This is specifically for the EIRMC ER, so does not replace my previous review, but adds to it. After being released from EIRMC for open heart surgery, I had another significant incident 11 days later. I was happily recovering, and was typing at my computer. Our dog ran in from outside, and I said, "Aura, go see your Mooooommmmeeeee." I told my spouse I felt very weird on my left side, so we immediately drove to the ER. I went in saying "I may have had a stroke." Quickly moved to an ER room, they ran multiple tests including an MRI. They told me I did have a stroke, but I wasn't exhibiting any further issues, so they kept me overnight for observation, but released me about noon the next day. That lasted about six hours. I took a nap as soon as I got home, then awakened to call my spouse. "I can't move my left arm and I can't walk well." Back to the ER, more tests and another MRI. They checked me in (turns out it was the same room I'd vacated earlier) and apologized for releasing me prematurely. The stroke area had grown, they went through a few theories over the next few days, settling on a Progressive Ischemic Stroke (PIS), one that "keeps on giving" :( Not much you can do about a stroke, I'd already been on blood thinners due to the heart surgery. After five days, I passed enough hurdles against another stroke and in initial rehab to "graduate" to the sixth floor - their inpatient rehab center. I still couldn't do anything with my left arm, could walk carefully with a walker and assistance, and my speech had improved, but I would be needing rehab for quite some time. I appreciated the ER's response, but of course wish I hadn't been released so quickly.

There is no other patients in the ER but it still takes 4 hours to read a ct scan after it has been…read moredone. The food will make you want to get better just so you can get something edible. I'd been bring her service dog with us and now with me because any change in her routine would be harmful to her. She was my wife's service dog for twelve+ years. I could see a problem if she was a large dog but she only weighs in at 7 pounds. She sits on a chair and very quiet and now they decided after almost two years she is no longer welcome. Time to make a change. I will miss everyone there, but then again something's going on, all new front end staff, not at all as friendly as in the past.

Two years ago I was told to go to their physical therapy department for my shoulder's pain. 9 months and hundreds of $$$, no relief and no extra plans were offered. I went to another office, and within a week I had answers and a plan for a solution. This business has grown to a point they can not provide quality care in a timely manner. After double bypass open heart surgery (CABG) at EIRMC performed by Dr. Riveron with assistance from Logan Cutts, normally the cardiologist would do followup, but Dr. Riveron was a visiting physician helping out for a week. I had the pleasure of having Logan Cutts do my followup for the next ten weeks. The first post hospital followup had Logan enter the room, glance at his notes, and say "Lose 20 pounds." Not a suggestion, a statement. His kind, but blunt statements were impactful and effective. (I've lost 25 pounds since then.) I had significant blood pressure issues after that and Logan adjusted my bp meds to keep it in line. He also advised me on cardiac rehab, saying I should delay it until other rehab could be done. His manner was friendly, informative, and calming during a tough time. While in the hospital, I heard many times - "Logan? Everyone knows and likes Logan!" After ten weeks, I had found and had one visit with my new cardiologist (my previous one had retired), so Logan passed me on giving me best wishes and continued health. It was a great heart followup experience!

My experience with Mountain View Hospital is as a spouse of a patient. My husband has had several…read moreout patient test done at different times. I was present for the tests or to receive information after the tests. The doctors and support staff were very knowledgeable, professional, and kind. They easily answered my questions in as full detail as I needed and treated me with respect. As I was present while some of the tests were performed I felt they tried to enroll me as an interested party and explained as the test progressed. I never felt like an outsider. Testing can be quite stressful. The doctor and support staff worked to minimize the stress. I like how Mountains View Hospital conducts health care.

I walked in, stating, "I think I'm having a heart attack." They immediately took me in and after the obligatory blood pressure, iv, and such, four doctors came in. The cardiologist, Dr. Rhodehouse, stated I was having a heart attack, and the other three doctors started working with me, and then things got fuzzy. I was told I got an angiogram, but they were already prepping me for stent insertion. The angiogram results caused an ER professional to tell everyone to discontinue the prep, and told me my three blockages couldn't be handled by stents, I'd need a CABG (cabbage, I'm not a fan!) (coronary artery bypass graft - yep, open heart surgery). That required teamwork - I'd have to go to EIRMC - the hospital a couple of blocks away, which is tricky given I'm in the middle of an active heart attack. I think it's obvious that I truly admired everything happening (what I can remember of course) and everyone got an "A+" for their efforts.

ER visit. I knew I had a UTI...they didn't believe me. 5 medical nurses couldn't draw blood. The…read moredoctor and pharmacist both asked where I get my prescriptions. I told them. I was in the ER for over 7 hours for two separate infections that a simple test could've shown. I told two what pharmacy they disregarded and called them in at Walgreens. Two days later I still don't have and pain is back SEVERE! Won't go there again.
