Long story short, in a matter of 7 days, I dropped a buttload (sorry, US slang here) of pounds for black taxi cabs due to a lost key to a flat and lots of luggage. With a flight to the United States looming, I was referred to ExpressWays by a colleague as an inexpensive way to Heathrow (I had 209 pounds = 95 kg of luggage!). I was a bit worried since I never took a minicab before, and a friend of mine missed her flight back to the US from Gatwick because another minicab company failed to show up. 8 am, Saturday morning, I get a text stating that my minicab is here, and he's actually here! And being a silly American that I am (I tipped 20% on my black cab from Heathrow to central London), I intentionally tipped him as I was grateful for his services in helping me with my luggage. Trip from Southbank cost me roughly £42 before tip, which saved me at least £20 if I used the black cabs. Wonderful service, and I will be definitely using them in the future! read more

I love this mini-cab service because they are CHEAP. I've tried other services and these people undercut everyone else. They also give you the quote upfront so no haggling. I've found them highly reliable (although my flatmate had an issue one time). The cars are not that nice (my flatmate likes an Audi or Mercedes to pick him up) and I am fine in anything with 4 wheels as long as it is CHEAP. Would rather spend my £s on food and drink.....Call t imes aren't long and I think you can also book online. read more

I have used Expressways on several occasions and never been disappointed. They arrive on time, send you a text to verify arrival and are very affordable. I was taking the Heathrow Express to get to the Airport, but if I have a flight when traffic is not a concern, using ExpressWays is so much better and cheaper! read more

Just got back from our annual European Vacation I decide through difficult email communication to try a different company then usual. I have to say this company and it's employees are the best and I would recommend them to everyone. Price, service and knowing how to navigate around busy streets was great! Terrifying people. Just booking the taxi the man was so rude and aggressive. Would not let me speak to a manager and would not tell me the price. Expressways really should consider who they have greeting their customers on the phone. I would never book with them again. I work with students and I encourage them to miss out Expressways. If you are going to pay for a taxi better to do it right then be treated like rubbish. read more

I had the most appaling experience with Express Way tonight. I called to book a cab for some friends who do not speak English and need to go to the airport tomorrow. The lines were busy and the man who answered my call was clearly impatient and nervous. He did not leave me time to answer his questions and pressed me in a very impolite way. When I told him that he was being rude and had to raise my voice to make myself heard over his own voice, he shouted that I should not shout to him. My friends, wo were there, were shocked just by the tone of his voice. I had to end the call. The sad thing is that we have been their clients for 3 years. Never again. read more

NEVER use this company. The last FOUR times I have tried to book a taxi with them they have agreed a time then cancelled within 30 minutes of the booking or, worse, after the time of the booking. Their customer services skills are awful and they are quite frankly rude. They have made me late for some very important events and I will NEVER use them again. I have been using ExpressWays for about 2 years now. Always been happy about their services. Unfortunately yesterday travelling with my luggage I found myself so far from my destination. A driver who was wrongly informed by his office was trying to contact a dispatcher. A dispatcher John was so rude, he even did not want to keep conversation. No apologies, no compensation. He asked a driver to go to police station to clarify the situation. To say that I was upset it means to say nothing. Also I was 1 hour late and lost a train. I am really sorry to have to only give 2 stars. I had good communication through email with the company and had high hopes. We had a large group (12), and the price was very reasonable. The pickup at Heathrow and delivery to our London hotel was perfect. The pickup at the London hotel and delivery to our Newbury hotel was perfect. We had scheduled a 7:30 pickup to take us from Newbury to Heathrow. The first car arrived at 8:00. I hadn't panicked because I had allowed plenty of time. When I asked about the other 2 cars, the driver said they were told the pickup was at 8:30. Now I was worried. I showed him the email that said 7:30. He said he didn't know what happened, only that the "office" said the time was 8:30. I got in the 1st car and planned to text the remaining party while on the way to the airport. The 2nd car arrived about 8:40 and said the 3rd car was 5 minutes behind him. I was feeling okay about it. But at 9:00 my sister texted me and said the 3rd car was not there. I got on the phone with the company and they said he was on the way. At 9:10 he still was not there. I told my sister to call a cab at 9:15 if he didn't get there. I was on the phone again with the company when the driver finally got there about 9:20. No apology or explanation. I was at Heathrow kind of sick to my stomach waiting to see if they would make it since it took our car an hour and 45 minutes. The third car pulled in about 10:30, which was enough time to make our flight. However, the stress and anxiety caused by them not being on time, and not offering any apology or explanation, was too great to just let it go. I chose this company because of the good reviews. But I just cannot give one because of the last trip. That was just too stressful. And no offer of apology or compensation for the worry. Not a good way to do business. read more

Amazing company. I arrived in London today to study abroad for the semester with three other people, and we each had three bags. I booked the car on their website, which was temperamental at times, but it eventually worked. We used the Transporter car, which cost $120 after fees, which is the cheapest company BY FAR in the area. Our flight was delayed an hour and the driver waited for us to meet him, helped load all the bags into the car, and drove us 45 minutes to our destination. The car was nice and appeared relatively new and the driver was professional. I would recommend this company to anyone! read more

This company has forgotten to pick me up on a Monday morning, at 7am and because of their lack of professionalism, I have missed my flight and this had consequences financially to me but also to the company I work for since I have missed meetings. I had to change my flight and paid a fee of £190 to BA. I have been in contact with the Expressways for over three weeks and no one bothers to return my emails or my calls. Unless I call them, I receive no reply. I sent them all necessary information and have not received any update on the status of my situation. I hope by going public with my story they will do something about it. It is very disappointing as they are not accountable for what happened. read more

No stars!!! I am absolutely furious and disgusted with this company. My 18 year old daughter - alone in London for the first time - booked a taxi for 8.30 to take her to an important audition for 9.30. The journey should have taken no more that 10 minutes but she wanted to arrive calm and relaxed. Instead she spent almost 30 minutes waiting for the taxi which arrived around 4 minutes to 9. No apology was offered and the driver shrugged his shoulders when the hotel receptionist who was with my daughter said that he was late. Near the destination, the driver asked my daughter for directions, which stressed her even further as she had been expecting a London taxi driver to know where he was going. They got there eventually and just on time, however instead of being calm and relaxed she was extremely stressed. I phoned the company and a very polite girl apologised profusely. That was fine, but the damage was done. I am often in London and have never experienced taxi service like this. I would never ever use this company again and I would suggest potential customers think carefully before using them if they have an important deadline to meet. This was a big deal to an inexperienced teenage girl on her own and this taxi company caused huge and unnecessary distress. read more
