The prices of frames are outlandish and honestly gawdy. Poor customer service. Poorly trained staff. Since Susan Lake is no longer managing the business, it has gone down hill. Looking for a new optometrist. read more

due to a previous eye condition, I had been instructed to always to see an ophthalmologist, not an optometrist. I called for an appointment with an ophthalmologist and was told I had to see the optometrist and get a referral. The optometrist seemed to be in a hurry and responded in an unprofessional manner to an inquiry. I was given a referral for an ophthalmologist and the first appointment available which was 6 weeks out. When I showed up for my appointment, I was informed that it had been canceled, but no one had notified me. read more

I was in need of an eye examination. Due to being a student in warrensburg my availability was limited. This office however was extremely flexible not only with the scheduling of my appointment but the guidance I received while filling our insurance information. The process was enjoyable due to their comfortable office and extremely kind staff. I would definitely recommend! read more

I loved my experience with Eyecare Specialties! From the ladies checking me in for my appointment, through meeting with the optometrist (who was hilarious) to the lady who spent an hour with me helping me pick out my perfect pair - everyone was so helpful and friendly. I would 100% suggest Eyecare Specialties for anyone who is just looking for a checkup or needing significant vision help. read more

Meet the Business Owner: Jason L.

A native of Kansas Dr. Lake got his Bachelor's degree from Kansas State University, completed his doctorate with honors at Southern College of Optometry. In 1998 he founded Eyecare Specialties in Central Missouri with offices in Clinton, Sedalia & Warrensburg. Dr. Jason & his wife, Dr. Susan Lake, are leaders in the eye care industry, while maintaining a positive business culture where employees, vendors & patients feel at home. He also does practice management consulting for optometrists throughout North America. With a strong commitment to community he's an active member of the Rotary Club, Optimist International, Chamber of Commerce, and served as president of the Warrensburg Park & Recreation boar, among others. The team optometrist for the University of Central Missouri Mules and Jennies athletic teams, Dr. Lake is also involved in optometry on a state and national level. Dr Lake enjoys spending time with his wife & 3 daughters, water skiing, football, boating & running marathons.
