So our tractor wouldn't start. So we took it to Fletcher's and they told us it was beyond fixing…read moreand they would buy it from us for $50. Or they can fix it for $1200. We ended up taking it to a guy we found on Facebook called Milich Small equipment repair in new Alexandria. He had it running and working for less than $20. We ended up giving him $100 tip because he wouldn't take anything for service. I do not recommend Fletcher. There are a bunch of crooks and they don't know what they're doing. The only reason we ever went to them was because they did one of our push mowers. And they told us that it was fixed they had to put a new carburetor on. Which somehow cost more than a lawnmower. So if you need repairs done, I will go to milich small equipment repair. he charges a flat rate of $50 for a service or less if it's something small. Any charges you when he get charged for the park. So if the park cost $20 to him he charged you $20 nothing extra like Fletcher. The carburetor that they put on our lawnmower, ended up dying like two years later. When Dan put on the new carburetor on our push mower, it cost the same amount. And he told us that it was a Chinese version that they put on that's why I didn't last that long but they charged us $300 for the carburetor.

If you are calling JJ, check your ego at the door…read more JJ thinks you are an idiot. You don't take care of your tools. He thinks you put crappy gas in your mower. He knows you didn't run the tank to full empty before storing for the winter. Your grass is too high and when you pick it up, later you're going to cut it on low and kill the grass and your motor. That even assumes you pick it up; he bets you will never show up again and he'll just spend time and labor and have to scrap the mower two years later. He thinks your weed wacker is a piece of crap. And he's probably right. I know because his garage is full of mowers and weed wackers. And they all suffer from this lack of caring for your tools. But you should go to JJ because he will fix your mower, clean it and make it like new, do it quickly, and charge you next to nothing. And JJ is a cool guy. You will consider breaking your mower again just so you can listen to JJ complain about his customers. Thank you, JJ.

The 'warranty' repair shop that Greenworks first referred me to told me it'd be three weeks before they could even look at the mower. Well, that's not going to work when the lawn is already starting to look like some kind of a wild nature diorama. Enter Steel City Mower & Plow. These guys knew right away what my mower's problem was, they got me in right away, fixed it right away, and were even able to take care of all of the repairs as covered under warranty. They're friendly and easy to talk to. Very happy! Pro tip: When you come in from Library Road, go down the driveway in between the buildings; they're in the back on the lower level.

I was told Brian would call me back. A week later I call back, they tell me they "just" received my part and they could fix it. No apologies, and no reasons why no one ever contacted me. Told them I would just pick up my item and take it elsewhere, Bill tells me "but I just told you we have your part". Also tells me when I tell him it's ridiculous I didn't hear from anyone in over a month "I agree to disagree". They look like you do plenty of business, so taking my business elsewhere won't really affect them, but I just couldn't give them my business. There's a ton of competition out there, I'd suggest finding elsewhere to go.

Any business can stock their shelves with endless merchandise, but very few can back up their products and services with the level of knowledge and dedicated service found underneath this roof. Its usually my go- to for screen repairs and replacement. Other services include key- making, glass cutting, equipment rentals, small engine repair and so on. This family owned business is an asset to the community and a refreshing alternative to chain box stores. Consistent staff and consistent service is obviously key to their longevity.

They also offer a few more services that range from propane and kerosene fill ups, fencing estimates and bids, small engine repair shop, and pellet stove sales, service, and parts. The Stihl selection is great, too. Definitely would recommend to anyone who has questions about their home or equipment. A great local hardware store for people in the Youngwood, New Stanton, Ruffsdale, and Mt. Pleasant area.
