I walked in, stating, "I think I'm having a heart attack." They immediately took me in and after the obligatory blood pressure, iv, and such, four doctors came in. The cardiologist, Dr. Rhodehouse, stated I was having a heart attack, and the other three doctors started working with me, and then things got fuzzy. I was told I got an angiogram, but they were already prepping me for stent insertion. The angiogram results caused an ER professional to tell everyone to discontinue the prep, and told me my three blockages couldn't be handled by stents, I'd need a CABG (cabbage, I'm not a fan!) (coronary artery bypass graft - yep, open heart surgery). That required teamwork - I'd have to go to EIRMC - the hospital a couple of blocks away, which is tricky given I'm in the middle of an active heart attack. I think it's obvious that I truly admired everything happening (what I can remember of course) and everyone got an "A+" for their efforts.

They don't care enough once they got your money, you're on your own unless you are so persistent and get mad for not returning you a call / information on what's going on. They don't even know how to handle a complain. Their reason was they were so busy with patients that's why they weren't able to attend me! Wow! How about, improve your customer service! And do something about it in the future... Well! We're not coming back there and nor my friends and family and anyone who will ask my opinion. They need to be professional enough to at least inform me or a little call me back before the day is over! It's not a type of community care anyone would like to experience. After double bypass open heart surgery (CABG) at EIRMC performed by Dr. Riveron with assistance from Logan Cutts, normally the cardiologist would do followup, but Dr. Riveron was a visiting physician helping out for a week. I had the pleasure of having Logan Cutts do my followup for the next ten weeks. The first post hospital followup had Logan enter the room, glance at his notes, and say "Lose 20 pounds." Not a suggestion, a statement. His kind, but blunt statements were impactful and effective. (I've lost 25 pounds since then.) I had significant blood pressure issues after that and Logan adjusted my bp meds to keep it in line. He also advised me on cardiac rehab, saying I should delay it until other rehab could be done. His manner was friendly, informative, and calming during a tough time. While in the hospital, I heard many times - "Logan? Everyone knows and likes Logan!" After ten weeks, I had found and had one visit with my new cardiologist (my previous one had retired), so Logan passed me on giving me best wishes and continued health. It was a great heart followup experience!

This review is for Dr. Logan Cooper and his PA-C assistant. If you're considering hip replacement…read moresurgery by Dr. Cooper, I strongly suggest DON'T DO IT...until you've had a 2nd or even 3rd opinion by specialists who perform the (posterior) surgery. Dr. Cooper specializes in the (anterior) approach, boasting 6-week healing times on average. It has now been a YEAR since my hip replacement. To this day my thigh, from my knee upward to my hip, is numb and the tendon damage by the incision hinders my ability to get dressed or walk short distances or even sleep. I live on painkillers, which offer some relief, but overall I am much worse off than before the surgery and I may never recover. 7 weeks of physical therapy did absolutely nothing to aid with these issues. To literally add insult to injury, I later discovered that Summit was billing my insurance for my follow up visits which were necessitated by the nerve and tendon damage. At first Dr. Cooper and his PA-C assistant, Joel Whiting, boasted about 6-week healing times...then it was "give it a few more months" then during my last follow up 6 months ago I was told "well sometimes it can take a year to heal." I was totally blown-off at that point leaving me with zero suggestions and zero empathy. I am in my 50's, average height, not overweight and have a muscular build. After multiple visits to another orthopedic surgeon outside of Summit, I was informed by that surgeon he does not do the anterior surgeries due to the increased chances of nerve and tendon damage. I highly recommend seeking multiple opinions and acquiring all the facts before making a decision!
