I booked a car with Meadway in early November 2023 to take myself and my wife from Hampstead Garden Suburb to Heathrow. At the same time, I booked a car to collect us from Heathrow on our return. The fares were confirmed at the time. Texts were sent at time of booking confirming the details of each trip. 30 minutes or so prior to each trip, I receive text confirmation that the driver was on his way, and for both trips the driver was there by the confirmed time. In both cases, the driver was courteous, and the journey went smoothly. That's all I need from a taxi company. I also used Meadway in October 2022, and again the experience was good. read more

Terrible service from meadway! Ordered a cab a few days in advance of a pick up from Heathrow. When the driver was 45 minutes delayed for collecting I called only to be met with a very rude Wayne who said that it was not his fault the driver was late. I said the least they could've done was called to warn us. The driver said that he was given the job very last minute and did not know of the booking. Not sure who to believe but they were all very dishonest and Wayne argued instead of admitting Meadway were in the wrong and could have called. I have booked twice a transfer to Heathrow and the guys just decided not to show up at the correct time, and finally arrived 40 minutes later, while as I called for information they kept assuring me that the cab was always '5 minutes away'. Result: two missed flights. Beware, they are cheap for a reason - they are stretched and therefore book at your own peril. read more

Once again booked Meadway and explained it was imperative they did not let me down as has happened previously. Meadway texted to say driver en route, never had the courtesy to call and tell me he had "changed his mind". I missed a very important charity event which i had come in to London for. Absolutely appalling service - won't give Drivers numbers, but when you phone office to ask them to communicate passenger location to Driver they refuse. Then without speaking to Driver, told me Driver had made contact directly with passenger and that passenger was in the car - this was an outright lie and passenger was still trying to locate Driver. When you ask for Manager details to make formal complaint they spend 15 minutes trying to convince both you and themselves that they did none of the above. Disgraceful. We booked Meadway for 2 airport transfers on the strength of the reviews here. I'm glad we did. They arrived well in time, were very polite, very efficient. Booking was easy. The cars were smart and the drivers helpful. They were a heck of a lot cheaper than many other options. I can't fault them. I'm going to continue to use them. read more

Meadway Cars are totally unreliable. On three different occasions in the last week I have pre booked mini cabs, paid by card in advance to and from various destination. On all three occasions they were extremelt late, and never ever on time. They were usually a minimum of 20 - 45 minutes late each time. The final straw came today when I ordered a cab to pick me up and as per usual they were over 35 minutes late. This is not accaptable to the customer. There are plenty of other mini cab firms in the area who have far better time keeping and I and my family will be using another firm. I certainly would class Meadway as totally unreliable and recommend others not to use them. read more

Once upon a time long long ago I used to be the senior radio controller at Meadway. I have just been browsing the reviews and was a little surprised to see so many negative responses especially with regard to rudeness. PR was never a strong point even in my time but the working conditions and stress and poor management accounted for most of this. Basically you get what you pay for as in all things. I now live in Wolverhampton and believe me the local radio car services are on the whole superb and reliable. read more

Here is my experience with Meadway over two days (3 scheduled rides): 1. the driver gets lost which delays our simple ride (should have taken 10 minutes, it took 40 minutes) 2. the taxi did not show up at all 3. Meadway told us 10-15 minutes more will be needed for our car, but it never showed up 35 minutes later. The company used to be reliable - it has gone down in quality significantly. The manager's response to my compaint - well, we have been in business for 40 years so we know what we are doing. I will no longer use this company at all! read more

I used to use them. Variable quality, some good drivers, others less so. Then I left a mobile phone in the back of a cab, called and alerted dispatch promptly, knew which car. They were unhelpful, said the driver didn't respond, then 12 hours later the phone stopped responding. Can't be sure if driver or next passenger, but the utterly uninterested and unhelpful attitude of the company means I have taken my last ride with this lot. read more

Would highly recommend this company. We booked this company during the London 2015 Tube strikes. They informed us the taxi was likely to be late prior to booking, and kept us updated throughout.
