Said my tractor would take a week, it took 3. Called 3 times to see about it, kept getting "we'll…read morecall you in a couple days." I get it, it's summer, and they are busy. However, here's where the fun starts. Asked on the 3rd call "what's the estimate on it?" Their reply, "I don't have an estimate." Don't have an estimate?! You know the time/parts involved, why not share it with your customer? Should have known right there. Got a call 2 days later that it was done. Went to pick it up to a $700+ bill! Initially, my problem was a drive belt. So, figured Id get service done as well. Initial quote was "$130 for belt, $130 for service, maybe if the pulleys need done." Paid not only $139 for service but also $295 Work Performed for drive belt I'm assuming, PLUS every part, a light (I don't use,) GREASE, filter, oil, blades/blades sharpened , AND another deck belt (which I changed less than a year ago.) None of which I asked for. No wonder Bill didn't quote me. Totally sticker shocked as I was expecting perhaps a $300-400 bill, $500 TOPS with maybe the pulleys, but they hid the cost from me until I picked it up. Ron the employee service guy was good and I gave him a lot of misdirected grief, for that I apologized, but I know businesses that operate like this and am usually good a spotting them, got BURNT. Never again.

When I went to go pay the bill, the lady who was checking me out to pay got really nasty towards me. When I asked about certain charges, She started cussing at me told me quote "you don't know what we do so don't tell us how to run our business." Then told me to "F" off. I will not be going back there ever again. Horrible people! horrible business!

We ended up taking it to a guy we found on Facebook called Milich Small equipment repair in new Alexandria. He had it running and working for less than $20. We ended up giving him $100 tip because he wouldn't take anything for service. I do not recommend Fletcher. There are a bunch of crooks and they don't know what they're doing. The only reason we ever went to them was because they did one of our push mowers. And they told us that it was fixed they had to put a new carburetor on. Which somehow cost more than a lawnmower. So if you need repairs done, I will go to milich small equipment repair. he charges a flat rate of $50 for a service or less if it's something small. Any charges you when he get charged for the park. So if the park cost $20 to him he charged you $20 nothing extra like Fletcher. The carburetor that they put on our lawnmower, ended up dying like two years later. When Dan put on the new carburetor on our push mower, it cost the same amount. And he told us that it was a Chinese version that they put on that's why I didn't last that long but they charged us $300 for the carburetor.

The 'warranty' repair shop that Greenworks first referred me to told me it'd be three weeks before they could even look at the mower. Well, that's not going to work when the lawn is already starting to look like some kind of a wild nature diorama. Enter Steel City Mower & Plow. These guys knew right away what my mower's problem was, they got me in right away, fixed it right away, and were even able to take care of all of the repairs as covered under warranty. They're friendly and easy to talk to. Very happy! Pro tip: When you come in from Library Road, go down the driveway in between the buildings; they're in the back on the lower level.

A week later I call back, they tell me they "just" received my part and they could fix it. No apologies, and no reasons why no one ever contacted me. Told them I would just pick up my item and take it elsewhere, Bill tells me "but I just told you we have your part". Also tells me when I tell him it's ridiculous I didn't hear from anyone in over a month "I agree to disagree". They look like you do plenty of business, so taking my business elsewhere won't really affect them, but I just couldn't give them my business. There's a ton of competition out there, I'd suggest finding elsewhere to go.
