La primera vez que asisti a mi cita llegue 15 min antes como me digeron y me llamaron 1,1/2 hora despues de mi cita. Me dieron una excusa barata. No le hice swing a eso. El la proxima consulta por cuestiones de trabajo y el trafico llegue 10 min tarde. Y me digeron que no podian atenderme porque habia llegado 15 min tarde. Deberian ser tan estrictos asi tambien para cuando uno llega temprano. Y ya dicho sea de paso, que busque otros diagnosticos porque a todos los pacientes lo que siempre le mandan con seguridad es gotas de 2000 dolares para supuestas vacterias en los parpados. Seems very disorganized. On my first visit, that was scheduled weeks ahead of time, I had to wait 30 min. just to find out IF the Dr. was going to see me for a basic glasses/contact exam. Then they didn't even bill my vision insurance (after I paid the co-pays in the office) and sent the bill to me! It took 4 calls to their office and lots of time on hold to find out their ridiculous billing error. On the plus side, the nurse/optician who did my intake exam was excellent. read more

What a terrible experience! Several years ago, I went to Community Eye centers of Port Charlotte for dry eye. I don't remember the Doctor' name but he referred to their Dry Eye Clinic in North Port FL they really didn't fix the problem; they just told me to use warm compresses and don't touch your eye lids. I told myself that I would never go there again. I searched for an Ophthalmologist that wasn't at Community Eye. I found Dr Taibe and made an appointment. When I pulled into the address it was Community Eye Centers building! When I checked in, I told them I wasn't happy with my previous experience, but I was reassured that they were under new ownership. I should have walked out and paid the 50.00 co pay! The first appointment in Port Charlotte I saw Dr Taibe for the lid surgery and dry eyes. At the first visit with Dr Taibe gave me a discount coupon for Pataday. Dr Taibe said he didn't do eye surgery and that Dr Rubio could help me with my eye lids and the dry eyes. Pass the patient games begin. I was referred to Eye Associates of Fort Myers FL from Eye Associates Port Charlotte FL to see Raul Hernandez Rubio, DO for an eye lid lift. At the first appointment with Dr Rubio, I was given an eye drop to open my eyelids to see if they responded to that medication and they did. I was given 1 sample to try "several times" in the next two weeks before my next appointment. I asked the nurse how am I supposed to use these eye drops several times when the sample is a onetime dose? She said use it multiple times "wink wink"? I thought how will I be able to keep a onetime dose clean and not spill the remainder? Of course, the remaining sample spilled. I don't understand that If I was to do several trials of this eye drop, I was only given one sample able to use! I had to wait 2 weeks for my next appointment! I also asked Dr Rubio about the dry eyes and he told me he could refer me to another Fellow! It was a game of pass the patient! At the second appointment (another 1 hour drive each way) I was sent to a financial councilor. I notified him that I was in a clinical trial for a GLP-1 medication. He really didn't understand that it was a double-blind study and that no one knew if I was getting the real medication or a placebo. He collected 700.00 prepaid for my procedure and surgery center. On the way home he called me again and he told me he went to "upper management" about the clinical trial and I had two choices, quit the clinical trial or get the surgery. I informed him a second time that my doctor would authorize stopping the medication a week so that I could get the procedure. Then he called me a second time to ask me if I was diabetic, I informed him I was not. He probably should have asked me when I was there! At the third visit an hour away I was given a field of view test. the same test I did a few years ago at the Port Charlotte location! I asked why did I have to drive an hour both ways to get this test! I was told that the same doctor that is doing the procedure had to do the test. I stated you are all the same company! I could have done it in Port Charotte near where I live! Finally, after the third visit, I was sent to another councilor to schedule the actual surgery. I was given a surgery date on 12-30-2025. This surgery date was delayed was because I had to wait two weeks for "one sample" eye drop appointment. When trying to schedule the 12-30-2025 surgery I told the councilor that I had a cruise scheduled for January 3 2026. She informed me that there are restrictions for exposure to salt air and sun, I made a confused look at her, then she left to talk to Dr Rubio. She came back and told me that I had to be available to see Dr Rubio for two weeks after the surgery and that my only options were to cancel my cruise or reschedule after the first of the year. I had met all of my deductible for 2025 and didn't want to have to pay that all over after I had so many hours and visits. Finally frustrated beyond belief I told them to cancel the surgery and that I would find a competent Doctor and facility to get my procedure done. read more

Got cataracts done here, this place is a rip off. Had to have Lazer done and lenses l paid extra for were not in my eyes. Told them I was allergic to epinephrine and they used it. read more

I went to Eye Centers of Florida to have implantable contact lenses (IPL) several years ago and haven't had any issues since. I was very extremely nearsighted, and I couldn't get Lasik or PRK because my corneas were too thin, and I have an astigmatism. I did my research and found that these fine folks would do IPL. IPL is basically the same procedure they do for cataracts, but they use prescription lenses to correct near or farsightedness. It was the best thing I'd ever done. It cost me $5000 at the time and it was the best money spent. No more glasses or contacts. Once the drugs wore off and my eyes opened, I could see absolutely perfectly. It was amazing. read more

The Evans Ave location is poorly managed. I've been a patient here for 3 years & have never been seen on time. If you're working, take the day off & bring a book because you will be taken in 45-60 min past your appointment time & will sit idle for the majority of your visit. (If they weren't the local only practice offering serum tears I wouldn't still be a patient.) read more

The doctor is nice and so is the staff but the wait time is unrealistic. They schedule way too many appointments and don't have the number of doctors to accommodate. I arrived early for my appointment (730 for 755 appointment). I did not see the doctor until after 9AM. I schedule the first appointment because I work full time and can't take a day off just for a doctors appointment. I will not come here again. read more

While waiting for my wife in the doctors waiting room I noticed an illegal take refuge from the outdoor heat by planting herself in a chair for an hour plus, make repeated phone calls, and then simply get up and leave. There was no effort by staff to verify and monitor who was walking in and out of Eye Centers of Florida. I will encourage my wife to seek a different physician at a different location as a means of minimizing the potential for a criminal act to be perpetrated against an unsuspecting individual waiting to see the doctor. read more

Since the change in management this has become a terrible facility to visit. The wait is atrocious , the staff doesn't seem to care and communication to present patient is horrible,. I made my last visit today. I didn't even get to see my doctor who had me returning today because he had changed my prescription for my eye care at last visit and this was supposed to be a test to see if change was positive or negative. read more

I have used eye center on Evans for years. Many cosmetic procedures and eye laser procedures as well. I have been seeing Susan Foster for hydro facials for last 7 years and got the the clinic this morning for my 8:30 appt and at 8:45 they informed me that she retired last month which she did not mention to me at my last appt. Keep in mind that I drive in from Alva and the weather was terrible this morning. They do not have a replacement to do these. No consideration for their clients. My husband walked away from them last year due to the horrible service and went with Frantz. Since Dr Brown sold the business its turned into a circus. I have been waiting almost two years to get a laser service and they cannot find a dr to do it. I will never do business with this company again. When they cant even call you to cancel an appt that tells you all you need to know. Stay away from this place. Many customers are complaining. read more

I had eye surgery that I prepaid for. I continued to get bills so I assumed there were additional charges for the surgery. I ended up overpaying over $1000.00. I had to call numerous times and have the account audited. I never once received an apology for the mix up or inconvenience. Also, when you schedule an appointment, expect to leave at least 2 hours later. My time is way more important than that. read more

The place was okay. The wait time is sometimes several hours. Be prepared to spend your whole morning waiting. The office staff is nice. This office in particular over books their patients. The new provider is not as understanding as the previous physician. The atmosphere for this location is mediocre. I would not recommend this location. This place seems to overbook on purpose. *Twice* now we had an appointment at a certain time, get called in 20 minutes after that and put in ANOTHER waiting room. Then sat there for ANOTHER 40 minutes. This is two different appointments, same thing happened- finally see the doc over an hour after the appointed time. Doctor Quinn is good but office staff is horrible! Take way too long to tend to you, appointment wait time are super long, over 1 1/2 hours on multiple occasions. Staff is more interested in small talk and banter rather than actually caring for the patients that are waiting. They do not communicate effectively and get super defensive when asking for timely updates on the delays. Too many excuses and sloppiness in this office staff. Go elsewhere unless you like to waste a lot of time. read more

Had an appt on July 7. On 7/3,7/6,7/7 I get text notifications reminding me of my appt. 7/6 I receive a call reminding me of my appt on 7/7 at 3:05. I said the appt is at 2. First off an appointment here is a waste of time as you are left sitting in the lobby for hours after your appointment is schedule.Once you are called back the waiting doesn't stop you will wait for a few more hours. I had a surgery here a year ago and am still recovering from it it was a routine surgery and there was no explanation as to why i still have imflamma in my eye. Let's not forget the unprofessional manner in which they act I was given imformation regarding the swelling in my eye that should never have been shared in front of the nurse nor should it have been shared in the manner it was shared it made me think something totally different and created an argument that should have never happened I highly recommend going elsewhere as I have done so myself read more

I provided my written prescription that staff scanned when I first visited Eye Center of FL on Evans in Ft Myers. It took 3 weeks to get the glasses, the longest I have waited in 50 years of glasses wearing. When I picked the glasses up the staff just handed them to me and said ok, you are all set. Typically glasses need a little adjusting, so I took them from the case and as soon as I put them in I knew there was a problem because I was seeing double. Staff kept insisting that I just needed to get used to them. I then called the eye dr who provided the prescription who ran me through some tests over the phone and was able to determine that the left lens was basically installed upside down. I returned to EC of FL and explained, the staff then sullenly admitted there was a mistake. I asked if the correction could be expedited, the response was no effort on the staff part, just no, don't think so, probably another 3 weeks. To top it off she then then pulled down her mask to sneeze in her hand and then hand my glasses case back. WOW - read more

BEWARE OF EYE CENTER OF FL. I paid up front for the Premium Lense eye surgery, but after the first eye was done, Dr. Quin recommended going with the Gold Package for the second eye to achieve the vision I wanted. The Gold Package is $1400 cheaper and was told I would receive a refund. I have been trying for several weeks to get the refund to no avail. I have made numerous attempts to talk to someone only to be passed off to someone else and lied to about resolving the issue. Be careful not to over pay. read more

WHAT A RIP OFF!!! I went in to the Naples location off Tamiami. They quoted me $99 dollars for an exam. I ended up paying $121.00 for the exam and then they sent me a bill in the amount of $235.00. Can somebody explain to me how the hell a routine eye exam costs $356.00? This is absurd! read more

This place is run absolutely horrible. I had accompanied my grandma for her 8am appointment. We checked in and sat down. We waited an hour before I went up to the desk to verify that my grandma had checked in properly. The girls up front had a difficult time finding her account with all the information provided, a couple of minutes later, then FINALLY found the account. They then told me that they were short staffed and that there was a sign that said they were short staffed so wait times would be longer. I told the girl that I understand they are short staffed and I wasn't complaining, I was just verifying that the check in was properly done (on our end) fast forward to another hour later. It is now 10am. I go back up to the desk and speak to the girl on the left. She tells me that my grandmas appointment was at 10:40am and that's why she keeps getting skipped over. I let the girl know that my grandma has texts and several voicemails confirming her appointment at 8am. I get the phone and show the girl. She becomes confused and then the other girl chimes in. The other girl says "yes, she was scheduled for 8am, I had to move her to the 10:40am slot because we had to make accommodations, we quadruple booked ourselves and we are short staffed, (repeats again) there's a sign that says we are short staffed and wait times are longer" I again told the girl that was now getting an attitude with me that I understand they are short staffed and we have been patient but 2 hours just to be seen for an appointment that takes 2 and a 1/2 hours is insane and because she moves my grandmas appointment to a different time slot she has been getting skipped for 2 straight hours. I let the girl know that if they know they are short staffed, they should probably be calling appointments to reschedule and reduce the schedule to something they are able to manage. She they told me to contact management about suggestions. At this point I walked away because things weren't getting resolved. I work in healthcare as well, and KNOW AND UNDERSTAND what it's like being short staffed but I also communicate with our clients about wait times and let them know if I need to make "accommodations" or Change their original appointment time because I mistakenly booked 3 other appointments at the same time. For what you or I spent on glasses. I would have to say the quality sucks. They are transitional and progressive. In order for me to see out them properly I need to lower them further down on my nose..if they were doing a proper job this would not be. Unfortunately I can not return them. I've been trying to get a hold of the one lady that orders contacts because theirs only one person who can order contacts. She doesn't answer the phone and when you leave a voicemail she doesn't return your calls. Instead they sent me a postcard it's time for a new eye exam. No thank you! I went to Eye Centers with VA referral. I was told I needed catarac surgery and could get regular lenses paid for thru my insurance and VA or I could get lenses that worked at distance and close up. When dr brown did surgery in both eyes the more expensive lens was only put a n one eye and the generic lens in the other with the explanation that the lens pocket was too small . This was done without my authorization. My sight was foggy and there were palpaitations and glare. I was told this would clear up. After many legnthy and cancelled appointments always resulting in long office waits I was scheduled for laser surgery that would clear my vision. It helped but I still couldnt focus both eyes gad fog and glare. I was prescribed drops which burnt my eyes 2 days the first time used. I was told i was probably allergic to it and prescribed somethings ng else taken for a month with no change. I was told eyelid surgery was needed and this reulted in that test being performed 3 times over about 6 months with the explanation it had to be done in a limited time before surgery. I was finally told it would be better to have plastic surgery raising both my eyebrows and eyelids. All the time I was told my poor vision would be addressed. I asked the eyeglass department about getting reading glasses and was told to get a drs prescription next time I came in. This was to be referred out at the same time that my inability to see well was determined as good" as it was going to get". This took17 months. I will tell VA not to use this provider in my opinion. I will request all of my records to see if someone else can correct my vision read more

I had never had glasses before. I went here thinking I would get an expert exam and glasses. First of all, why go to a Dr if the techs do the exam? The Dr did absolutely nothing. I came back two weeks later to pick up my glasses and couldn't see a thing!!!! They said oh you have to get used to them. A month later after trying them, still did not work and they kept sliding way down and off. I thought maybe that was the problem. I tried to work them around to see if there was any point on them I could see through. The top portion was unuseable. Near, far it didn't matter. The bottom half I could see through with my right eye if I tilted my head way back and looked sideways. WTLH?!!! Went back a couple.months again, and the desk staff were so rude. After an hour and a half wait, the TECH redid the exam and lenses. They still were not right. You would think they would know how to fit frames and give proper exams but not here. I went here on a recommendation, and then found out she had the same problem. She said they asked how she was doing and she said well not good, the prescription still isn't right! Still isn't right to this day. We both are using drug store readers. Cost me almost $200 and a lot of wasted gas and time for absolutely nothing. And that was with insurance. I'm stuck with worthless glasses that sit in a drawer. read more

After suffering a sever eye injury I immediately began seeing Dr. Yee and her team to get a plan in place for my eye to heal. She was fantastic to have as a doctor during a stressful (and painful) time. Her team was also outstanding as they treated me like family. When it was time for surgery, Dr. Fernandez and his team took the baton...they were were equally as fantastic. Whether you see Dr. Yee or Dr. Fernandez you will be in great hands! read more

Save your time and go somewhere else. We are new to the area and my kids needed eye exams. The insurance suggested this place. We made appointments. Showed up 15 min early to fill out paperwork and waited an HOUR beyond our appointment time before they actually got us in. This place is dirty. The equipment is old. They are understaffed. THEN they refused to do my son's contact fitting because they were understaffed and didn't have time. Hello, that's what we made the appointment for!!! Approximately one month ago I ask one of my doctors if he could recommend someone for optical care. He recommended the North Fort Myers, Florida location of "Eye Care Centers of Florida" located at the intersection of Del Prado and Tamiami Trail. I have never dealt with such an unprofessional unresponsive organization. They don't answer their phones and, if they do when they take a message they don't call back. The doctor rushes in, spends the minimum amount of time then rushes out. In my wife's case he told her to use two types of eye drops to treat a bacterial infection. Two weeks later he told her to stop using the drops. As she was leaving he ducked into the treatment room and told her to take one of the drops for the next three months. He just didn't say which one. We have tried to contact him repeatedly but, after three weeks, we have had no success. We could probably have gotten better care in the midst of the Ukrainian conflict. read more

From the first contact through the cataract surgery to final checkup, everyone at the Eye Centers of Florida did Outstanding Excellent work. Every appointment was fast and friendly and with the experience of Dr. David C. Brown my final results are fantastic. Contrary to other reviews the pricing was very reasonable and I would add that if you have had past retinal problems Dr. Browns procedures are the way to go by avoiding the lasers. read more

My husband & I had been going to Florida Eye Centers for years and never had an issue until now. It took 11 visits to get my glasses, and they are still not right. This all started back in December and my last time I stepped foot in their office to pickup the glasses was 1st part of April. The bifocal on my glasses isn't right but better considering the 1st three times I got them, they were completely out of wack, couldn't see anything out of them, too strong. I knew immediately that my 1st two exams were garbage. The girl that did the exam both times obviously doesn't like her job or she didn't know what she was doing. Dr, E ( I'll just use initials) was the eye doctor and I only saw him briefly. But he did say my prescription hadn't changed much and I really didn't need new glasses, the choice was mine. My husband had to get new glasses and as it so happens, they were running some sort of special on certain frames, so I decided to get a pair so that I would have an extra pair in case mine broke. So we ordered them up. When they came in, my husband picked them up, brought them home. Neither pair darken when going out side, they were suppose to, and my husband was having a problem with the bifocal part being to strong, and my pair, I must couldn't see out of them. Way too strong. So we took them back and the eyeglass tech said he would send them back off to get the darkening part fixed and my husbands bifocal readjusted. He even said they would look into mine. Well, they came back, the sunglass part was corrected, My husband's bifocal part was corrected, but my pair, still couldn't see out of them at all. Too strong. So the tech said I needed another eye exam. This would be the 2nd and it was not any better then the 1st so as a result, when my glasses came back, still couldn't see out of them. Never saw Dr. E at that visit, just that same girl from the 1st exam. Again, I was told I needed another exam. I said not here I'm not. So I agreed to go to another location. so now we are at the 3rd exam, and it was a really good exam. This was with Dr. O. I was pleased. They called to say my glasses were in, not mentioning where, so I went to the new location to pick up and they were not there, they were at the 1st location across town. I was upset. Keep in mind, I'm having to leave work early for each one of these appointments, ect. When I got that pair back I could at least see out of the top part of the glasses, not the bifocal. By that time I requested a full refund. The office manager convinced me to come in one last time to meet with one of their top doctors to give me an exam and that they would reimburse me something for my glasses regardless, so I agreed. At first, a different young lady did my exam, and she was very good. Then, Dr. M comes in with two other doctors behind him, all three wearing scrub caps. Dr. M, looks into my eyes with some kind of light and then tells me he knows what my problem is. CATARACTS. Now, I'm not going to argue the fact that I might have cataracts to a degree, I'm at that age. This dr. was very full of himself, so much so, I couldn't get much of a word in edgewise, he was really not interested in what I had to say. He just kept shoving the cataract solution at me. I asked why wasn't this detected at my 1st three exams, and he said "Good thing I caught it." And I told him Dr. E said my prescription hadn't changed much. Dr. M told me there is no pair of glasses out there that I would be able to see with, I needed cataract surgery. Funny, I can see perfectly with my old pair, better then with my new pair by far and I only got new ones because they were running a special and I thought perfect time to get a spare set, ect. So I told him I wasn't doing the surgery and he got up and left the room. And the refund, that turned out to be half of what the glasses cost. No reimbursement for the whole experience, taking time off of work numerous times, gas money, all this taking place over a 4 month period, the aggravation of it all, and then to be told it's cataracts. Didn't even get an apology from that doctor. My husband and I had been going to them for years.....never had a problem. I've worn glasses for at least 53 years, I am now 61, so this isn't my 1st rodeo. But I can tell you this, I will never step foot in one of their centers again. My husband said I needed to call them AGAIN, since my glasses still aren't right and I can't wear them for very long because they make me nauseous and gives me headaches. I'm not. Now they have an excuse for my problem, Cataracts. I'm done with those people. They were a great place to go to at one time. Don't know what happened. I'm just going to mark this up as lesson learned and the next time I get glasses from whomever it may be. I won't pay for them until I get them. read more

Do not waste your time or money. If I could give a negative number it would be-5. Two separate years I have gone to this location. Both times I've had to wait hours to see the doctor and that's when I have an appointment. Evidently my time is worth nothing. When it comes to the Eye Center to make your glasses they never get the prescription right. I went back twice the first year to get it corrected. Twice again the second year to try to get it corrected. I now have a two pair of glasses that are worthless and I cannot use. Find another place to go to have your eyes checked and have your glasses made. This is a production center and they do not care about the patients time or how much of your money is wasted on their incompetence. read more

My son was sent there for blurry vision, dr brown did an exam and told him nothing was wrong with his eyes!! A total of 3 tests were done with little or no communication, and after two hours was told he could leave and a dr would call him within two day!! Totally unacceptable, coming from Boston I found this office to be slow , very unfriendly staff, and why would his eye dr tell him it was vert important to get in there in such a hurry if nothing was wrong with his eyes? Will not return there nor recommend to anyone , waste of time and money!!! Update !!!!!!!!!!!! A week later after three techs telling him the dr would call him, no one from Dr Browns office has called him, however after telling him nothing was wrong with his eyes, a separate Dr has called and stated he should be seen immediately! Read all reviews before having any surgery with this group. Had cataract surgery in December 2021. Had issues following surgery with both eyes. Was told my vision would improve with up graded lens. Had several post opt visits. Was told it would take time. Seeing double vision at distance. Never had this issue before. You would think the surgeon would want to see you! No, just techs and staff doctors. I finally changed doctors and had laser on both eyes to help correct. Still having issues. Was told most likely the wrong lens prescription were ordered for the replacement procedure. So now I'm told that glasses are my only answer. What a waste of time and money! Would be nice if you could trust people just to be honest. So be smart, get 2nd opinions, read reviews, and don't get in a hurry. There were other issues with the front desk personnel. I have the highest praise for ECOf in Ft. Myers. Dr. Mauer did my cataract surgery on both eyes and I am beyond thrilled with the results! He explained the procedure clearly to me and made me feel comfortable. All the staff members were professional and helpful. I will recommend ECOF to my family and friends. read more
