Miller's Produce - Local Beer Selection

Miller's Produce

Good spot for gas as it's the first gas station over the border in SC. The price is usually…read moreanywhere from $0.20-$0.40 cheaper than NC. Depends on if there's been a hurricane or something recently really. It's a bit of a dump. It adjoins lots with an ABC store and the huge flea market that I'm also less than impressed with. The lot in general is fairly "bombed out". Watch for potholes and mounds of gravel when pulling in here. And since there's no median to speak of, watch for cars turning in and out from just about anywhere. Traffic in front also gets bad. The pumps are old and I avoid the place because I'm pretty sure it's a skimmer's paradise. Inside the store is shoddy and old. They have "beer on tap" according to their sign. A hodge-podge of sodas, candy-bars and everything else that looks in varying levels of age. "Produce" is a misnomer. If you can handle the extra 2-5 minute drive, pass Miller's and turn left at the light. All the way down this road at the next light you'll find a QT that's in SC. World's above this place in every possible way.

Gas for about .30-.40+ cheaper a gallon than Charlotte and a great beer selection…read more I pulled up on a Sunday, so I wasn't sure if I could buy beer or not, SC is weird. There were probably about 20 pumps to choose from so I'm sure this place stays busy, especially for how close to NC and how cheap the gas is. The inside of the store is half beer mart and then some other trinkets and gifts with a very small section for your basic gas station candy. Some produce, but it was out of season, assume that selection will grow. There is an ABC store next door and I guess thats about all I have to say about that.

The idea is to keep from food being wasted and thrown out that might otherwise expire or go bad before it's purchased. Ok fine. But I got three bags of snacks and two of the bags expired two months ago. Not expiring soon or even very recently expired but expired TWO MONTHS AGO. This means not only can I not eat what I paid for but these items were obviously sitting on their shelves for two months past their expiration dates. Unacceptable.

Probably the worst run convenience store I've encountered. The only saving grace is fantastic…read morecoffee. They have a neat machine that grinds the beans and immediately brews your coffee at the press of a button. It is rich and delicious, among the best coffee I've had. Here's the problem though. Rather than have half and half in packets, they have it in a dispenser. That would be fine, but of the four times I've been here for coffee, twice it has been empty. I top of that, I had to wait in a slow line of 10+ customers to check out. Once I was told by the counter employee that she couldn't fill it because she was the only one working there. Another time I was told they knew it was out, but they had to "order more". Really???? You sell coffee and you can't provide cream? They have plenty of sugary, soybean oil based "creamers", but no thanks on that. Whoever owns the patent for those coffee machines, please sell to others...

7-Eleven - Only 69 cents for large Sprite

My boss said there's not many 7 elevens in this area. I assume he doesn't have the Yelp app because…read moreI found several 7 Elevens in the area. The best deal I found here is that they sell large fountain drinks for only 69 cents. I first found fountain drinks for only $1 at McDonalds. I thought that was a good deal. Then I found them at Quick Trip for only 99 cents. Then I found them at another convenient store for only 79 cents. It seems there is a fountain drink price war going on in this area which is good for consumers. Cashier was slow and distracted by co worker. As a result, he ignored me for quiet some time. He also gave me wrong answers on prices for some reason. One tip: The prices on the fountain drink machine are wrong. It has a sale sign up on top advertising 69 cents.

He Proceeds to pick the Cash up frustrated and says to me " question you throw your money down on the counter and put your hand out expecting me to hand it back how does that make sense ? He then ignores me as I start to apologize which wasn't necessary on my part but felt it necessary because of he's demeanor he then throws my money on the counter and just gets back on the phone. This kind of customer service is uncalled and management needs to be more present for associates like that. Go to qt across the street and get treated with respect
