Go get your hair done with Roshana, she is amazing! I have had many botched haircuts and needed someone who was knowledgeable and had experience working with hair like mine. After reading all the raving reviews about her I booked an appointment immediately. She took the time to explain what would work best with my hair type (somewhat fine, somewhat wavy, and long) and then proceeded to give me a fabulous haircut! Appointments can be booked directly through her, so give her a call and thank me later! 408-406-0232 read more

Roshana is an expert at layering fine hair! If that's what you need, call her! (408) 406-0232. I needed a nearby stylist for my 14-yr-old daughter's first real salon haircut. She wanted layers and depth, but her hair is very fine and straight and we were afraid layering would make it look flat. I called Roshana because one of the other reviews showed pics of a woman with similar hair and the same "transformation" my daughter wanted. My daughter was thrilled with the results and Roshana took extra time to show her some styling tips. She was quick to respond to my phone call and we enjoyed our visit. We'll be back next time! (Note that Expressions doesn't have a central number to book appointments so you have to call the stylists at their own number. Makes it really hard for them to get new clients!) read more

Lynette is fantastic! She's kind and thoughtful, talented, and quick. Her pricing is much more reasonable than her competition so I end up going back much more often! She's worth it! read more

Dear Gentlemen, if you would like to be charged 100$ for a simple haircut, please visit Expressions Salon. !!! Avoid it at all costs, they are making up the price to charge you extra. Martha will give you unreal pricing. I would cut my hair better for 50$ max in any other salon. read more

I have been taking my mother there for years. Excellent. Always on time. Tons of parking

I had a haircut with Roshana today, she is excellent: she listened to what I had in mind, made recommendations and asked thoughtful questions. I finally made an account just to give a 5-star review for Roshana. My hair was very long and flat after not getting a haircut for over a year due to COVID. I brought some photos for inspiration and she really adapted the cut to make it work for my hair. She checked in with me about the length of the front bangs a few times to make sure it was just how I wanted. She also styled it with waves since her next appointment was running late! She said she prefers people reach out to her to make an appointment : 408-406-0232 read more

I recently moved back to the Bay and my friend recommended her mother as my new stylist. I cannot recommend Linda at Expressions Salon enough! Linda has had 50 years' experience styling hair and knows exactly what she is doing. She was able to transform my fine, wavy, tangly hair that I've hated my entire life into something I'm proud to show off. Linda will take all of your preferences into consideration and magically give you the haircut of your dreams. read more

This review is for Martha N. I came in for a woman's haircut. I asked for my hair to be thinned out with layers. I have very thick and slightly wavy hair that tends to get poofy and frizzy at the end of the day. Martha understood what I was asking for and I could see she was highly skilled and attentive in how she handled my hair. Overall, the haircut looks great, was fairly priced and came with a hair wash and styling. I'd definitely be happy to come again. read more

At Expressions in Menlo Park: Call/text stylist Roshana 1-408-406-0232 ASAP! I woke up and couldn't take my terrible hair style another moment! It was shoulder length, but in different, unflattering lengths. On my gym days it went in a ponytail. I needed hair style 9-1-1! I read the awesome Yelp reviews for Roshana at Expressions. After my gym workout, I walked into Expressions. At Expressions, there isn't a front desk person. You need to contact the stylist directly. All the stylists were busy, but one of them put me in touch with Roshana, who as on her way to work. She said she'd see me. I was thrilled since, she was my 1st pick due to her amazing Yelp reviews! She washed, cut and styled my hair to perfection! While I'm an older female (grown kids), I still want to look stylish and not matronly. Her cut for my hair highlighted the coloring I have and she worked with the bit of natural wave in my hair. I put 100% trust in Roshana and was rewarded by my new look! She also gave me tips on how to style my hair and product choices to use. She'll be the only person that cuts my hair! My 2nd appt is already booked! CALL Roshana NOW 1-408-406-0232 You won't regret it! PS. You'll love her personality too! read more

Martha does a great job cutting and coloring. She is very detailed with high-lighting/low-lightening.

After a long pandemic induced moratorium on haircuts, I had a business-in-the-front-party-at-the-back situation that Roshana fixed up delightfully. I left feeling like a million bucks. After almost a year's hacking my own hair and regular salon shutting down, I looked for a professional to work with me. My hair had also been growing thinner too. I've never seen so many positive Yelps as Roshana has. So I went to her to consult and get a haircut. She was very helpful and I am very pleased. My husband is going to get a haircut this week now too. She prefers appointments be made directly with her via text: 408-406-0232. I will be back to her & recommend her highly. read more

Haircut with Roshana: I am very picky when it comes to choosing a hair stylist because I usually wait for a hair cut until I visit my home country every summer. This was a last minute appointment and Roshana was able to book me on the same day. I did not have a clear idea about what I wanted. My hair was very long and did not look really healthy with weak split ends, so I needed a good clean up and some movement/layers. Roshana did what I needed for sure. I appreciated that she checked with me about the length a few times before completing the cut. I am a professor, so I have to add some constructive feedback as well :) -- Roshana made me feel comfortable with a friendly conversation, but I felt a little bit rushed at the beginning (it's a busy salon). Next time, I will take more time at the beginning to talk to her about a style that I want and which will look even more different for a good change. If I asked her, I think she would try to spend a bit more time with me as a new client at the beginning to make suggestions on styles (especially when people did not try anything different for a long time like me). Thus, don't hesitate to ask her, she has so much experience. I think Roshana is someone you can trust with haircuts. Overall, I am very happy with the experience! One word: ROSHANA. Just moved to Cali and was looking for someone with lots of experience and talent to give me a great haircut with highlights. I read a bunch of reviews on several salons near me and ultimately decided on ROSHANA @ Expressions. HIGHLY recommend contacting ROSHANA to get your hair in order. You can text her @ 408-406-0232. Best hair decision you ever make! read more

Zarin has been doing my hair for years, and I love her work so much that I save my major haircuts for when I'm in the Bay Area (I live in Los Angeles now). So when I wanted to try something different and color my hair for the first time, I only trusted the color expert. I wanted a very conservative Baliage- which is Exactly what I got! It's so subtle that it looks natural, which is what I described to her. My hair came out even better than the photos I showed her. Not only is her work exceptional but she is so pleasant to be around and talk to that she feels like a friend and not a hair stylist. Her hair cuts last my hair a while as well and the style doesn't give out easy. I highly recommend ZARIN, especially if you need anything with color! read more

Fabulous Angela T. (aka. Teena) My faith in a hair stylist has been renewed, and its because of Angela Teena. She took my hair from DRAB to FAB! My hair is long, wavy and heavy and because I am a mom of two it usually ends up in a ponytail. I went to Angela per a friends recommendation and wanted something different and new and was told she was the one to do it. I have always enjoyed the after effect of a haircut when I am walking out of a salon but usually the next day I was always an disappointed in the results. As a result I never went back. I love color on women but always assumed that my hair and face type could not handle it. Angelia Teena is an artist! She cut, color and styled my hair with precision, patience and finesse. She took me out of my comfort zone and made me feel youthful again but not over the top. I can't wait till my next appointment. I left the salon feeling great and too this day (3 days later) I feel great and the daily stranger compliments aren't that bad either... Stop reading already and book Angela T... read more

Tried to make an appointment today by calling the number on Yelp. Mailbox full. Could not leave a message.

Roshana highlighted my hair today and it looks amazing! She talked to me for a while about what I was looking for and gave me some guidance based on what she was noticing. She worked quickly, which I really appreciate. I don't want to spend all day at the salon. She was friendly and clearly an expert at what she does. I am thinking of trying a new style and would definitely trust her to create my new look. Can't wait to see her again in a few weeks!! My review reflects only upon the two the stylist there at Expressions Salon on Oak Grove Ave in Menlo Park, CA whose behavior I feel negatively impacts the quality and professional image of the salon. I stopped coming to Expressions Salon recently due to the unprofessionalism and passive- impressive behavior exhibited by my primary stylist. To start her not being forthcoming in declaring her flatiron oven was broken when I complained my hair was not straight from the service. She was busted by another coworker who at my next visit mentioned in my presence her previous broken and the brand new oven that was currently at her station. The other two times, she defied my request to not use certain styling products and the third she did not allow my hair to fully dry before straightening causing reversion. What would have been the very last visit, I just spared her fault and asked to pay for another appointment but was given an appointment the following Sunday after 2PM due to her great concern of others seeing a redo a client. I had concerns about being in a closed shop without others present. Her coworker, friend who serviced me once at Expressions burned the hell out of my scalp with this very hot steamer apparatus that I was trapped under for some time. When in her chair, I was subjected to her neck rolling, hand on hip attitude in disagreement, to my advisement of my being allergic to products with coconut, because -her other clients had not complained!? Despite tipping this stylist and thanking her when I arrived at my last appointment with my primary stylist she stood for what seem like eternity at shampoo station giving me a death glare, for some reason, she later came to shampoo bowl with another client and positioned her (not so fresh smelling) behind right on the side my face instead standing of the other side during Covid distancing. Future present clients, just know it that it is not you, maybe Expressions management will take heed before it is too late. read more

I got my haircut with Roshana today and couldn't be happier! I have very long hair and lots of layers and she always knows exactly how to style it the way I want it. Yes. I got my hair cut here! I just needed a simple trim and shape up. When I came in the place was hoping so it must have good staff. The entrance is on the side of the building dont' try going in the front. I contacted the stylist personally and we set up the appointment. My hair was cut by Arlene. I have long hair and she really listened to what I wanted and didn't take too much off. She washed, cut, and styled it. She was able to get me in the day I called, so awesome! I will be back. I also paid here directly on her iphone card reader so that was really convient. I will be back when I need a good hair cute and style. Thank you Arlene. read more

** THIS REVIEW IS FOR ESTHETICIAN LEAH ALLSEBROOK** There is an excellent facial service offered by Leah Allsebrook at Expressions in Menlo Park. As a recent addition in the past year to Expressions as an esthetician from the now defunct Premier Atelier Salon, Leah offers the best facials as well as massages bar none. Her prices are reasonable compared to so many others offered on the Peninsula and she really loves what she does. Her passion and knowledgeable insight really makes the experience a positive event. She has roughly 10 years in the field and really knows what she is doing. I can honestly and wholeheartedly say you would be remiss not to give her a chance to prove her services.
