The fish was tasty, and the batter was not oily or greasy. That's a good thing. Perhaps, it did not meet my expectations because I did not eat the haddock right away. I worry there's a big conspiracy - i.e, maybe Hi-Tide put something in their chips to make us say that. But are the chips really better than everywhere else? I have my own theory. My theory is that all chippy chips taste EXACTLY THE SAME. Seriously, if I was to line them up one by one, chip by chip, from chippy to chippy, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Despite this fact; I do like Hi-Tide; I think their chips are as good as anyones and their staff are always friendly and chatty; even though I worry about the spotty, greasy dude who's sorting my chips out.
