My only…read moreregret was not stopping at the one in MS, but I really wanted stop in Biloxi and get to New Orleans. I had also just stopped in Alabama and spent a fair amount of time at that Buc-ee's location. Baytown Buc-ees was a stop I made at about 3:30pm on 6/10/26 and I knew I was going to battle Houston traffic to get to Austin! I was able to purchase some nuts and snacks here and the store was consistent with other stores in the chain-- tons of food, super clean restrooms, mesmerizing merch, and plenty of gas pumps. Along with my love of Buc-ee's, I also have a ton of perks at Starbucks and was pleased to see that there was a store next to Buc-ee's. I was able to get a cold brew and be on my way in 30min. Fastest Buc-ee's/Starbucks stop on my trip! I guess it possible to do a quick stop at Buc-ee's, but before I left I saw a manager and asked her if this was the first Buc-ees and she said in a polite TX voice, "No sir, we are store #34" She also let me know that the first store was in Clute, TX. Knowledgeable staff!! Since I live near the first Chipotle I was curious. I didn't get to visit the 1st Buc-ee's store or the first In and Out Burger on this trip but there will be more. :) I did visit the first KFC and museum in Corbin KY! lol

When I discovered this, I went back into the store, the next day and explained to the cashier my predicament. She informed me that she could not take it back, couldn't give me a refund nor a replacement that was fresh. Talked to the manager and she told me the same. Now, I have since been informed that once you buy this type product, and walk out of the store with it, it's basically on YOU, the customer. And, since being educated, I understand the reasoning behind that. My issue is that when I went to return the item, it was NEVER explained by the cashier or the manager. I was told that they "had" signage stating that fact, but, there were NO signs posted ANYWHERE, because I requested to see the sign. I had no problem with the policy, after I learned about it, I was upset because nobody in that establishment EXPLAINED that policy to me (if they even knew it). Very poor customer service for sure!!! These employees need to be trained on this issue!!!

The store portion listed a Pizza Hut, Subway and Wing something or other. I cannot attest to the food providers, but the store was quite interesting. In the store were cowboy hats, imitation piston cartridge belts (think old west), blankets, signs warning of drunks and other weird items. The inside of the store is very large and their selection of drinks and snacks was a bit overwhelming. The bathrooms were just OK. While modern and nicely laid out, they weren't the cleanest. Service was adequate, but not overly friendly. I wouldn't go out of my way to stop here, however; it is an acceptable place to stop on the way back from Houston.

The inside is filled with just about any kind of novelty from refrigerator magnets to the latest trucker's apparel, its apparent that they cater to a broad cross section of the populist but the focus is definitely on the trucking industry.
