Just want to say this started as a 5-star review when this was just a Exxon Tigermarket. I loved this location, it was right around the corner to work and easy to get in and out of due to it's multiple exits off of the main Long Hollow road. The employees were of average demeaner as to be expected, I in no way expect someone working at a gas station to be happy go lucky all the time, I've worked in a gas station before, it's impossible.
I do, however, expect them to at the least do the bare minimum. This used to be the only Tigermarket that actually replaced their paper in the gas machines. This is no more, you have to go in, if you go in you are greeted with a very surly employee that tells you "This isn't my store, I don't know how to do that." and walks away. I understand going to a different store to work, but the machines all work the same. So I don't even bother to go in to get the receipt now if I get gas here.
I also ventured to this location on 07/11, because it is now a 07/11 and all locations were supposed to have something to celebrate 07/11's birthday. You'd be disappointed if you thought this location was gonna be in on that. Because they just taped a sign on the door and locked it. ALL DAY LONG. Do I believe the systems were down, maybe, if it had only been an hour or two. But no, this wasn't the first time this happened, it is a way to just close up and I'm surprise that the franchise or location owner has not noticed.
Now to my most recent experience on Tuesday 07/12/2022 at around 7p. First, of course, no tape, nope no tape EVER in the gas machines. Second as soon as I walked in I knew this wasn't going to be a good or even average experience. Nobody in the store, refrigerated merchandise all over the place getting warm. Nothing in the food rollers, nothing in the pastry boxes, and nothing cleaned up all day around the coffee or drink dispensers. Which may be standard for this location, it's not my store, I don't know. The hours list 11:59pm at the close time so I would assume food wouldn't be taken out of the rollers and such until much later, but again this isn't my store either so I don't know.
Ok, I can live with all of that, I was there for something simple, I just happened around the food section trying to get someone's attention. I needed scratch offs and mega millions ticket. I walked around the store twice and then stood at the register waiting for someone to come. The employee came from outside and what looked like around the side. What she was doing, I do not know, but it was not putting paper in the gas machines.
When I asked her for a pack of scratch offs she replied twice "This isn't my store, I don't know how to do that!" and started back at the door but something in her stopped and turned back around, possibly my face because all the stores are the same, this was not an extraordinary request. So I said ok, so I'll just take five quick picks on the Mega Millions. She strolled the long way around the store and when I say strolled, she took her time. Then once she finally made it behind the counter proceeded to print off all five on separate slips and said "$10 sound right?".
I get it, this wasn't her store, but the systems are not THAT unique from store to store. Although I never worked at this location, I did work at several across the United States, for the same company and others. All I'm asking for is at least the bare minimum, but I didn't even get that. I had to go across the street to the Mapco to get scratch-offs which I dislike because traffic makes it difficult to get in and out of there. There were more than enough employees in that location, too many in fact, and I did get my scratch-offs with very little hassle. read more
