She left feeling singled out, embarrassed, and humiliated over a routine purchase. What makes this even more concerning is that we've heard from others who claim this isn't an isolated incident and that people of color are being asked for identification and ID scans in situations where other customers are not. If that's true, it's deeply troubling and raises serious concerns about racial profiling. Whether this was the result of poor training or intentional conduct, no customer should ever feel targeted because of the color of their skin. Businesses have a responsibility to treat every customer with fairness and respect. I sincerely hope corporate investigates this location, reviews the surveillance footage and employee conduct, and takes appropriate action if these concerns are substantiated. This gas station gave small Buc ees vibes. I went in to use the restroom and came out twenty minutes later with snacks, random things, and a drink I could not pronounce. They even sell fresh farm milk and local drinks! If every pit stop was like this, I would never make it home on time.
