When I first arrived at Dr. Aguil's office, I was in urgent need of serious dental work (part of which was correcting the work of a previous dentist office I went to on a Groupon). He did such an amazing job that I finally purchased dental insurance with the sole intent of making him my forever dentist. Ten years later, it's unquestionably one of the best things I've done for my overall health. A few highlights: * There's a reason why everyone praises Nancy, the receptionist. She's the GOAT who instantly makes you feel at home. * Every dental hygienist I've ever had has been a world-class all-star. * Dr. Aguil is incredibly skillful. In those early days, I was in his chair A LOT and there were several instances in which I fell asleep. He has never tried to hard sell me on anything. He is a man of his word and he has always treated me with the utmost kindness and generosity. Complete strangers have given me compliments on my teeth and smile, and I quickly give Dr. Aguil a shoutout. I don't often do Yelp reviews, it's generally only when I'm really happy, or really upset with an experience I've had. This is the latter. The office is decorated nicely. Okay. But that's the only positive I had with this experience. The dentist was VERY PUSHY for me to get sedation, even though I was totally clear I wasn't interested in that. I do have a gag reflex, but during his examination (however brief) I didn't have any issues with it, so I'm not sure why he kept telling me he couldn't work on my teeth without full sedation. He kept telling me I would be a problem, even though he had no reason to think that! He then asked me if I knew what an isodry was. I said no. He then told me I would have to tolerate the isodry, since he won't work on anyone without one and he was sure I couldn't tolerate it. He asked his assistant to get a MEDIUM sized (even though I have such a small mouth most dentists use child size xrays on me!) isodry so he could prove to me that I would be a problem. He then started cramming it in my mouth until my jaw felt like it was going to break and I was starting to gag. Well, WTH!? He was rude and accusatory in his delivery. Nevermind the cute little isodry demonstration. So, after telling him countless times I would not allow sedation and quickly stopping his isodry demonstration, he told me there was nothing he could do for me. So, suffice to say I was in full agreeance was him at this point that this wouldn't work out! I've been to a few dentists in my day and have NEVER been treated this way OR turned away like this. When I was leaving I asked the woman up front to please give me my xrays since I had to go somewhere else. She said she would send them right away, but several days later I realized she never did and had to call and request them. One of the reasons I went there was because they said they would do the CT scan for me, rather than the bite wing xrays. I have TMJ issues as well, so I wanted an updated 3D view of my jaw. I stood in that little machine while it spun around me many times and the tech was running back and forth doing all sorts of stuff with the machine and computer. So, I thought I was getting a great full set of xrays. When I've done this same type of xray at other dentists I get a file that allows full rotational viewing of all teeth and the jaw. However, once she sent my "xrays" it was just ONE basic pano view of my teeth. So, I called. The office manager argued with me for several minutes repeating over and again that I signed a piece of paper that said PANO. I told her I didn't know that didn't mean the full CT 3D xrays. Because when I made the appointment, I specifically asked for the full CT and was told that's what they would do. So, I drove to a cruddy part of L.A., paid for expensive parking and paid the dentist several hundred dollars for a rude rejection and a single xray. My recommendation - GO BASICALLY ANYWHERE ELSE if you want a legitimate dentist. Had my root canal done at this place. I don't recommend. Treatment plans were never explained, crown options were not provided. Treatment plans were asked to be signed when laying in dentists chair. Any other legal forms or signatures were also offered right before the service after I laid down. When I asked if I could choose crown materials, I was told there is no other options besides Zirconia. I was double charged for a single crown. They also tried to push for deep cleaning before any treatment. My husband has a tooth that bothers him, he would like to go through the treatment, but was told that is not possible because deep cleaning needs to be done first. I had a similar experience, I had a painful tooth that needs root canal, they strategically set up an appointment for deep cleaning before the root canal treatment. During deep cleaning, the hygienist broke the fillings on the one tooth that needs root canal "accidentally ", for the following week after deep cleaning, I was in pain. For billing, the invoice doesn't look correct and I asked the front desk if she can explain to me. She said she doesn't know, that's how the computer calculates automatically. One star is for the clean office and the other star for the nurse assistant. read more

Dr. Aguil and his staff were very accommodating during my visits. I had a regular clean in November 2021 and with his inspection, he mentioned that I had several cavities to take care of before it gets worse. I received a quote for the removal of my cavities in 2021 but decided to proceed with the procedure in October 2022. It was convenient that they still had my quote and patient info on file and I was able to set up my appointment instantly. They also accepted my dental insurance which was a relief as well. Before going to Exquisite Dentistry, I went to other questionable clinics where I felt scared and uncomfortable. Their clinic is clean and up to date with all new technology and equipment. You're able to watch shows on Netflix while getting your cavities removed and they offer hot towels after the treatment! Their service is exceptional. I was also able to see the before and after photos of my teeth which was very fascinating. If I prolonged the care, the decay could've reached the nerve and I would've had to have a root canal. Dr. Aguil's work was seamless and beautifully done. Parking might be difficult if you don't want to pay $3 every 15 minutes from the lot next to the clinic. Alternatively, you can park in the structure next to the parking lot where 2 hours are free if you get your ticket validated at one of the restaurants. I was able to find street parking 1-2 blocks down (watch out for street signs if you don't want to get ticketed or towed). read more

I've been looking for a new dentist and received a call today from Nancy and as soon as I pick up she says "let me call you back" then hangs up on me.... Keep in mind I have no clue who this is yet. Then she eventually calls me back and asks what my name is? You should know my name because you called and hung up on me. I asked her who this was because I was pretty sure it was a spam call and she says she's calling from Exquisite Dentistry and asks what my name is.... Don't go to this office!!! I went to this office for years. I wanted a denture for the upper teeth, but Dr. Aguile said he wouldn't do it, but would suggest someone who would. At the same time he convinced me that using crowns and partial dentures would be a better fit and alleviate denture slippage. I trusted his judgement, even tho it was going to cost me much more. I retired and lost my dental insurance, but all the work was done... so I thought. As my crowns started to break off, I went back and for the low low price of $6000 he would build a bridge. While discussing the cost with Nancy Lee, she was almost happy to hand me a huge bill for the work to be done. I was shocked and at this time told her I would get a second opinion. I got a second opinion. The front crowns both broke off because the teeth they were attached to were disintegrated .... including the teeth he was going to fashion the bridge to. I paid for porcelain crowns for the front teeth. Once they broke off, one was porcelain and the other was metal covered with porcelain... a huge difference in price. I feel very betrayed, as Dr. Aguile claims to be a friend of LGBTQ+ and HIV+ community. He talks softly and offers a payment plan, but the front desk has different ideas about that. I am now having all his work on the top extracted and being fit for dentures, while still paying off the last $3000 for 2 crowns that have to be redone. Dr. Aguil is hands down the best dentist I've ever been to. Him and his whole team are very nice and make you feel welcomed and comfortable. The technology he uses seems pretty advanced and his expert skills provide for a smooth experience. Before my first visit with Dr. Aguil I hadn't been to the dentist in about 6 years. (Don't tell my mom..) During my first visit he said I had a few cavities and schedule me to get them removed and filled in the very next day. The whole procedure was a lot faster than I thought and completely painless. After the procedure he gave me this dental tonic. I checked online to see how much it would cost on Amazon and I was surprised to find out that it was actually more expensive to buy it online than what I paid after my visit. It's nice to know that the team genuinely seems to care about your overall health and not try to overcharge you. Came back a few months later to get some of my wisdom teeth removed and I was in and out in less than an hour. They gave me very clear instructions on how to take care of the open sockets and even scheduled a follow up the next week at no cost. After chipping off some previous crown work on my two front teeth (careful, chicken wings can be dangerous!), a coworker suggested I give Dr. Aguil a call. I spoke with the doctor and explained the situation and was able to get an appointment the very next day (awesome) given the situation (my teeth being totally jacked up). The Doc walked me through all my options and we settled on Zirconia veneer restoration. I had replaced the prior crown work 2 times already (active lifestyle, I guess), so I decided to get 2 partial veneers for a more permanent fix. The Zirconia option is a little more pricey than normal porcelain veneers but in my opinion are totally worth it. Why settle for a Toyota Camry in your mouth when you could have a Lamborghini? Dr. Aguil is such a perfectionist: not only was he was able to give me beautiful veneers, but was able to add 1-2 mm of thickness to them to help straighten/align my teeth. (I added a "before and after" photo to my review.) The Doc was amazingly professional, highly knowledgeable and had perhaps the best "bedside manner" of any doctor I've experienced (which is not what one normally associates with a dentist). You could tell he really took pride in his work. As a result, he made me feel like I was his #1 patient. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my new teeth and have since recommended Dr. Aquil to several friends and coworkers. Bonus: His office is super clean & modern, plus every dentist chair has a drop-down monitor with a streaming Netflix subscription! Dr. Aguil came up with a considerate treatment plan that, over the years of general cleanings, necessary fillings and one Invisalign corrective treatment, has improved my gum health AND my appearance. Nancy Lee in the front office knows her stuff and will help you navigate insurance. With my gum recession now in check, today I had bonding applied on a few sensitive teeth. This dentist is absolutely the best dentist in LA, period. The prices are completely reasonable for what they do, and while they offer you options (want straighter teeth? They can set you up. Interested in whitening? They have a couple ways to get your teeth sparkling), there is absolutely no pressure to do something extra you don't want. And when you do get something done- like replacing your root canal-ed teeth with caps, they work with you until it looks perfect. Dr. Alexie is IT! Plus, this office has more Covid safety measures in place than I could conceive of before I got there. Let me preface this review by saying that I have SEVERE dental anxiety, to the point of avoiding the dentist for over 10 years. Yeah, I know. I had a very bad experience with my last dentist that kept me from ever going back. I kept putting it off until my teeth became increasingly more and more sensitive and then I decided to make a 2018 resolution to get myself to the dentist. This is where Dr. Aguil and his amazing team come in! From the very first call I made to their office, I was put at ease. The office had a very zen vibe and was relaxing. From start to finish, they took the VERY best care of me. I made them all aware of my anxiety and they took every measure to make sure I felt comfortable. My first cleaning after a decade was completely pain free, the hygienist was gentle and communicated every step of the process. She recommended some fantastic products that I ended up purchasing (including a fancy tooth brush and all natural essential oils mouth wash), which I will continue to use twice a day, every day, FOREVER. She also reintroduced me to proper flossing, which I've also committed to as a part of my 2018 dental rebirth. After my cleaning (piece of cake), I moved on to the x-rays/photos portion of my visit. Another incredibly friendly and warm staff member guided me through the process. After my x-rays were complete, I was introduced to Dr. Aguil. From first introduction, I knew I was in good hands. He reviewed the condition of my teeth and I was pretty horrified to hear that I had a couple cavities and some tooth decay due to old metal fillings. My cavities would need be filled and my fillings would need to be replaced, a roughly 4-hour procedure. PEAK ANXIETY! I scheduled my next appointment and they were able to accommodate me the following day because I wanted to get it over with ASAP. I left the office feeling reassured that I had found the right dentist who understood my needs and would take care of me. The staff was prepared for me the next day, they were all very aware I was fearful and nervous, and took every possible measure to comfort me. From the comfy blanket, to the essential oils, to Netflix on the TV, I was definitely relaxed... the sedatives they offered helped too :-) I could not believe that I was awake and aware throughout the entire procedure and felt absolutely zero pain. Not a thing! Dr. Aguil and his assistant continuously checked on me to make sure I was ok... I was totally ok. For me, this was a big deal accomplishment. I finally went to the dentist and had a FANTASTIC experience. I'm now cavity-free and feel as though I have the chance to start-over in terms of my dental habits. I'm now smiling with my teeth more. I can't thank Dr. Aguil and his team enough... they all were so incredibly professional and caring. I left the office that day wanting to go have a drink with the whole team! Best and most informative dental experience I have had. I was super impressed with the technology they use here. Dr Aguil did a complete review of my mouth with digital cameras that show up on an LCD screen in front of you. He points out any imperfections while letting you see them on the screen. A special green light camera is used to detect cavities as the show up a different color than the rest of the tooth. I had to have scaling and root planing done (deep cleaning). Dr. Aguil thoroughly explained the procedure and answered all my questions. I was concerned about the pain but with the numbing medication he used I didn't feel a thing and barely felt the needle that delivered the medication. They'll also give you some medicine to relax if you're the anxious type. They have Netflix on the LCD screen in front of you and give you a wireless pointer mouse to pick what you want to watch. This helped the time go by fast and drowned out some of the noise of the instruments. The entire staff is extremely friendly and professional. They will go over your insurance coverage with you and show/explain what and how much is covered. Also they are open on Saturdays!! which is almost unheard of but extremely helpful for me not to have to take time off work to see the dentist. read more

I've visited Exquisite Dentistry twice now, once for a cleaning and once to have my wisdom teeth removed. But before I get ahead of myself, a few preliminary thoughts. -The office is beautiful, contemporary, and extremely enjoyable. My little sister, who accompanied me on the visit, commented, "Wow, this place is great. Can I stay?" I mean what kind of kid wants to stay in a dentist's office? -The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and constantly makes sure you are enjoying yourself. -Doctor Alexie is just the friendliest, most fun dentist I've ever met. But past that, he's extremely knowledgeable, up on all of the latest technology and practices, and just a wonderful dentist. --The cleaning went extremely well, the receptionist handled all of my insurance paperwork for me, and my teeth were cleaned and good to go in roughly 15 minutes! --The wisdom teeth removal was fantastic, an essentially pain-free experience that I was dreading before I went in but it turned out to be not that big of a deal. In the doctor's capable hands I was more than good-to-go and my friends + family have been marveling at how little swelling there is, how fast I'm healing, etc. All that to say I've found my new permanent dentist. I'll go to Dr. Alexie for all my dental needs and I'd trust his recommendations / referrals for any other needs implicitly. read more

Dr. Aguil and his team made me feel so comfortable and at ease. He is truly kind and knowledgable. For the first time I felt like I could have an honest discussion with my dentist. By my second visit I was looking forward to walking through the doors to see their familiar faces. Vernetta is super helpful and always willing to explain costs/payment plans in detail. Dr. Aguil is simply the best. I've finally completed my dental treatment plan including full top set porcelain veneers. Dr Aguil was beyond helpful during the entire process and the results are absolutely stunning! It's a whole new beginning and I am forever thankful! When walking in to the office, you wonder if you may have the wrong address. Is this a high-end spa? Gorgeous from the finshes to the furniture to the art. Top notch. The staff is ulitimately the most friendly in the business. Dr. Aguil and team put you at ease and create a calm and relaxed environment. Care to watch tv or a movie, no problem. Lean back and watch it on a large wall-mounted screen. Care to listen to some music, no problem, slip on some headphones and slip away. Dr. Aguil has the most wonderful presence that can melt away any tension simply with a smile and reassuring conversation. All the equipment and finish is the best of the best. Sit back and relax on what they call the 'Bently of Dental Chairs'. No penny spared on the office to give you the best service and the best experience. So as a general rule going to the dentist is a horrifying experience. Not fun, not comfortable, the last thing you want to do..... Well Dr. Aguil has completely changed the way I view the dentist! I went to him today (was able to make a same day appointment) suffering extreme pain in my right lower molar. The ladies at the front desk are extremely helpful and welcoming, everyone greeted me with a huge smile. The office is immaculately decorated and outfitted with what I assume is the latest in dental technology because it all look super spiffy lol. Dr. Aguil consulted with me before starting anything and made went over the xrays with me and made sure I understood everything that he needed to do. Dr. Aguil and his assistant Tommy made sure I was completely comfortable throughout the whole procedure. Oh and get this.... you can watch netflix while you get worked on!! The mind numbing drill is by far the worst thing about dental experiences and having something to drown out the noise and distract you definitely helps the time go faster!! I've never had such an amazing experience with a dentist as I had on my first visit with Dr. Aguil last week. Not only did my teeth feel amazing after having the pleasure of experiencing a cleaning with Dr. Aguil, but my overall experience was unmatchable. I was greeted upon entering the office by Isabelle and Allison who were incredibly welcoming. After my paperwork was completed, Jessica brought me to the back where I was offered a beverage and she took photos and x-rays of my teeth. She was kind, helpful, and informative. When the photos and x-rays were done, she set me up with a Netflix movie to watch! I was so impressed. When the doctor came in, he was was thorough in explaining my treatment and their office's cleaning procedure. When the cleaning began, I was able to watch the Netflix movie above me as they did my cleaning! Sincerely, I did not feel any discomfort the entire cleaning, which is something I've never experienced before. Although I had headphones on and was watching the movie, Jessica and Dr. Aguil were sure to keep checking with me that I was not in any pain or discomfort. After the cleaning, they used a type of high-pressured salt technology that made my teeth feel more smooth than they've literally ever felt for as long as I can remember! I bought the high grade mouth wash that Dr. Aguil recommended and walked out smiling prouder than I had in a long time. read more

I really didn't think it was possible to enjoy going to the dentist. Someone recommended Dr Aguil to me and now i know why. It really does look like a spa when you walk in. The receptionist and assistant were both super friendly and accommodating. They even filled the meter for me while i was in the chair. The doc himself was really straight forward and I felt immediately comfortable. Maybe my previous dentists were not that great, but Dr. Aguil took the time to show me in detail what was going on with my teeth. I kicked back, watched a movie, and before I knew it I was all done. I seriously loved going there. I just moved to LA from Chicago recently and I definitely know who my new dentist is. read more
