Over these years it has been extensively refurbished, but technically remains the same in that it is a night club. The building has been extended - was originally only one floor but has now extended upwards into the next building and is therefore on two floors. There are toilets, bars, seating and a dance area on both floors. The building can be hired for private parties (which is fairly normal with this type of club these days). There are also special early entry offers on certain nights as well as drinks offers (prices, types and so on). There are age restrictions and ID is checked. There are cloakroom facilities but these are for a fee. There is a large car park at the rear of the building and a kebab shop and chicken and chips shop just outside (handy for after a few drinks). The local railway station is just nearby and there is a taxi rank located there.

A grimy, run down building with a lackluster interior and a floor that your feet will stick to all night long. But don't let that put you off! During the week it is used as a music venue and although you'll never see the likes of Oasis play there, it does attract great up and coming bands. It also offers local bands a chance to showcase their talent with nights organised by local promoters. At the weekends the venue is used as a club that generally caters for the 'alternative' Norwich scene. Friday nights tend to alternate each week between 80's and 90's theme, which may sound cheesy but the DJ's actually play decent music from those decades. It is nothing like your typical Flares or Reflex nightclubs. Every Saturday in the main room downstairs is a club night called Meltdown, which tends to play alternative music catering for the indie/emo/punk/rock/dance genres. Up stairs there are two rooms. One is a small café bar, which is great to as a chill out area as there are plenty of tables and chairs located around. The other room is larger which has a different set of DJ's each week will be a different themed night. Anything from New Electro to Britpop to Heavy Metal or Rap. There's rarely any trouble in The Waterfront and you'll always make a new friend each time you go there. Overall, it's a great night out with a quality friendly atmosphere!

Despite the dated look and the sticky floor this is probably the best place to catch bands on their…read moreway up. With a capacity of about 750 it feels intimate even when full. Bar is not too pricey, possibly due to catering to a student crowd. Check what is on and give it a go.

Nice squishy sofas but even better, get up to the the roof garden as the sun comes up - genius. As others have said, security very friendly and absolutely no aggro in the club. The good thing about this place is they don't charge you for cover (well at least when I went) and dress codes aren't strict (I guess cuz they assume everyone in Europe has a good sense of style). Last I was here my friends and I got there early enough to get a booth and ordered ourselves drinks before we hit the dancefloor. But while there, I accidentally bumped into some lady smoking where then she told me to "WOTCH IT!" Also, there seemed to be more guys and girls. You know what that means (I'll let that simmer for a bit). I also couldn't really enjoy their music, not because I didn't like it but moreso because I couldn't get used to it. But everyone around me seemed to enjoy it, what with it being stuff from the U.S. and other countries. The crowd there was very diverse too, especially both young and old. Mostly old. Overall, if I was back in the area I would comeback just to party here one more time. I know there aren't that many clubs/ night spots in Cambridge but the Fez is a good club to check out if you're in the area.

For the taller person this place is a little cramped but I'm used to that now but it can be a hit hairy after afew and you forget to duck. Also the coat check is a joke, there is no real queue and it's basically just a free for all to get your coat in or out ad this means it drops a star as a good coat check is the mark of a good club. All in all it's not a bad night out, especially seeing as cambridge has little else to it's name.
