Wow. This is QUITE…read morethe store. If you love books, this is a must-visit. If you like books, this is a should-visit. Either way, prepare to get lost in the aisles and prepare to spend a LOT of time here. And I mean A LOT. I really liked how well organized this store is. For all its thousands of books, each section is clearly marked, with excellent signage. While I wandered, my kid read an entire Oliver Sachs book (it was a short memoir). I found some killer coffee table art books. One in particular was a stunner, and oh so big, with incredible color plates (it was on photorealism, and was an impressive tome). The inner flap showed it originally sold for $125. The price here was $50. So....not for nothing, despite being a used book. But substantially less than when it was new. FYI. There's a huge section on popular novels and classic literature, both softcover and hard cover. I am certain these are much more reasonably priced. From the banter I heard between the cashier and some customers, I gather that a lot of regular locals shop here, and they are very familiar with the employees. I like that feel, of a local shop where they know their neighbors. This is a mesmerizing store, and a place you can get lost in - in the best way imaginable!

Their children/youth section is particularly impressive with high quality picture books and a solid selection of chapter books. The only downside is the prices are higher than what you'd find at a big box store. I for one will continue to shop at small, locally owned business when I can.

I've had the experience several times here asking for a book and getting very little help. I normally love browsing through books while running errands at the mall, but found myself…read moreextremely disappointed yesterday at Coles. I discovered they'd recently moved their pregnancy section to the very bottom shelf, in a very cramped walkway. Being 7.5 months pregnant and hardly able to tie my own shoes on a good day, I was a bit confused how I am supposed to get down on the ground to read the titles and browse the books I specifically came to find ! When I mentioned it to the store clerks, they shrugged and replied "Yes it seems a bit inconvenient", without offering any help. I walked out empty handed for obvious reasons ! I understand it was shortly before closing time, but I felt very dismissed when I pointed out the issue. Hopefully one of their workers has enough pride in their job to address this with their manager. I'm sure it was just an oversight and can be easily resolved !
