My toddler daughters had the best time at Applesauce Play-Cafe this past weekend, for open play. It was a spur of the moment decision. I was surprised to see that they were opened, as most indoor play places are closed on the weekends. They were open at 10am this past Sunday. I found their hours of operation on Instagram, so I'd suggest checking their social media page before making a plan or heading on over. In addition to open play, they do offer baby/toddler classes and other special events. I was a little worried that my almost 4 year old would be bored, as this place is a little bit smaller compared to other indoor play places. But, she had one heck of a time, going down the slide, over and over again. My almost 2 year old copied everything that her big sister did, including going down the slide. After being there for almost 2 hours, it was difficult to get them to leave. I carried out the screaming little one while my friend walked out the older one.

We have been doing this since she was 2yrs old. She is now 6yrs old and we have moved up to the grade school open gym in the evenings. I just love their flexibility and how they accommodate the kids to practice whatever they want during the hour or 2hr open gym. It's actually tough for us to go back to our regular gymnastics gym in Northern California. My daughter attends the top rated gymnastics in Northern California and I don't feel that the classes and open gyms are anywhere close to American Twisters. Love, love love this place. The front desk staff was incredibly rude, which is highly disappointing for a potential new customer. Furthermore, the coaches and staff looked completely unprofessional and miserable--several were walking around eating bags of chips with big attitudes. I reached out to another friend whose child used to attend, and she confirmed she pulled her daughter out for the exact same reasons, adding that the gymnastics classes lack any real structure. As a full-time working mom of four athletes who prioritizes health and fitness, I expect a standard of care and professionalism that this place simply does not provide. I would not recommend leaving your children here.

Walking into Panthers IceDen in Coral Springs feels a little like stepping into South Florida…read morehockey history. Sure, the Florida Panthers no longer use this as their primary practice facility, but let's not overlook the fact that this building was literally designed to train a professional hockey team... a Stanley Cup-winning one at that. That alone gives the place some cool factor. The facility has three professional-sized rinks, the ice itself is very well maintained, and there's constantly something happening here. Beer leagues for just about every skill level, kids learning to skate, public skate sessions, hockey parents living exclusively on caffeine and hope... it's got that lively community rink atmosphere that makes places like this fun even if you're just there to watch. In my case, I was there to bring my grandsons to see their dad play hockey for the first time, which already made the experience special before we even stepped inside. And honestly, the staff helped make it even better. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and genuinely helpful. Since the place has multiple rinks running simultaneously, I needed help figuring out where we were supposed to be, and the staff guided us without making me feel like I'd wandered into the NHL combine by mistake. Then came my favorite moment. I ordered chicken nuggets during the game, and instead of making me stand around waiting and risk missing part of my son's game, one of the staff members actually brought the order over to me. That's the kind of small gesture people remember. The overall atmosphere here is friendly, welcoming, and very community-oriented. The building itself is clean and well-kept, even if it's starting to show its age a little compared to the Panthers' newer and shinier facilities elsewhere. Is it the fanciest rink complex ever built? No. But honestly, that's part of the charm. It feels authentic. Functional. Comfortable. Like a real hockey rink instead of a corporate showroom that just happens to have ice in it. Four stars (maybe because I'm a longtime Panthers fanatic?). A little aged and a little limited in spots, but absolutely a place worth checking out whether you're playing, skating, or just introducing the next generation to hockey.

Came here with my wife to sit at the upstairs bar called Panthers Point to have a beer and watch the pros, figure skating and hockey league camp in action but sadly was closed so had to watch from the lower level. My son plays here in the adult league at night. It was pretty exciting knowing that the Florida Panthers actually practice here. The other side of the den was ice skating open to the public for $24.00 with an optional $6.00 skate rental. In order to skate, they provide a digital QR Code to scan and create a Daysmart account with a digital waiver to sign. It was actually very cold walking around and not even on the ice. Basic food and drinks are offered at the snack bar near the entrance. Fun place to skate or just relax and watch the skaters in action on the ice. Dont forget to bring a warm jacket to deal with the frigid temperature.

I do wish they would mix up the class times once in a while because I've been going for about two years and schedule hasn't changed much so I end up doing the same classes each week. 1 Star -- Extremely Disappointed After 6 Years as YMCA Members…read more Unfortunately, after what happened today, we decided to cancel our YMCA membership and our children's swimming lessons. We have been YMCA members for six years. We have used this facility regularly, our children have taken swimming lessons here, and we have invested a lot of time and money into this membership. That is why today's experience was especially disappointing. I have already left a negative review about this YMCA, but today's situation honestly went beyond what I consider acceptable. This morning, I came to the YMCA for my workout. Around 11:00 AM, as I was leaving, I noticed an older woman in a white car trying to park next to my vehicle. There was no actual parking space available, and she was trying to squeeze into the area between the designated parking spaces. I didn't pay much attention at the time because I was in a hurry to pick up my daughter from daycare. After picking up my children, I returned to my car and discovered significant scratches on the plastic part of my vehicle. The damage was large enough that the paint had been completely scraped off. I immediately went back to the YMCA, hoping they could check their security cameras and possibly help identify the person responsible. Instead, I was told that they could not review the cameras themselves and that I needed to call the police. I was told that they would review the footage only if the police requested it. We called the police. An officer came and documented the incident. However, he did not even go inside the YMCA to review or request the camera footage. He simply explained that cameras of this type are often not clear enough to identify a license plate or a person's face. What I found especially frustrating is that there seemed to be no attempt to look for another way to identify the person. Even if the video quality was not good enough to clearly see the license plate or face, I suggested checking the approximate time of the incident and comparing it with the YMCA's membership check-in records. Members scan their membership when entering the facility. I had seen exactly where the woman went after parking, so it seemed reasonable to at least check whether someone matching the description entered the building around that time. Instead, I felt completely left on my own. I understand that the YMCA cannot be responsible for every incident that happens in its parking lot. I am not expecting the YMCA to pay for my car or to magically identify the driver. But after six years as a member, I expected basic cooperation, communication, and a genuine effort to help when something like this happened on YMCA property. The damage to my car was upsetting, but the lack of assistance and the way the situation was handled was even more disappointing. After six years, this was the final straw for us. We canceled our membership today and also canceled our children's swimming lessons. Very disappointed that after being loyal members for six years, this is how our relationship with the YMCA ends.
