This one was gross. There was toilet paper strewn about the floor, and a note in the stall exhorting people to not flush it for "sanitary" reasons. There was a trash can provided for that purpose (gross!), but clearly there are many illiterates going up and down the highway. Even worse, there was a dead cockroach lying on the floor next to the toilet. I try not to look too closely at the floors in these places, but I had my little observant granddaughter with me who pointed out the offender. Kids! I almost wanted to be decontaminated after using that one! The only thing I'd stop here for is a box of Depends.

How can a place that serves food not have any soap in the washrooms? Ick. I got a few items, and thought that the clerk had rang up the total wrong. I thought I had gotten charged for multiple items I hadn't bought because the total was so high! Nope- that's just their high prices for ya. The gas pumps are incredibly tight. It's hard to get in there, and it blocks up traffic. This is a terribly conceived convenience store. It seems that the Kuntry Korner is a whole little racket with a greasy spoon truck stop diner and a hotel. Classy. I heard that this place used to be called "Kathy's Kuntry Korner" back in the day. KKK, classy. Why go so far out of your way to misspell the word, "country?" It seems that Valero gave the exterior of this gas station a face lift in recent history, with new pumps and signage, but the interior is still magnificently dirty and out of date. I was amused to see that they're prominently advertising their fax services at the gas station. What's a fax?! The worst part of this convenience store is that it's so dang difficult to get back on the freeway. Southbound traffic has to go way out of the way to get back on the freeway. Don't make the same mistake I made when stopping here, just keep going down the road to some of the more cleaner, friendlier-priced convenience stores.
