - 30 minutes for the shots, and we were done in 25. I got 17 gorgeous shots out of the session, and he returned the link to me the next day. I have worked with few photographers who deliver so well and so efficiently, on time!!! The headshots are just right for my needs, and I have heard nothing but compliments on them.
